The px4 is actually in service with 29 countries around the world. Its actually the 5th most widely issued pistol series in the world (after the hi power, glock 17/19, beretta 92 series and sig p226/229 series)
I was ahead of the curve. The first handgun I ever bought, right after my 21st birthday was a full size Px4 9mm type F. I have put thousands of rounds through it and only had one failure beyond the constant failures that time I shot my friends incredibly shitty reloads through it and likely nearly injured myself. I have had this weapon for almost a decade now and I carry it off duty every single day. I am a cop and a soldier and I would bet my life on this handgun any day of the week and twice on Sundays. I don't say that lightly. It actually has saved my life.
I was a skeptic with the Px4 compact. The first thing I noticed is that the grip was so "slick" feeling I could not get a tight enough feel. The only two mods I made were Talon Grips & converting it to a Type G. Now I love it. It performs flawlessly and is my go-to range and carry gun.
Awesome! These were the first two changes I made, and loved it! However, if you want to make your PX4 even more fun to shoot, swap the hammer spring to Beretta's D-Spring or LTT's 11# or 12# - INCREDIBLE how much difference this makes! I installed the D-spring first and noticed a significant drop in DA/SA trigger pull weights. I noticed an additional drop when I switched to the LTT 11#. I now have the LTT 11# installed in my Inox full-size and compact and LOVE IT! Truly AMAZING what a
Beat me to this post, Jonathan (by *two years* I guess... lol! I'm sick of the "striker-fire cliques" that have developed in the shooting community. Having owned types (striker & hammer fired), & I prefer hammer, hands down... Way easier to assess visually (cocked, on-safe, etc) and way safer, imho
@@jmmartin7766 I agree with you 100%! I had a Glock and I was always having to see if it was safe or not, so I bought a Ruger P345 with the hammer and loved it. It gives me a much better feeling of safety. In 2014, I read about the PX4 Storm, so I went shopping. I saw my first one at a Sports Academy and fell in love FOR SURE. This is a beeyooteeful gun! Now, I know you aren't supposed to buy a gun for looks, but I did it anyway and when I took it to the range, I was hooked. This thing is MUCH smoother than my Ruger and I've used it in comparison to some other guns in the club I belong to. Nothing I fired (okay, maybe a Kimber did) was as smooth as the Beretta PX4 Storm. S&W, nothing comparable, Glock, okay, Colt, pretty good, but that's because it is heavier even another Baretta ( I think it was a 97), was not nearly as good. I've got a couple of friends that are part of the "striker cult" and we've fired each others guns. I wasn't able to win them over with my Beretta (I think they knew which was better, but just wouldn't admit it) and they sure didn't win me over (even though that Kimber I tried came close, but I can't afford one of those). OFF WITH THEIR HEADS ! LOL
Excellent video. It's nice to see the PX4 get some love. I've owned one for a couple years now & love it. Added the sub-compact to the collection for awhile, but recently moved it out. Really preferred the compact. Fits my hand perfectly. It's also way more accurate than I'm capable of coaxing from it. Don't see myself parting with this one anytime soon.
I am really gratified that DA/SA is coming back into "fashion", and that younger shooters are coming around to the benefits of this type of pistol. I may have to give the Px4 a try, but it will have a hard time beating my Walther P99cAS, which is a rarity in that the P99 is DA/SA and striker fired. I am enjoying your videos sir. thanks.
@@junichiroyamashita Yep. I had one back in 1998 before they were even called "AS" models. Mine was in .40 though and very snappy. I wish I had gotten it in 9mm, but that was during the assault weapons ban, so I could only have 10 round mags.
@@junichiroyamashita if you are still trying to figure it out, the trigger can cock the striker when in da, the pistol has a decocker which allows you to put it into da and of course when you rack the slide it precocks the striker for a sa trigger
I love your videos bro! The "content" of them are so professional, enlightening and thought-provoking in reference to considering different mindsets about firearms etc. Great stuff! My Glock 19 replacement is my HK P30. I love the HK's and all of mine are hammer fired DA/SA. My daughter though, just bought this PX4 Compact w/stainless steel slide. It's a very sweet pistol. We're taking it to the range tomorrow for a spin.
