Way back in January I came across the very same spec car as my first ever drift car and jumped on a plane to the UK to buy it. I hope you enjoy the story of drifting like we used to back in the day over 15 years ago.

I had an white1990 5 door 8v Dohc, one friend had the same sierra but in the color you have. And another friend had an 87 2.0 pinto in champagne color with a home made turbo kit. Man did we do a lot of sliding around!

I really like how Irish drifters are in your everyday life.
Building world class drift cars in a fairly modest garage compared to competition, same time welding diffs and having fun in stock sierras.
And also same time casually being one of the best drifter in the world.

I’ve got a Sierra Estate that holds some big sentimental memories too! My grandad owned it for 26 years. This was an awesome watch, mines a 4x4 model so it’s won’t go sideways but I plan on turboing the DOHC and having some fun! I’d LOVE to have one of those spoilers!
This actually brings me back. I remember seeing you in the Sierra in Rosegreen when you were a junior and only allowed to run the inner oval because you didn’t need a cage. The one memory that sticks in my head is of you waiting for a run, the Marshall was sitting on your bonnet and you started doing a burnout. I think there is a picture of it somewhere.
The first time i seen him was at an exhibition day in rosegreen and he had jjst bought a purple s14a and was supposed to be running the inner circuit… but he was running the outer wall😄… i said to myself ‘theres one to watch’… little did we know..👍😄

@@JamesDeane130 Where you in a junior class or something, I remember seeing you're brother in a red 325i sport, might have been 1st ever drift event in Ireland? Buff from north was there in grey gsi carlton, waving out the window in nice blue shirt as he drifted by, good times!

The Ford Sierra is one of my dream cars, because Jimmy McRae drove one in the wrc.
But we did not get them here in America. The closest thing we got was a Mercury Mercur scorpio xrs

My Dad Bought a red sapphire gls brand new in 1991 and I was born in 92 i spent my whole childhood going to rallys with him in her he was a rally Photographer she went around the clock twice until the engine timing chain went 😅
