- In this vlog I talk about how gaming in the future will be boring. I'm also considering getting some games graded. Was the 6th generation in gaming the best? I think so!!

I have training all day tomorrow so I figured I'd get the car vlog video out a day early. What are your thoughts on graded video games?
I would love to see a video showing your process of getting games graded. The submission process, how long it takes to get them back. That would be an awesome video
"Grading" games is a ridiculous abomination
yup, that's the plan. Full disclosure of costs, time etc. I know Matt at Forever Games so I'm sure he wouldn't have a problem with me documenting the process.
Cool to have a video depicting your feelings for collecting 10 years ago to today.
Thanks man. I think we all have great memories of gaming through the decades
I am still not ready for an all digital future. I have a backlog of games so there's plenty of years there until I cave.
Graded should just be for self and not a hope for a market. Like you were saying Chris about manipulation it just made me lose interest. I thought about slabbing my sealed RE3 on PS1, but decided to sell it. Even graded it would have only fetched me $50 on top so I wasn't worried.
I have this weird notion that we'll see graded download codes in the near future. Heh heh
Yeah I feel like I own more games than I could ever play.
I think the fourth generation was the best
Good ole SNES, Genesis & TG-16. I have that as my second best, but it is still very good. I remember seeing super mario world for the first time and I thought it looked so bright and colorful that games couldn't get any better..lol. The 4th generation has probably the best "staying power" as an adult I'm still completely mesmerized and intrigued by the TG-16. A great generation for sure.
I think that was the sweet spot for me. Seeing how they were all fighting for the consumers dollar while making each system great.
Awesome video Chris! I definitely don't look forward to an all digital future except for saving space. However I won't be saving space on the HD🙄
I have a few random 3DO and Atari Jaguar games I'd like to get graded just to have. Definitely not by WATA lol. Probably by VGA.
Thanks man. I'm looking at CGC, because I know one of their reps he owns the store in Gahanna.
@@CMRetroGaming My friend from work got stuff graded by them. I might do the same, especially since they are always at TMG. I can physically hand over my games knowing they will be in good hands.
I missed this for a bit.
Man I love the car vids. This is coming along. Glad I got this recommendation after the response video. I loved it. The stories were great!! 👍 👍 👍
Man the whole industry needs a kick in the ass. We need to talk sometime.
I wonder why grading cost is dependent on the going rate of a game. Why is that the model? Do they take more care when grading a game when it costs more? Is insurance built-in so if they damage a game, they pay the customer? Good luck with that Duck Tales 2. Sometimes high cost stuff takes a long time to sell. I haven't graded any games, so maybe that market is different. I do think grading has severely reduced the cost of ungraded comics and also reduced the chance to sell ungraded comics even with really nice pics. Any time I sell comics, it takes a while.
I think it's because they feel they can get more money out of the person with the higher end games.
@@CMRetroGamingThe whole thing is a money-making scheme. I sell games, but grading "pieces" takes it to a level where it's not about the game any more, it's solely about stock growth / investment. Rich people buy art pieces and store them in vaults. Will games turn into the same industry? Probably not, because painters made one painting. Nintendo printed thousands of Marios.
I’m also out of the modern gaming scene. I still haven’t purchased a PS5 and I have no desire to
me either man. I also feel like the games are all the same and let's be honest I'm never going to care about the GTA V Remastered-Remasterd game. I think they are all out of ideas..lol
I have a few sealed I was thinking about getting graded. I mostly collect for the PS2,PS3, and PS4 now.
Love my PS3 collection, always looking to add something cool to it.
You have a PlayStation 7!? lol I’m looking forward to seeing your Top 10. FLEX w a 40!!!
Sixth is really good but PS3 had some great games too across it's whole cycle, after that we got less and less. So far I haven't had any issues with any of the major PC platforms. All the issues I have had still plague the consoles as well, server shutdown type scenarios for games online functionality. Users always end up patching the games I tend to have if there is a issue that the company doesn't fix. Steams my favorite spot but EA is coming around their system seems to have smoothed out the bugs again after ditching origin. Have a ton of free games from all of them and some of those are actually good games, not too many free ones from Steam but Epic & gog are doing free games and I collected most of the EA ones back in the day.
I enjoyed the dream cast. I thought the sports games on dreamcast were Good
Graded video games are creepy and it's a gross invasion of the hobby by big wig types
I think in part that its just sort of a part of the collecting process, but it is very un-inclusive as most people can't afford to be a part of that section of the hobby. Like I said if it's a sealed game that is never going to be opened and played I don't see a problem with it as most people are living check to check and it might give them a way to create breathing room in their live. But, yeah there are some very serious ethical issues specifically in that section of the hobby. I would also never tell someone what to do with their games or money either, so I guess I'm indifferent to it.