I found out 92G hammer springs fit the PX4s, so I put a Wilson Combat 12 pound spring in mine, along with the comp trigger, and it's been great. The DA pull is about 7.5 pounds, and the SA pull is about 3 pounds.
I picked mine up almost on a whim, and I absolutely love it. It shoots softly and well, and it's ridiculously reliable. I haven't seen a failure from it yet, but, then, 1500 rounds without a cleaning is not a use case in my life. The only thing I don't care for is the size of the bat wing decocker. I would absolutely buy it again. The PX4 is criminally underrated.
Why would one leave a gun unlubricated for so long ? This guy purports to train and educate others and to be fair hes good . Presumably the firearm was also not cleaned for that round count either so hardly fair or best practice either .Would you agree?
@@conlaiarla I can't see a scenario in my life where I'd go 1500 rounds without at least getting a brush and patches through it and getting a little lube on the slide and barrel.
The PX4 full size, along with a Remington 870 are my bedroom guns. I only have about 700 rounds through it but at this point it has not failed me yet. I have the 20 round magazine loaded with 19 rounds plus one on chamber for a total of 20 rounds of 124 grain Federal HST's. I have to agree with you that it is a very soft shooter. Thanks for the video.
I always have at least an old Alley Cat (which was retired due to its rarity) or a Tomcat in my pocket, and I think this PX4 Compact Carry will be my new carry or home gun, alternating with various Sig Sauers, a rebuilt surplus Hi Power, I call "Silver Blue and Gold" and a Sphinx Alpha compact. I use the 147 grain HSTs in my Glock 43 BUG, which has kind of replaced the Tomcat, but not really. It depends on what I am wearing that day. I can zip 8 .32ACPs into a group the size of a volley ball from 40 yards with that tiny Beretta mouse gun, and I always have between 7 and 21 more rounds box magged up and ready to go again. The thing I dislike about Glock is, it's not a good gun right out of the box, and the first thing you do, is spend more money on the dumb things. $1 plastic sights, a mediocre trigger, a slide that is barely adequate, grips, extended slide release, and you are up way over $1000 really fast, and it;s still just another Glock. The PX4 shoots better, but so does the $350 Turkish made Canik, or Sar for that matter. My father worked for the feds, so I knew just because the cops used it, or military, did NOT even make it good, therefore it was certainly not going to be great. Usually those guns spent 99.95% of their time in a holster, until qualifying time came up again. That's not a bad thing, especially when it's your daddy who is out there, not needing to use a gun.
I dont want to sound judgemental ( what people do in the privacy of their own bedroom is their own business ) but that's a hell of a kink you got going on ... Only joking.🤣. Great combination of guns . Best wishes.
Dude I love your channel and look forward to your videos every time. I feel like you're much more objective than other channels. I appreciate your opinion too. In the interest of full disclosure, I am still on the Glock 19 bandwagon.
I owned the full size back in 2005 and didn't have much luck. It just would not feed! Quickly sold it. Now I've been eyeballing this compact! What a sexy looking gun too! Great review
These are a great pistol. It’s got comfort, capacity, and a unique operating system. The only drawback is the slick grip. I’ve got Talons on mine as well.
You either love it or hate it. I have one in .40 cal and it shoots great and I love how it looks. I think the recoil on my .40 is less than on my 92FS with 9mm. I love, love, love this gun and it is my daily concealed carry. By the way, put in a DPM recoil system and it shoots even softer. I can put two .40 cals right next to each other once I put that in place.
I had a co-worker friend who was a retired police officer. The compact version was his duty weapon. He liked it so much that he bought one and its his carry gun now.
If only :D lets hope. I have been carrying a Glock 19 for years and although i don't dislike it I am very annoyed with Glocks lack of innovation due to their over popularity. I am excited for the competition. Also of late have become obsessed with all things CZ.
I've been carrying this pistol for 3 years now and have no complaints. I did have Trijicon night sights installed on it, and plan to buy the Type G conversion kit to make it decock only. That kit seems to be out of stock everywhere now though.
