Too much KFC for Christmas.
Thinking about it more, I'd have made the gun cooling function a bit like an [Italian] autoreloader but for accuracy rather than DPM (of course missed shots affect your effective DPM though). Not exact numbers, but I would increase the base accuracy to, say, 0.35, then have heat meter build up as you fire. As the gun gets hotter, up to a max value, you get steadily more inaccurate - it's up to the player to balance the need to fire vs heat buildup (shown in a little reticle indicator like when your rockets are on cooldown with a BZ). If you reach max heat you are locked there, heat will no longer decay until you take an extended firing break, say 20 seconds, at which point you get a little coolant flush effect and go into supercooled mode and get the special 0.28 accuracy on your next shot before returning to normal heat management. Alternatively you could get a button to press to manually use a limited-use coolant flush, again like the BZ rockets. Yes, it's a little physics-defying, but no worse than other stuff in WoT.
For the 8-10 tanks I'd also give them a little dpm and speed buff, and the t10 slightly better armour.
This would have been a much more fun and engaging way of doing the cooling mechanic instead of this half-assed way they did it.
funny side of story is that in reality hotter gun will be more accurate, not "cold" )

It's just weird that a heavy tank only has 120mm frontal armour that makes every tank in tier 10 able to penetrate that front armour
Should give 170mm and it's more than enough to be as good as super conqueror
everything you said about this tank and the line is absolutely true. gun handling gets two stars, armor Effectiveness two stars, fun factor one star, frustration level five stars. except for the 8 it's the best tank in the line.
T8 with 200 dpm more and 2-3 instead of 5 s for sniper mode would suit the tank better. DPM lacks compared to other tanks and the 5s sniper mode is more hindering than feature. Or just skip the sniper mode and make guns of all tiers 0.3 more acurate (with DPM improvement). The bad base accuracy for close range doesn't work well with shitty upper hulls as the T10 seems to have it. I haven't played to much with T8 and don't own T9-10 to judge them better.
How I was using this tank on test server was as a cupola sniper and it did worked for me good, so I figured out I'll be grinding this line. But I might be a weird person - put Skieeel commander into T-77 and whatnot :D

I've noticed this lately with the new lines, The tier 9 of each line has tier for tier been better than the tier 10
BZ 68 better than bz-75
Ho-Ri 1 better than Ho-Ri 3

I agree with you for the most part except you're on crack if you think the BZ-68 is better than the BZ-75, the lack of gun depression over the front lights alone makes the tier 9 awful and awkward otherwise yeah it probably would be better. I'd say both the Ho-Ris are very good with the tier 9 maybe being a bit better tier for tier but the Ho-Ri 3 has mobility too. The Concepts are just a disappointment, I grinded to the tier 9 and its one of the only lines I've ever abandoned so I can't speak about the tier X but I've heard its awful. Type 68 is pretty solid so far and I haven't got to the tier X but again it sounds way worse.
@@Curries6 I have to disagree, while those angles on the front do suck, tier for tier the bz 68 is better, the gun reloads faster, the turret armor is better (objectively) put me in a bz 68 with straight tier 9 matchmaking and it's almost a guaranteed 5k or more game

Thats what I like with you your honesty you are not sweet talking you tell it up front like it is. If I ever get this I will play it like a heavy and be stunned by that bad armour and having really bad games. Now I have a chance to at least know how it will behave and have a chance to adjust my game play to what it is. ❤

I'm on tier 9 right now and i don't feel it's a great tank. So have i switch to S.Conqurer tree line and leave alone Type 71? That's the question
Yes, Sconq is a really great tank, you can carry so many games with it.
It's my best performing tier X with 2750wn8 average and 2 marked it.
If you want an easier ride, Minotauro plays a similar style but is way easier to play with it.
Sconq is basically the entire meta in random battles. If you want a hulldown vehicle yeah you should get that. Much, much better than the Type 71.
You could also get the STB if you wanted, moderately similar vehicle to the Type 71 but pretty much superior in each regard.
I've tried to play this Type 71 in the last test server and the present one, but I cannot understand why the double aiming system never works for me. The cooling down system does not work. I never get the 2 aiming dot's, it simply aims and fires like any other tank. Am I doing something wrong? are my settings wrong? I just do'nt get it!!!
If S Conq will be nerfed then this tank won`t be that bad. And...what I learned with this tank: hulldown from distance...if you are close they will pen you eazy
ok, but what is the point to have tier X HEAVY tank sniping from the back? You can do that MUCH better with meds/TD. And if your team has 3 top tier HT, from which only 2 are playing in heavy line, enemy has one tank adv. And also check the stats. Usually first are playing with the new tanks more exp. players and they sucks with it. Yes, very good players can make it work, but they can make much better work almost everything else. From ~35 tierX heavies this has like 6th worst performance so far - and when ordinary players without free XP will get their hands on it, the stats will fall down even more.
If they nerf Sconq, this will still be a shitty tank, just that Sconq will be worse 🤣

