I have ZERO interest in fishing but my other half always watches your videos. You are such a positive person and you can feel the love for the animals, the sport, and just full appreciation for life itself. It's like watching a southern Steve Irwin ❤ You're an absolute pleasure to watch keep up the great work and God bless!!
I hollered at you the other day when I was leaving J&M. You were turning into the parking lot, pulling your boat. You could have been a snob and ignored me, but you gave me a nice wave. So cool.
Great video! Some of those back waterways are absolutely beautiful. Just a nice quiet place to drift into, throw a line out, and just relax and admire the beauty all around you. Yes the bright sunshine, emerald color of the beach side is always nice, but to me, its just as important to enjoy and admire the backways as well. They bring their own special something.
That looked like a blast. My favorite kind of fishing is just getting into multiple species and having fun with it. Wisconsin is cold and snowy. Some day I'll dig the boat out and get after some fish. In the meantime, I'll continue to watch you get it done. From one Vet to another, thanks for bringing us along!
I fully agree! I wish for some warmer weather for ya! On a positive note, at least the mosquitos and no-see-ums aren't eating ya up! Thank you for your service !!
🤣🤣 figured so. When I was down there last October I took your lead and risked being made fun of for using pink. But my first catch I doubled up on small pomps and finished out the trip with 15 total pomps 6 of which were keepers during the 2 days I got to fish. Pink bamasaltwater rigs on just pink fishbites.
Popping corks are one of my favorite ways to fish. You're the first person I've ever heard say you can use a yo-zuri under a cork. I ran out of shrimp one time in SWFL and tied on a small suspending silver yo-zuri under a cork and caught trout & Jacks like every 2 or 3 casts for hours! What a blast. Love your videos.
I throw a live greenback about 30" under a popping cork on the grass flats on the inside of Ft. Desoto for trout right about this time of year November to first week of March. Then Redfish & Snook start getting active on the intercoastal. Great spot for huge Snook is in hurricane pass on the outgoing tide, free lining live grunt big as my hand. 👍 Great spot for Reds is on the south jetty at Blind Pass, anchored up near the rock warning sign on the incoming tide. I use the Ugly Stick Elite 6.5 & 12 lb line on a Penn Battle reel, free lining live pinners about silver dollar size, 14" or so of 20# fluorocarbon & a #2 mustad. TONS of big Redfish, you can get a few keepers in the slot but most are over 27". 😊PERFECT 🥰 fishing 🎣 😉
Another amazing video captain Stephen! I've been a huge fan of your channel because of how informative and entertaining your videos are and you're a super friendly and great person yourself. I'm going to be heading down to gulf shores a week and a half from now and I really want to catch a few sheepshead especially after your last video, do you have any tips on how to catch them?
Fish next to structure: pier, jetty, seawalls. They should still be biting. IF a shop has livebait, that's the best choice but they'll eat fresh dead peeled shrimp, sand fleas and barnacles as well! Good luck!
I do a lot of salt marsh fishing in Louisiana and I love watching your chanel. I've learned a couple of things from you. We do vacation in Orange beach and might bring our boat over there some time
Nice Speck! It's amazing how similar the bayous and creeks look. I'm just a few miles west of you as the crow flies on the Mississippi Coast and it looks like you could be fishing in my backyard! LOL
What a great video👍👍. I really like that you always take time to go over the regs and seasons of all the fish you catch. Counting down the days till we'll be down there on our two week vacation n can't wait to try some of the tips you use on your channel.
Went out yesterday in Orange Beach, and the Flounder we on fire. Caught 5 flounder (3 keepers) within an hour and I ran out of Bait. Only had a dozen shrimp. I could have caught more had I had more shrimp. Fun day it was indeed.
Hi Steven. Ever thought about going out with or taking out other Vets in the area or maybe linking up with Mission 22 as a sponsor? I'm not affiliated with them, but I am a Veteran. I'd like to start something up like that once I get my boat out more. Not sure how I can do that without starting a channel (which I'm too shy to do). I do love your content, but was hoping you could make something on the 22 Vets that lose their life to s*cide daily. I've actually have a few battle buddies I've lost since I've gotten out.
To be honest...here in Louisiana, in regard to that first trout..I would consider that a "breeder" and throw it back. NICE fish though for sure! Popping cork is always go-to.
Hey Stephen, I know I am late to this party, but so I been watching this video, I just don't understand how that popping cork method works. Can you take me fishing and personally show me how it works? I am really good with hands on experience. Awesome video!!!!
I want a collage video of every clip you have tossing a fish back into the water while looking straight ahead at the camera… I think that would be a cool little video short
That first one is the same size I caught when I was a kid fishing for fluke in Sandy Hook Bay New Jersey, there's gonna be a lot of fish with sore mouths swimming around 😂😂
I use Power Pro Super Slick V2 on most of my reels. I also like the Spiderwire Ultracast Invisibraid and I really love the Nomad Ammonite Jigging braid for my jigging reels!
I like them all, but I am growing more fond of my Daiwa Saltist MQ's. Both reels start out very smooth and lite, but through hard fishing, my Daiwa's are still smooth and lite without making any additional noise. I loved the Shimano Stradic Ci4+ and tried to like the Vanford, yet it didn't hold up like it should for a $220+ reel. I am very unimpressed by the Vanford. I really like the Shimano Stradic FL's, Daiwa BG's, and the Daiwa Saltist MQ's. *I spent my own money on them and this is not a sponsored post*
@@BamaSaltwater Thanks for that. I have 3 Daiwa's in my amazon cart and just wanted to get your opinion before I invested that kind of money. I'm a LEO and this is a huge investment for me.