True but Beretta sells a kit that includes low-profile decocker handles as well as a low-profile slide catch. And it's been out of stock forever... www.berettausa.com/en-us/beretta-px4-safety-and-slide-catch-low-prof-typ-g-only-/e00348/
I picked the PX 4 compact because I'm "wrong-handed" and having the option to release the slide with the lever if I'm ever in a gun fight and have to reload is a must for me. I own the FNS 9 compact which is striker fired. but I love the long first pull of the DA/SA Beretta. the FNX grip is too long for me to conceal properly and comfortably. And my accuracy with the PX4 is top notch compared to any other pistols I own except my XD and XDm. but I leave trigger components stock. I have no issues changing cosmetics like sights, grip tape, or even colors. I learned in the Army Infantry that trigger weight doesn't matter, 10 pounds feels like 2 pounds under stress, but the smoother the trigger pull the better. great video!
Looks like a nice weapon. Another consideration for this class of handgun is the CZ 75D PCR or its sister the P01. Also compact yet large enough to essentially shoot like a full size, light-ish weight, phenomenal build quality, and incredible reliability at a relatively affordable price, especially for an aluminum frame handgun. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up
Excellent video. Very thoughtful, honest and balanced. I look forward to hearing about your progress as you continue to test the PX4 along with the other DA/SA guns you mentioned. Keep up the good work.
I picked one up a few months ago for 419.00 brand new I thought it was a mistake and so glad I bought this and yes it does look chunky but don't pass by one in your local gun shop. I have owned striker fired until this one and this one is on it's way to my carry gun.
I have a full sized PX4 decocker only. The PX4 is comfortable in my hands. I can reach the slide release so I don't have to use my support hand to send the slide home. its very accurate and didn't cost a kings ransom. My ONLY complaint is aftermarket support isn't up to the level of its competitors.
I started out carrying striker fired but then converted to DA/SA several years ago before it began making a come back. And just a few days ago when i went back to a G26 appendix, it seemed mentally as if i was carrying a 1911 with the safety off.
At this point I think Beretta is the best gun company out there. Not only are they cool because they’re one of if not the oldest companies around in general, they make the best full size 9mm handgun, they make great little concealed carry options, they own Benelli which is of course a great shotgun brand, but did you guys also know that Beretta technically owns stoeger? So not only do they sell all these classic and new high end firearms, but they also sell fantastic affordable options too! Stoeger shotguns are cheap(er) and very good, while they also make a glock knockoff in compact or full size that is REALLY cheap which I own and love, along with a stoeger double barrel that makes me incredibly happy to shoot. On top of all that, the presentation is pristine. My stepdad just got a new 92g and it came with 3 extra magazines in a really nice case. Meanwhile I just bought a Kimber for twice the price and got a shitty nylon zip bag in a cardboard box with literally not one other thing but the papers and ads.
After shooting the px4 storm full size, my extra medium hands needed a few sessions to get used to this pistol. It was my very first gun and my very first shot from a gun ever. Loaded with lawman .40, it was at first quite the POW! But never felt like it was out of control. I do wish grip was a touch more narrow, but whatever the gun, Please take time to get practice in w your weapon of choice
For a company that was started nearly 500 years ago.Pietro Beretta has set the bench mark for weapons design and reliability. The PX4 is the official side arm of the South African police force. How many weapons making companies put 150.000 rounds down range to test for any possible failure, before the weapon is certified for sale.To visit the Beretta factory in Gardone Val Trompia by appointment, the cost is $ 5000.Quality comes at a premium price and so it should.Just look at any Beretta shotgun and see the meticulous engraving and craftmansip that goes into these fine weapons. My brother in law was a Springbok Clay Pidgeon member his shotgun was a work of art.
I have a full sized PX4 and love it. I tested a bunch of different ones before I chose my PX4, and I still ended up with the Storm. Being pretty unknown compared to some of the other polymer handguns, the seal that trained me to shoot was surprised at how well it shot. I do think the twisting breach lock does help with muzzle flip, but it could be just me. Thanks for the review of the compact, I am seriously considering a CCW and have been wondering what gun to look at for my daily driver.
bought my wife the px4 compact in 9mm. she loves it. she's 4'10 and not many guns fit her hands, but she said the px4 was perfect. and she loves the mechanics of it with its rotating barrel. I'll be switching out the trigger for her soon so it's lighter with less take-up.
how will you be switching out the trigger? I'm a female have the compact 9mm too & thinking about selling it cause I hate the heavy DA weight. Also, I hate the sights on it too. Thanks
+SwanLakeLibra Beretta makes a trigger kit for it that lightens the trigger pull. I haven't seen anyone who's done it yet, but it can't make it worse. the double action trigger isn't bad if you're used to shooting revolvers, which we all shoot pretty regularly. honestly for carry, if I'm going to have a gun that does double action and single action, I'll go with a cz. their compact models are sweet. but my wife loves her Beretta and enjoys shooting it so it's what she has chosen to be her carry piece, so I'll give the trigger a try and change the decocker/safety to recover only. it'll make it a much better carry option.