Ive played the line for a decent bit now:
-t8 its decent, only kinda hate the long reload and the mobility
-t9 its fun, maybe a bit more spd and slightly better gun handling outside the extra mode
-t10 just garbage, in t10 only mm youre screwed, youre to slow for the mediu
generell problems:
-siege mode
-base gun handling
-long aim time
but lets be real wg wont buff the line till 3-7years from now and they will prob even nerf it cause the 2 braincells are not working
You took the words out of my mouth about this being a good thing from Wargaming that the tank isn't OP from the start. If it's underperforming then they an buff it later but it's a lot better imo than it being OP and nerfing it after they've soaked up all the players gold that they're going to get from people trying to speedrun through the line.
Try raising the gun after each shot skill, this will make the suspension go up in the front and will help you hide the cupola, just be careful not to expose the upper hull.

The turret makes litte difference if everything below it is penetrated from every angle
With bounty aiming device this tank for me just shoots sideways. And yes, the coupola has homing beacon.
The problem of introduce "balanced lines and tanks" (Concept 5 and Type 71)is having the other powerful tanks as Leo 1 and S.Conq in the same powerful status. There is almost no point of play new lines when lineal better tanks are avaible.
There is nothing balanced about the concept, its complete trash, the type 71 isn't bad though, it just needs a little more dpm to be competitive, same with the Rhino, it needs a load more dpm in that though.
I did learn something, driving a nomad, stops you raging at arti, if you don't get mad, you probably don't rage at anyone.
i very much enjoy the t8, can kind of sidescrape and has no siege mode, just -12 at all times. the gun handling though is just horrid. im saving up creds for the t10 now but this is giving me 2nd thoughts

Just play it like a Lowe... accurate gun but NOT a front line brawler. Stay way to the rear and snipe. It's effectively useless otherwise, despite the decent DPM w/o the gimmic in play.
the turret is however hori/jag/e3 proof. as long as they dont hit the cupola.

While the tier 9 one actually has decent armor, its big brother's armor is just a disappointment.
The turret is fine but the hull is extremely weak for a tier 10 HT.
The gun can be nice but since the tank fires once every 7s, its mechanics pretty much become irrelevant.
The UFP needs to get buffed.
Base accuracy needs to get buffed.
If not top speed then stabilization needs to get buffed in order to give this tank a place in the game.
It seems slow even with a bounty or bond turbo, I really don't know why you would play this tank when the S Conq, Kran and other tanks exist that do hull down better. I know they don't want to make new tanks too powerful but type 71 needs a buff to the front upper plate and a little bit more top speed base
I would love to know the thought process behind releasing these tanks in such form. 😂
I have found on the tier 8 that cooling the gun doesn't make a massive difference, i've had an awful time with the gun. Very derpy.
And these vehicles have MASSIVE hulls that both make the (relative) speed for a heavy a bit harder to work, as well as making using your gun depression effectively more difficult in quite a few positions in the game.
So once you have these hulls that aren't very good & are big targets, then the odd gun depression, then the hull getting in the way of using the gun depression... it's just awkward.
And to me as I have played, I feel like my .25 cooled dispersion on the Type 57 is largely the same as the alleged .26 on the Grille. Just fiction most of the time.
I think these tanks LOOK awesome, and I wanted to grind the line and I did to tier 8... but they just aren't special in any way or even particularly effective in general.
They are almost purely hulldown vehicles with bad guns and awkward gun depression that also operate like boats :(
For me, the Type 71 works absolut amazing, i think its not your tank.🤗

i got such high expectation for this line and t10... To be honest i'm quite sad that it end up like that, i hope wargaming will do something to bring balance to this tank, it fells like a joke.
Moreover, i know we can't compare wot and blitz but in blitz this tank seems quite cheated.
We just have to wait for buff because the mechanics of this line is still interesting !

I just love how Skill starts talking negative about one or another tank and in that session that tank just starts to work, mainly gunwise and the enemy teams are in that case usually not the best ones,at least in my opinion. I was a WOT Blitz player. Thankfully, I no longer play the game. Type 71 is probably the most hated tank in the game. The armor is so trollish that is even degusting sometimes. Completely the opposite in WOT PC. Been nurfed recently however the armor was not even touched. I think WG nurfed the mobility. I really hated this tank and never went for grinding it. Btw. gg skill. Love your content. I still watch blitz and PC streamers sometimes. Type71 in PC is almost identical to STB1 in blitz - strong turret and weak hull.
Ive been having great games in the tier 9. Havent unlocked the tier 10 yet.
I just want the S Conq to get nerfed. Im so sick of seeing that thing.
Rather than buffing the DPM I'd rather give the tank more identity as we don't want to just have a better S Conq in the game (and we also already have various derivatives of S Conq playstyle like E5 and Yoh)
My proposal is to make it better as a hulldown 2nd line HT. Give it a better alpha (420 should be enough) while keeping the gun handling and DPM at similar level. That way you need to expose yourself less (so less cupola exposure), no need to adjust the awkward hull too often, and using the gun cooling is more rewarding. Give it a better turret traverse and turret stabilization so it can acquire new target quicker. That should be a good start to give a niche to this tank.
I highly suggest Improve aiming. I play it like a second liner support and the gun works wonder. My only prob is the freaking hull too weak for a tier 10 standards. Working for my 3 moe wish me luck :D

