    Eli killed this with his arrangement. Box of Tissues required. Cesar shows all the feelings in his voice and face. Only one in the group who was a theatre geek in high school.

    They're all my favorite in various ways.
    Layne for his beatboxing and soft singing voice.
    Eli for his beautiful rock tenor Voiceplay.
    Cesar for his sassiness and awesome sweet voice.
    Geoff for his amazing bass to tenor voice.
    J None for his sweetness and beautiful voice.
    All the guys for their genuine silly selves on and off camera.

    Watching someone have an audiogasm to a killer song performed by a superior group is one of life’s little pleasures. 😁🫶🏻

    This was arranged by Eli. We are not too spoiled with arrangements by him. His Eleanor Rigby is very good to , a hint for future reactions.
    Cesar is soooooo good with his soft airy voice, just like in I Can't Make You Love Me.

    Individually, they are fantastically talented. Together they are magic. I fell into Voiceplay after a friend sent me a link to Geoff's Sixteen Tons and I've been lost ever since.

    This was arranged and co-directed by Eli. (Tony Wakim who had been the baritone from 2010 to 2017 also provided direction.) The visuals of them standing alone, in the dark, in front of the mirror are simple but incredibly effective.
    Their willingness to appear vulnerable is part of what makes this work so well. I have yet to get through it without tearing up. When Cesar’s voice breaks on “cry” that usually starts me off.
    It was interesting to watch the behind the scenes. To get that bottomless pit feeling they had to curtain the entire area off with black draperies. Tony, like the Wizard of Oz, directed everything from behind the curtain using camera and monitor. To get that seamless transition at the end, they had the cameraman filming the whole group, then focus only on Cesar at which point everyone scattered. When he pulled the camera back, Cesar was once again all alone.
    And did you notice that during the run, run, run section directed the lighting? Clever since he does lighting on most VoicePlay productions.

    Eli does such a good job with the arrangement , I hope we get to see more from him! I love how excited you were for this song, they blew it out of the water yet again! 💜

    GreT analysis. You know ew when to let them run with the song. Their singing was so heartfelt like they all had experienced this kind of rejection. Eli's arrangement was perfection!

    Great reaction - love the insight you share - it helps me understand the many facets of the music a listener often misses. Voiceplay is a multifaceted vocal group and we should replay several times to pick up all the nuances. Thanks

    I dont like to choose favorites but Cesar hits me in the feels every time. I actually found VoicePlay from listening to some of Cesar's earlier solo work. All the guys hit this one out of the park. They all are so good.

    If we’re talking about the group as a whole, I’d have to say Cesar - for his ability to emote so effectively. If we’re talking about overall, it’s Geoff. There’s just something about his tone & how his solo work tickles that part of my brain that very few artists have been able to touch. Genuinely believe he’s the most remarkable male singers I’ve ever heard. He ranks right up there with Lisa Gerrard who’s my favorite female singer & has been for 30 years.

    Your reaction is my fave of all of the reactions I’ve seen. New subscriber here! 👋 They really knocked this one outta the park. Ear candy to the max and so emotional to watch too. Great reaction!!! BTW.... React to the artist Corvyx soon. He’s emotive, gothic, and has killer pipes. ♥️

    I'M IN THE CREDITS! Ahem. Sorry, I only just managed to get into a situation where I could join that level of patronage for them and this is the first one my name is in. I'll be honest, I've never liked this song. When I saw that this was going to be the first one with my name on, I was bummed. But what they did with it... Eli's arrangement is so dynamic, taking you through a whole emotional journey. And Cesar has been taking things to a whole new level it in the last couple of videos. They make you FEEL this. Something about just how deeply emotional the performance makes you feel the desperation of it. It just blew my mind and almost had me in tears. I have the most incredible crush on Geoff. lol

    They all show so much emotion in this one. It's just heartbreaking. We know Geoff wants a perfect body. Some of us think he's pretty perfect already. Most of us feel inadequate i some way but there's no such thing as normal. Watching Cesar shouting Run Run here takes me to the fact that a friend of his was shot in a gay club shooting. He had that to draw on, I'm sure. Who do I relate to? Hmm. I need to think about that.

  • @adamh211
    @adamh211 6 месяцев назад

    They are all absolutely incredible. I think every guy here wishes they could be Geoff (with that voice and range) or have Eli's rock God power and belts, or Laine's beatboxing.... but Cesar is always the one I just get run over by. His emotion that he puts into his parts are simply beautiful. I dont think I could ever pick a favorite out of this group... but Cesar is the one I most connect with when listening to them perform. One listen to their cover of "I cant make you love me" is all you need to understand what I am talking about. They are all legends in their own right, and each one has a compelling case for being the "favorite" tho...

    They do all their own work and do NOT copyright strike...enjoy without pauses if you like.

  • @Maerahn
    @Maerahn Год назад

    Don't worry, you will never get a copyright strike from Voiceplay - they're completely independent of any record company, and actually encourage reactors to react to their videos because they're grateful for the exposure.
    I'll be honest, my favourite is Eli all the way, but Cesar feels like a kindred soul to me. I could imagine having conversations with him about life, the universe and everything that would go on for DAYS.

    You missed something really cool - just bad timing with the pauses, twice. Go back and listen to Geoff’s solo part. Pay attention to the background. They did something super cool with bouncing the word “soul” back and forth super quick.