+TietLung The trigger kit is unnecessary. The Beretta "D" spring made for the PX4 or the Cougar will lighten the double action trigger enough to be more manageable.
+Lucky Gunner Ammo true, but I want the take up in the trigger, taken out. it has a lot of unnecessary slack in the trigger. and the single action press can definitely be made better than it is. I dont get why companies do this with their triggers. Springfield is guilty of it too with their xd and xdm line. I'm putting a powder River kit in my XD to make it more how a single action trigger should be. hoping the kit Beretta offers is similar to that.
I own a Px4 full size and have passed around 2,500 rounds thru it with no malfunction. I love this handgun and wouldnt change it for another polymer gun.
God am I tired of constantly hearing “glock 19.” I’m sure that has a little to do with why I carry this. Also the utility of a DA/SA trigger when you actually need to draw and fire the weapon, but don’t want to have a loaded weapon with no safety pointed at my left testicle. And the ridiculous durability thanks to the over-built, hammer-forged rotating barrel, and fully supported chamber. And did I mention the trigger is awesome? It’s awesome. And the ergonomics; Great stock grip. And the reliability; Better than a glock 19 according to a few tests. More rounds between stoppages, and until parts breakage, mostly due to the two opposed extractors and, again, over-built locking mechanism. Then there’s the implied mechanical accuracy advantage, but I haven’t seen data on that. Oh, and the factory sights are solid. Yeah I’m saying this straight up; This is a better gun than the glock 19. Harder, better, faster, stronger.
You might also want to look at the Grand Power P1 Ultra or the P11. These are Slovakian rotating barrel pistols with great ergonomics. I carry a P40 10mm and with hot loads recoil feels less than my 45 acp.
Love your videos and love Berettas. I have a 96A1 and the pX4 compact and they're both great guns. I prefer DA/SA hammer fired pistols over striker fired. I have a Walther PPS and Canik TP9SA, but prefer my hammer fired Berettas.
True! This gun world is not a "one size fits all" thing! We're all different in size, shapes, mindsets, personalities and temperaments. There is no way that what works for me would work for you or visa versa. As crazy as the world is now the goal is to just carry something!
I have this gun and love it..Yet to jam with about 700 rounds through it..and love the grip to trigger feel..Better overall then the Subcomact as I'm told that one has a plastic rail vs. metal on the Compact
I think that rotation takes some of the recoil. .. Perhaps if it was modified further some how with a heavy spring device. I always liked the shape of compact berretas. Ever since I saw one in Minority Report movie. Looks futuristic.... well.... it did back then.
You make very good and very well done videos. Adult, literate, logical, methodical and not hysterica, biasesl or incoherent like too many other "good ole boys" gun centered videos. I've been considering the Beretta PX4 line of pistols for both carry and home defense. If you haven't already, please discuss the issue of is a compact pistol also suitable for a home defense weapon in a smaller house or would it be better or necessary to have a full size weapon for all purposes. Where would you consider a full size (approx 4 inch or longer barrel) and capacity to be better and or more necessary. Thank you. Again,... very well made and spoken videos.
Any gun you would carry can also be used for home defense. A larger gun might give you more capacity, but do you know of any home defense cases where more than 15 rounds were needed? If you shoot a larger gun significantly better than your carry gun, that is worth considering. I shoot a full size Beretta 92 a little better than the PX4 compact, but inside of 15 yards, the difference is negligible. If you like the PX4 Compact, you will get far more benefit from spending your money on training and ammo than buying a bigger gun designated for the home.
