For anyone using the megascan pluggin, make the following changes to import assets correctly. C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\4.2\scripts\startup\MSPlugin line 290 - self.CreateTextureNode("roughness", -1150, -60, 1, True, 7) #replace 7 with 2 line 296 - self.CreateTextureNode("roughness", -1150, -60, 1, True, 7) #replace 7 with 2 line 318 - self.CreateNormalNodeSetup(True, 19) #replace 19 with 5 line 331 - self.mat.node_tree.nodes[self.parentName].inputs[4].default_value = 1 if self.isMetal else 0 # replace last 0 with 1

Question. why is the texture I exported from quixel bridge appear to be just a principle bsdf no matter what texture i choose. I've installed the addon in blender. the export was also successful as it says on quixel bridge. but the texture ball are just all blank. is there anyway to fix that? Thank you so much !
i've tried exporting my asset to the blender software but the color material won't show up to neither shading viewports. how do i get the colors to show up?
great video thanks! For things I modeled myself, is it still better to export it into quixel bridge and then from there to UE5 or is it better to texture it in Blender with this plugin? Cheers
I usually texture everything in Blender and export it in a folder as a fbx file and import that into UE5. Sometimes you have to do some texturing again in UE5 because the textures dont always import correctly. Hope that helps
@@domijust4816 to be honest the few times I tried it the files were really messd up. But maybe with newer updated it works better. In the end use that what works best for you and is the fastest :)
when i export from quixel bridge, all the objects inside the fbx are scattered, the materials are not setup up at all. Please look in this issue, Is there something wrong i did. Please let me know.
i have the addon but dont know how to intsall the actuall app i can only use it on browser and it doesnt go to blender only unreal and unity i need help pls
They are making some big changes right now with the new platform called "FAB". They dont have an app right now and the bridge doesnt seem to work, so sadly we have to wait until they have updated everything :/
You can install multiple versions of Blender. I have been using Blender 3.6 to import all this stuff from Bridge. I don't save individual .blend projects for each Quixel asset, I import all assets from Bridge (or large clumps of new assets) and organize them into collections. Then I can append or link objects from the 3.6 project in 4.0+ and all of the materials are already set up. This is a huge time savings over manually rebuilding materials from scratch.
Do you mean IOR value? and mine is set to 1.45 by default and it doesnt work. I tired the value 1, 0 and 2 but nothing changed. Can you explain more detailed?@blenderrenders1
Why Blender is lame. Plugins I use require the 4.0 version in a project, then the Quixel plugin requires 3.6 for full functionality, whereas plugins are necessary for a full scene created for a client, the plugins all require older and newer versions.
Hey yeah that a bit stupid but they always bring out versions which will stay for longtime. For example version 3.6 is one of them. Close to all plugins and also quixel work in that version. I still understand your point because blender is new and it gets updated alot which results in many plugins not working. My tip is only use newer versions when you really see a benefit otherwise stick to the big versions like 3.6 🙏🏼 hope it helps

Are you using blender 4.0 or newer? The textures only export for blender 3.6 they havent updated their plugin for blender 4.0 yet

go to prefrences then file path then choose import method to link

My quixel bridge automatically unzipped so I could open it… so do I rezip the entirety of what was downloaded to install the plug in? I don’t get it
Yes you need to select the .zip folder to install the plugin. No need to open the folder :)

Download the 4.0 plugin then the texture will apply after you export

No materials were brought with it and there are no nodes to plugin the texxtures either. :(
