this guy was our raid lead for a while and was able to posture him self into leadership roles along with some of his friends. We reformed to get rid of him and some other players and after we did that we are 15/15 naxx. the way jake raid leads is super toxxic and demoralizing and brings down moral, if your actually trying to prog as a guild you can't act like this guy. he pushed hard for people to swipe for gold to buy gear and consumes in gdkps ect he loves to tell every one how dogshit they are and would rather gkick and remove them then figure out how to help them fix what they are doing wrong in the raid. keep in mind all this is happening in an LC PROG GUILD during bwl progs and some aq40 lite. I should dig out my footage honestly i have over a years worth of footage from every single raid we did as a guild before during and after jake was apart of it. from zg and aq20 to mc and all the way to NAXX 15/15.
You can push people to do better, but only to a point. In Phase Seven here we are setting NA and hopefully soon world records, but we have about 8 of the original 40 raiders we started pushing with. Those who refused to go engineering, or just were a warm body, were replaced or left on their own good terms. Simply because they were content with more casual stuff, which is totally fine. If I go skiing imma stay on the bunny hill, if my friends wanna do the black diamond go for it.
a lot of the ppl still play, just in different raids. Indeed some ppl move on from era, some take breaks. ahhh life... When is our dynamic duo gonna happen, I have a horde rogue you know :)@@JakeFromTree
I loved this video, it was insightful and reminded me why I love raid leading and playing WoW I think towards the end of the video you summed up my thoughts on the whole argument of pushing people to better themselves. As a leader, i've found that nothing feels better than inspiring someone to improve themself, even when they don't think they can, but on the other hand, you can't make someone get better at something that they don't want to become better at. There is only so much you can do and at some point you have to figure out if you're wasting your own time/energy with someone. I used to spend so much of my time arguing with people on how to be better at things and I found it just wasn't worth the energy, because if you look, you WILL find people who WANT to improve. It took me years to realize that and I feel like the teams/communitites I build in WoW now are better off for it, because I surround myself with individuals whose goals align with mine and when you do that, you trim the fat and save enourmous amounts of time. I'm going to show this video to a lot of people, because I think the underlying messages are great as well as the surface messages you give. Great video, well though out, and well said! :)

I have some friends who have great potential to be pumpers and I think they really want to but they're new to organized raiding and Everytime they've ever tried to get better they get shot down hard or flamed in pugs and it's resulted in them not even wanting to try in case they fuck up. I've created a guild and am leading 2 raid teams as a result of this. I'd like to cultivate an environment of incentive to be better and rewards for those who prepare and do extra. Eventually helping everyone become the latter kind of a person. So far it has been hard to get them dialed in and I don't think it's entirely their fault. I think I need to improve as a raid leader so I can adopt this "show people they can do epic shit" mantra. I just don't even know where to start
If you are worried about it, then you are on the right path. Making your own opinions on everything will free you from questions and doubts. Avoid having officers imo. It will let you stay nimble

Question: how are you gaining soooooooo much rage in these clips out of combat? you are always pooled at 100 rage, even when out of combat for nearly a minute. You switch stances at 4:06 and rage dumb but gain it back in chunks of 20, and this happens throughout the video? whats the tech i dont know?
oh thats essence of the red from vael. if you pull fast you have the buff on trash for a bit. its the reason people have indinite resouces on vael. its like 40 energy 20 rage and 500 mana per sec i think