I have a sub compact for my carry. Absolutely factory 13 rounds ought to be plenty with a spare mag or two. The backstraps they offered with the firearm fit it exactly to my hand. Which is missing a pinky and the reason I went with a sub compact; got a dangling finger using a sub, just lop that thing off . Being ex infantry for last century I prefer berettas because of my extensive range time with them I am very comfortable with the SA/DA de cocker system and honestly I think it’s the safest way to carry. I’d carry my M9 (my favorite handgun)but it’s just too big
agreed. I'm so surprised. I had my mother (who knows guns shoot bullets....that's it.) check out both the Px4 subcompact and an HK P2000sk. After running through a series of clearing drills and dry firing with a couple mags full of snap caps. I asked her what she thought and what she liked better. She said the PX4 Subcompact by a mile. She thought that the Beretta had to cost at least twice as much. Sorry, ma. After the Beretta Mail in Rebate the HK was three times more expensive. I sort of agree. Crazy!
Have to agree. With the HK 30 SK (subcompact) the trigger pull was very heavy and long in DA, I handled a PX4 subcompact today and the trigger was much better. Plus, it was much cheaper.
I own a Beretta 92FS, P89, P95, & a P90 from Ruger, and an FEG .380, all dbl/single, except for DAO S&W 6946 and S&W Bodyguard. 380. Love that trigger, even though I also love my collection of Glocks...19 G4 at the top of my list.
Good review...I have mostly 92's but I am thinking about trying out the new PX4 compact carry. Do have the PX4 full size and its been totally reliable also.
I have this in .40. Seldom carry it because of the weight. Mags are hard to find with the flip down extension and expensive when you find one. It’s accurate enough but you’d better hold on. It’ll want to flip out of your hand.
I miss carrying DA/SA. I reluctantly went over to G19 when I couldn't find a DA/SA compact that had the features I was looking for/ was small enough/ in my price range.
Excellent informative video. I just purchased a Grand Power P11. It's very similar to the PX 4 Storm. Would love to see a video on the Grand Power. Thanks for sharing.
The first non P35 (Hi Power) I went with, was the limited edition Sig P228R and then the P226Rs and 229Rs Picatinny rail frame DA/SA hammer fired guns. I was shooting Fabrique Herstal of Belgium made Browning Hi Powers P35s as a kid, and in the 1970s that was the best gun in the world to me, after I took it apart, and polished up some of the internal parts.. They fed anything and everything I ever put into a factory magazine. It was either the Browning, stuff like Astras, Stars, Llamas, or the venerable old 1911, for me. The 1911 offered 8 or 9 rounds vs 14 or 16, and you could even get 32 round box mags for the P35??? Hmm? Shot placement, plus having 5-27 more Hydroshock 9x19mm cartridges, seemed better than adequate, and 9x19mm +P or ++P ammo has only gotten better. There were scads of 1911s left over from WWII, and the best WWII era 1911 I ever fired was NOT even made Colt, or even by a gun company. It was made by The Union Switch and Signal Corp., a manufacturer & supplier of railroad signals, and switching devices. Even the, at that time still in the work force, WWII vets had mixed feelings about the 1911/1911A1. The hardcore guys who reloaded, and custom loaded ammo, usually had few good things to say about "the old GI slab sides". One of the most respected hardcore WWII gun vets, and a certified neighborhood crank, said "They were ""just awful""'. I have been or had been looking for a Grand Power P1 compact rotating barrel carry gun, but no one had one in stock. I had a come one in, but, amazing, once again, we just sold it, but we can order one in for you. Oh and if you don't like the gun we just sold you, sight unseen, there is a 40% restocking fee. Yeah, f--k that! I really want to go sell a gun through an ad online, and deal with more idiots, and the sale of a weapon. I already deal with idiots selling guitars/amplifiers, online, and it's just TERRIBLE. They all act like I must really need to sell everything at half it's fair market value, or I won't eat, or get my heroin fix for the day, or something. No, if I sell stuff I made at less money than it cost me to make it, I won't eat, but that concept eludes so many of them, and they just add to the cost with my time, which they wasted more of. I'll take a loss on a gun, but there are limits. Glock 19? Meh! I think Glock's quality has slid, with the omission of, or is it just inferior Tenifer coatings? Smith & Wesson's Melanite coating is much much better than Tenifer, in my opinion. If Glock wants to stay relevant, maybe they should pay S&W $5 per gun to use Melanite on Glock pistols. I would pay the extra $5. I'd pay $10.
