The way the boys sang this is as though they all have had this experience and they are just releasing all the pain of love lost. Eli's arrangement pulled this out. The video with the mirrors was a masters class of stage and video craft. Dave? I appreciate your comments and reactions. Bravo to all!,

All of these guys are more than talented performers. Do you think they will produce original compositions soon? The arrangements are so good, there’s no doubting their knowledge of music theory. I have been watching them for a few years now, and they are the most interesting music “thread” for me. And that’s what it do. :)
Cesar has this amazing vulnerability in his voice that makes me want to cry. Everything about this cover was just amazing. They just keep topping themselves don't they?!? As always, Dave, I love you & everything you do. ❤💜💙🌈🤗
Cesar really makes you feel this song instead of just hearing it.
The emotions they displayed make all the difference in this. It might be because I’m a bit older than the original target audience. I was in my mid-30s when the song came out. But for me back then “Creep” seemed less about feeling out of place and more about realizing you were an actual stalker. I was relieved that she was able to run away! This song changes that for me. I was a bit hesitant to listen to it. But (as you said) the soul in this version really has me reeling.
I will say this again they are the most talented group that exists.

This is Cesar's mirror but Geoff's idea to use it that way.
They said it took them several days to film this. Two separate days for Cesar's 2 solos and he went straight into the same emotion he had in the beginning as if he filmed those together.

Dave, I always enjoy your reactions to Voiceplay and Geoff, really I do. But this cover from them was mind boggling! So beautiful, so sad, so easy to relate to it. They are wonderful. And this being Eli's arrangement, just knocks it out of the park!!

They all wing their hearts out i this but for me it's Anthony who really tugs at my heartstring. We all feel this way at times, like we don't belong. And so we identify, and cry.
I just love your facial expressions! They encapsulate all the emotions portrayed and felt here. I've never been a fan of this song but, once again, VoicePlay have made me appreciate a song that didn't previously move me. This was beautifully arranged and emotionally performed - a masterclass from the guys.

Eli absolutely nailed this. The arrangement is stunning. I’ve heard other versions including the original but none of them tear my heart out like this one did.
I love the use of the mirror and the utter sense of isolation. It just highlights vulnerability and self-doubt. Every one of them got to shine in their own special way, but for me it was Cesar’s acting. I have yet to get through this without tearing up.

VoicePlay always moves us, but in this cover it feels like we're standing on the edge of a cliff looking down and feeling the fall before jumping.

I only recently found “reaction” videos and find it interesting to see how people who understand music react.
Personally for me how music is made is a mystery. I can barely carry a tune in a bucket… but I know what I like to listen to.
Your explanation of the layers within the sound I find intriguing and hope to begin to recognise everything you describe. At the moment it’s a bit like me describing the breakdown of how a quilt was made when you were just thinking “I like how colourful and cosy it is” and can’t quite understand when I tell you how the Half Square Triangles and Triangle in a Square are combining to make straight lines appear to curve, and how the mix of print sizes are helping to make your eyes look all around the quilt to see it all.
Thank you for helping a nearly 62 year old to keep learning new stuff.

Dave, i just love you! Your energy and facial expressions are always priceless! Ive heard other artists cover this, esoecially for AGT try outs for some reason, and i identify with lyrics but not like this. Ive been that person talking to myself like that in the mirror several times since i was a teen and im 60 now. The emotion in this is sadness and beauty all at once. Those guys need a warm fuzzy hug! Dave loves and respects them. It was an honest slip up in the moment. Kindness understanding and gentle education goes a whooooole lot further in this world. Especially when it wasn't intentional disrespect. Believe me, Eli would rather Dave get his name wrong than have people being rude to others for the sake of his name.