For what this tank , if super conq perform much better and with more armored upper hull
people are playing this wrong. this is meant to be a sniper mid to long range tank cause of the suspension and accuracy. its made as a heavy because the second half of the game when most tanks died and people start getting closer to finish, it will have an advantage over the enemy mediums cause it has better armour. so this is a sniper that is prepared for endgame brawls. thats all. not a first line Heavy at all. this is like playing e50m or Leopard in close combat. take this tank as a leo or E50 with better armour. than you will have results.
Being a support Heavy is the best way to play this tank.
Nope, it's just a bad tier X. Usually new tank performs better when it first come out since better players are getting and playing it quickly. In this case it's already the worst tier X heavy tank and I assume it will get worse still when below average players reach it.
I casually grinded Progetto... then at tier 9, they nerfed it :-\

That would make it broken and everyone would play it. And I mean everyone. Because the best players get worse results than they should because RNG, so they would all play this tank and snipe everyone back to the garage

I agree...the tier 8 I play like a big medium. WOT's Warrior's Path is a way to get ppl to go down this line. I just don't like it, I will probably stop playing it like I did the American YOH tanks.

I think that people fail to understand that playing the Type 71 hulldown isn't possible, because you're exposing your hull, which gets overmatched, unlike the STB-1.
This is reflected in the Type's stats - it is the worst performing Tier X tank across all servers.

Yeah, the T10 is a piece of shit actually. The 9, ok tank and i even ilked that one. Sadly they will mostly likely not buff this tanks, like the wheeled vehicle from Britain.
For me, the tier 8 was ok. I did better and enjoyed the tier9. My frustration level in t10 was off the charts!
Japanese armor is paper no matter the tier or vehicle.

Long story short, this tank is absolute kaku. what is stopping the majority of the playerbase from playing the super conqueror than this? the gun cooling mechanic? half of the time when you wait for it, it doesn't even work. Armor is absolutely 0 stars but i would recommend this tank highly if you want to get your blood pressure rising.
This tank is so bad that with 260mm of penetration you shred the upper plate while that doesn't happen with the tier 9. I'm not the only one who thinks the tier 9 should be the tier 10 with better DPM and this one should be lowered to tier 9. Absolutely tragic tank. I'm not going to spend any free exp on this or the Concept 5 line until the polish tds arrive.

Skill i went thru all the stages as you said. I started questioning myself if im able to play with tank. I came to same conclucions, Its just pile of shit tank. This is my worst performing T10. All of the line feels just underwhelming and i think this tank needs some buffs.

Just from this video, it doesn't seem like a tier 10 for the effort being expended (aside from paid actors on enemy teams) to make it work. Didn't really have interest in this line to start with, and so far nothing to make me change that opinion.

I think wg needs to nerf all heavies in general, i like to play with my leo sniping and getting to early pos. With my 0.27 accuracy, sometimes i miss 4/5 shots in a row, i get spotted, a heavy tank turns his turret to me, dont aim, and hit, simply that. Another issue is that all heavies are faster than never, and they can achieve + 445 spotting distance, making all the mediums fell useles, in the past (2016) heavy has strong armor, blind as a bat, low accuracy, totally focused on close combat
They just need to nerf S.conq ... i have enough of this meta, s conq everywhere, onslaught is just 14x s. conq hull downing each other ... if you will have hull down tanks with similar characteristics people would choose between the tanks ... now its just everyone going for s conq

S.Conqueror will be nerfed, WG already stated it's over performing and they also mentioned it's overall the best tier X heavy at the moment despite the BZ-75 having a higher win ratio. Expect mobility and rate of fire nerf.

While the SQ is highly rated & used, it's not smooshing people like the 279e was before the nerf. If you catch that tank anywhere out of position, alpha damage will always win out. Arguably the 60tp is better if you trade for trade. I say keep the SQ as is or it will become another nothing tank, like so many other tier 10 heavies.
And I AM waiting the nerf for Leo 1. That thing makes every second line tank like Concept 5, K91, M60, AMX 30B and Even some TD's Bad. I am tired of play that kind of tanks and feel "Yap, I could did it better on the Leo 1"