I carry my 92 daily and yes with a good belt and OWB holster it is concealable even in T shirt and shorts! My G 19 with light is my bedside weapon. DA/SA just lends itself to a feeling of safety and having trained to a service handgun, I feel naked without it!
Nice review! I bought a CZ P07 (Gen 2) for use as my AIWB winter carry vs. my Glock 19. I also bought a Vedder LightTuck kydex holster for it that is simply fantastic. Don't want to be misunderstood here though. The Glock 19 is a great pistol! However, I couldn't comfortably carry it anywhere except at the appendix position. As such, I wasn't comfortable with the DAO trigger on the G19 pointing straight down towards some very vital areas, vs. the DA/SA action of the CZ P07. In addition, the contouring of the grip and slide is (for some reason) more comfortable for me to carry vs. the G19. I still use my G43 (replaced my G27) as my summer carry in a leather/kydex OWB holster at 3 O'clock with an un-tucked shirt. I think the PX4 compact is a nice option as well, but I have to say I really love the P07 (it's my first CZ of any type).
YES! I've been waiting for this review. I too have become enamored with DA/SA pistols for concealed carry as of late. I have also wearing an M&P9c daily but for safety reasons want a different action. I've been shooting and handling DA/SA pistols regularly for the last several month and have narrowed my selection down to this pistol, its little subcompact brother, the Sig P224 and P229. I'd love to hear what you think of those pistols as well. I've noticed your Sig P229 Legion in your videos. Keep this awesome series rolling!! Your channel has fast become my favorite!
+Lucky Gunner Ammo Agreed about size and weight! The P224 is to the P229 as the G26 is to the G19. Unfortunately Sig just discontinued the model this week. I shot one last week and it was a dream. As you know from handling the P229 Legion that SRT trigger IS PHENOMENAL!
Hey Chris. New to your channel. Love it. New gun owner. Never shot any gun until 2 weeks ago when I bought my px4 storm type f 40. It was awsome man. Going again on Monday. How do you feel about this gun many years after you've owned it yourself. Any personal tips for a new guy who is in love?
Had to carry a px4 for work for years. I hated it. I could not work the safety and the double action pull was horrible. I have to completely alter my grip or use my left hand to deactivate the safety. The trigger reach is way to short for my hands. The m9s is perfect for me.. Not to mention it was cared for by an armorer. If I could care for it and have a decocker only model I would give it another try.
I just wish for the life of me they would have made the dust cover more aggressive. It's got like three stages of lines that undercut excellent lines from the slide. The finger spot has a drop off just past it, then the rail, but then the rail is cut shorter than the full length of the frame, then there's more frame, then the round area with the recoil spring housing. It's an odd choice of design line work. The feel in the hand is great though. Excellent trigger.
I have a px4 on the way to me, and generally prefer hammer fired pistols to striker fired. That said, didnt Berreta move away from hammer fired pistols to striker fired models like the APX?
Great production. And same decision I made based off similar info and conversations. It would be great to see other DA/SA manufacturers such as Tanfoglio, CZ and HK featured in the future.
The px4 is actually in service with 29 countries around the world. Its actually the 5th most widely issued pistol series in the world (after the hi power, glock 17/19, beretta 92 series and sig p226/229 series)

LOL
The PX4 IS an Amazing pistol. I really like them.
I am enjoying your videos sir. thanks.
Da/sa and striker?
@@junichiroyamashita Yep. I had one back in 1998 before they were even called "AS" models. Mine was in .40 though and very snappy. I wish I had gotten it in 9mm, but that was during the assault weapons ban, so I could only have 10 round mags.
@@mig1nc i mean,how can it be both?
@@junichiroyamashita if you are still trying to figure it out, the trigger can cock the striker when in da, the pistol has a decocker which allows you to put it into da and of course when you rack the slide it precocks the striker for a sa trigger
so what are its benefits?
I love your videos bro! The "content" of them are so professional, enlightening and thought-provoking in reference to considering different mindsets about firearms etc. Great stuff!
My Glock 19 replacement is my HK P30. I love the HK's and all of mine are hammer fired DA/SA. My daughter though, just bought this PX4 Compact w/stainless steel slide. It's a very sweet pistol. We're taking it to the range tomorrow for a spin.
I have the full size and compact version of the PX4 Storm in 9mm, I love them.
Jessi Taylor
I’d like to eventually get one.
Gerrit Peacock
Thinking about getting one. You like it?
I found out 92G hammer springs fit the PX4s, so I put a Wilson Combat 12 pound spring in mine, along with the comp trigger, and it's been great. The DA pull is about 7.5 pounds, and the SA pull is about 3 pounds.
Great idea!!
I shot the 40 version and fell in love, the price has finally started to go down which makes me finally be able to to consider it.
love the reviews and all the content. hope this channel gets the views it deserves.
I’m pretty sure this weapon will be in my edc rotation pretty soon
800 rounds, zero failures.
PX4 Storm and Remi 870 are my home defense weapons as well. Reliable and dependable are the first words that come to mind for both weapons.
124 grain HST is my choice as well.
Best 9mm I’ve shot! Never have had problems with grips and it has never jammed in years of firing
Love my Ruger P89 as will many future generations.
That in my opinion is the best looking handgun out there!
I agree, especially since every new gun seems to copy glock now 🙄 that is starting to get really old
I owned the full size back in 2005 and didn't have much luck. It just would not feed! Quickly sold it. Now I've been eyeballing this compact! What a sexy looking gun too! Great review
Bought a PX4 compact last week, so far I replaced the hammer spring with a 8000 D spring.
was the spring tough to remove? I heard it was.
+XboobtubeX It's a pain, but not terribly difficult if you have the right tools and three hands.
Why did u have to replace it?. Im lookin to get my first gun and had my eye on the conpact px4 storm.
These are a great pistol. It’s got comfort, capacity, and a unique operating system. The only drawback is the slick grip. I’ve got Talons on mine as well.
my gosh, what a great review. you are brutally honest, quick to the point, and the video is just fantastic. much thanks.
I have the sub compact and love it. Eats any ammo I feed it. Manageable recoil. Got the 17rd mags with grip extension. Awesome.
Great video. I've been interested in a px4 Storm for awhile now, and this was very helpful. Thanks Doug
I'd love to see a PX4 in a steel or aluminum frame.
Stoeger 8000, boyo
Beretta "Cougar" 8000 was out in '94
I feel like a px4 hipster I bought mine 12 years ago the weekend I turned 21. Never a single regret.
Sir, If you haven't already check out the CZ P07. It is going to be my DA/SA Glock 19.
The thing shoots amazing.
Indeed sir, have you seen the new P10c they are coming out with. They are taking a run at the Glock 19 market segment HARD!
If only :D lets hope. I have been carrying a Glock 19 for years and although i don't dislike it I am very annoyed with Glocks lack of innovation due to their over popularity. I am excited for the competition. Also of late have become obsessed with all things CZ.
I have a 07 I carry daily I actually shoot it better than the 09
MrWatson2001 i hate myself most days because I had a CZ P07 and sold it for a glock go figure lol
pso89 wise decision. 🇺🇸🗽🦅🇦🇹
I've been carrying this pistol for 3 years now and have no complaints. I did have Trijicon night sights installed on it, and plan to buy the Type G conversion kit to make it decock only. That kit seems to be out of stock everywhere now though.
+SSHitMan No kit is required to convert the PX4 to a G. Just remove an existing piece. Plenty of videos on RUclips with detailed instructions
I owned my Px4 storm type F , for several years. It is the favorite semi auto, that I have.
If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up
I have a sub compact. very nice gun.
You sir are a great salesman, I will shoot a beretta px4 and consider buying one. I’ve never owned a double action but I’m intrigued.
I'm wondering if you would look at the Px4 sub compact too. I had the full size Px4 in 9mm, I loved it. But I like my 92 more.
The bad thing is that the subcompact doesnt have the rotating barrel sistem, that is the most desirable feature of the model.
My subcompact Px4 Storm in .40 S&W has less felt recoil than expected, fwiw. 100% reliable so far. I find that I'm accurate out to 10 yards.
Might be a little late here but the guitar in the intro to this video is from a song called "blood on my name" by Brothers Bright. Very good song.
Just re-watched this review. Can't wait for this week's "Part 2"!
Another solidly done review. Thanks
Been my EDC for years now. Love it!
I have a full size PX4 and I absolutely love this gun!! I want to make it my carry gun but, it’s kinda heavy.
Beretta always makes great weapons !
"Striker fired perfection" - I see what you did there.
Excellent video. Its nice to see people branching out to find what really works for THEM, rather than what people say should work.
True! This gun world is not a "one size fits all" thing! We're all different in size, shapes, mindsets, personalities and temperaments. There is no way that what works for me would work for you or visa versa. As crazy as the world is now the goal is to just carry something!
mine keep jamming up alot
I have this gun and love it..Yet to jam with about 700 rounds through it..and love the grip to trigger feel..Better overall then the Subcomact as I'm told that one has a plastic rail vs. metal on the Compact
Cant wait for the Compact Carry to hit the market.
The rotating barrel reminds me of the Beretta Cougar.
the langdon tactical PX4 compact carry is amazing.
looking forward to the Langdon model aka the compact carry with all the upgrades
Would love to use it in IDPA BUG. If only USPSA would have a CCP or BUG equivalent...
Maybe you could do a review on the FN FNS9C sometime, thinking of picking that up as my first carry gun.
Beretta doesn’t need glock shooters money . The Px4 is superior in every way .
I have a sub compact for my carry. Absolutely factory
13 rounds ought to be plenty with a spare mag or two.
I just ordered this. I'm stoked to try it out.
If I may recommend try the Sphinx SDP Compact and also the CZ 75D PCR will blow your mind.
Chris you should do a muzzle velocity comparison to the glock 19
My EDC is a PX4 Compact. LOVE LOVE LOVE this pistol. Considering converting it to a G model and adding some night sights.
Yes the full size fit in both the compact and subcompact
+Clint Hymes Exactly why I discourage using .40 in a gun this size.
Just a gun you might want to look att which has a similar style is the Bersa TPR9C? A little bit less pricey also!🤔
You need to review the Hk P2000sk LEM. It's my go to carry gun and the quality is Porsche like!
I carry my 92 daily and yes with a good belt and OWB holster it is concealable even in T shirt and shorts! My G 19 with light is my bedside weapon. DA/SA just lends itself to a feeling of safety and having trained to a service handgun, I feel naked without it!
Another great video. Hopefully you are trying out a p07 also.
I have the p-09 with a bunch of cajun gunworks internals that I swapped out, and love it. One of these days a p-07 will join it for easier carry!
Debating between this and the Walter ppk; 2 different animals I know, but man that Beretta is nice.
The P229 is a nice gun but it's quite a step up in weight and size from the M&P9c. Haven't heard much about the P224.
I'm only three years late...the sorta high bore axis reminds me of the 10mm pistol in the Fallout universe.
You mentioned you were evaluating several DA/SA carry pistols,... have you considered the Sphinx or H&K P30S? (although the Sphinx is pretty heavy)
The rotating barrel creates a more linear recoil than a tipping barrel system thus less perceived muzzle rise.
Wheelie guy checking in here. That looks like a very nice pistol. Maybe we can spur a resurgence in traditional DA/SA subcompact .32s.
Hey Chris. New to your channel. Love it. New gun owner. Never shot any gun until 2 weeks ago when I bought my px4 storm type f 40. It was awsome man. Going again on Monday. How do you feel about this gun many years after you've owned it yourself. Any personal tips for a new guy who is in love?
gilbert carmona What was it like shooting firearms for the first time?
Had to carry a px4 for work for years. I hated it. I could not work the safety and the double action pull was horrible. I have to completely alter my grip or use my left hand to deactivate the safety. The trigger reach is way to short for my hands. The m9s is perfect for me.. Not to mention it was cared for by an armorer. If I could care for it and have a decocker only model I would give it another try.
All it needs is adjustbale flat trigger amd its solid.
On a double action pistol?
I just wish for the life of me they would have made the dust cover more aggressive. It's got like three stages of lines that undercut excellent lines from the slide.
The finger spot has a drop off just past it, then the rail, but then the rail is cut shorter than the full length of the frame, then there's more frame, then the round area with the recoil spring housing.
It's an odd choice of design line work.
The feel in the hand is great though.
Excellent trigger.
Have you a chance to use the Compact Carry?
I’ve shot this and it’s noticeably easier to shoot well than pretty much every other semi auto I’ve shot often(glock 19 M9 and sig p226)
