I was able to get the boot strap hook thing off on my eflex 860s by folding in both sides towards the middle and pushing it through. But mine have leather straps so I'm not sure if it would be possible with those
I just had to google arduous.. Lol but yeah youre right on. I just took a month off. Packing my bag, making sure I have everything in shower bag, making sure skates are done, lugging huge bag around, the stress of being a goalie and having to show up for a skate unlike a player who can bail without finding a sub is a giant PITA.
I took the strap and buckle off my Eflex 3's very quickly. It will fit out through the hole with a bit of a pull and twist (the buckle). I used a knife to life the tab out of the pocket and pulled it out.
Hey dude I just figured out a way to remove the buckle end of the boot strap all you need to do is key a screw driver or something like that and puck it out to spin it. (kinda like how you would use a crowbar)
I just bought a set of eflex 3.9 and they slide great but have been having issues with them twisting on my leg after being down in the butterfly. If I remove that bootstrap will that help with that twisting sensation?
Ryan Jets yeah I was thinking of getting toe straps possibly as well. I’ve since figured out that I have to make the pads tighter around my knee and use the lunde loop built in the Bauer s170 skates
Mr.ToeTies depends how much u use them. I go on the ice from 5-6 times a week. I'm currently using the e3.5. No wear or tear. Good for goalies that will grow.
Hey, I was looking into either 3.5s or 3.9s out of curiosity how long have you had your pads and how have they held up since you got. I see that you are on the ice pretty often?
Tom D. It's has been a ton of goalie camps and some games. It has been a month and a half or so and they have no signs of wearing down. Just a few puck marks 😉. The stores will tell u that the durability will be better on the e3.9 but looks the same to me right now
Biggest differences are the rebounds and stiffness. Premier is stiff and gives active rebounds; EFlex line has more flexibility and rebounds stay close. Whichever one you prefer, that's the pad to get. Good luck!
With the boot strap off and the toe tie with that much slack don't you find the pads ride up your leg in the transition down to your butterfly? I just picked up a set of eflex 2's 36+1. I'm 6'5. Tried no boot strap and I found I'm landing low on the knee stack. Any strapping suggestions?
Try one K straps from Monster Hockey they go through the pad lacing and pull your knee into the craddle enough that you shouldn't be landing off the block
Do you find that due to the weight distribution moved to the lower leg/ shin area that these pads kick rebounds out a bit better than the previous eflex model?
I was worried about that a bit, but I haven't noticed any problem with it at all. They do kick out slightly more -- somewhere between the EFlex2s and the Premiers.
I had a question about the boot strap? I have Reebok x28s and my one boot strap snapped is is needed or should i replace it? Or could i play without both?
*I'm about to pick up a pair of ccm pads soon, how's the durability of the speed skin? Seems like most reviews are from months ago when the product was still new and not many reviews on the durability after heavy usage.*
Hey Tomy Always enjoy your videos. A few questions for you. In your opinion is the speed skin better at sliding than a weave? Are you pads made in China or North America? Thanks
Does your glove have an offset palm? I tried the eflex 2 for about 2 weeks, which was a standard palm and had pop out issues in that same spot you do. I switched back to my X28 offset 590 and the problem was fixed. Great review, gear looks great!
You need to do more videos brother .
Maybe someday. Sometimes I still get the itch but I haven’t played in a couple years now, I think.
did end up removing the outer knee guard?
Yup, I did. They ended up making this an option and I’ve since gotten my pads without the outer knee gusset.
How does the sizing compare from the ccm premier?
1 size down due to the boot angle on the premier.
It's actually one size UP! In the Premiers if you wear a 34+2" you'll wear a 35+2" in EFlex.
I’m a younger goalie will the eflex 3.9s be good enough if I want e lexes

Nice! Thanks for sending that. I ended up getting mine out by using a flathead screwdriver, lol.
How do you modify the toe strap

I'm going to have to try that! Though I'm hesitant to use a knife, haha!

Shane Moilanen ik it’s late but yeah and also maybe a sliding toe bridge
Ryan Jets yeah I was thinking of getting toe straps possibly as well. I’ve since figured out that I have to make the pads tighter around my knee and use the lunde loop built in the Bauer s170 skates
Do you think the ccm extreme flex 3.5 is a good idea to buy if you need pads for a medium price?
Mr.ToeTies depends how much u use them. I go on the ice from 5-6 times a week. I'm currently using the e3.5. No wear or tear. Good for goalies that will grow.
Stevie Brown thank you so much
Absolutely! Like Stevie said, they're very durable.

I personally love the way the flap flies up but people are different. Also great review
Thanks, Nathan! I think I'd be more fine with it if it wasn't ALWAYS flapping out, lol.
Hey i can't decide between the premier and eflex 3 what are the main difference thanks
Biggest differences are the rebounds and stiffness. Premier is stiff and gives active rebounds; EFlex line has more flexibility and rebounds stay close. Whichever one you prefer, that's the pad to get. Good luck!
Tomy, what size pads are these?
With the boot strap off and the toe tie with that much slack don't you find the pads ride up your leg in the transition down to your butterfly? I just picked up a set of eflex 2's 36+1. I'm 6'5. Tried no boot strap and I found I'm landing low on the knee stack. Any strapping suggestions?
Nope, not at all. But I also keep my top calf strap a bit tighter than some goalies. I'd look at that first! Good luck!
Try one K straps from Monster Hockey they go through the pad lacing and pull your knee into the craddle enough that you shouldn't be landing off the block
How do the knee rolls affect the rebounds coming of them, do they fly in every direction or they bounce off like a flat face pad?
Nope! They act like pillows, so the puck nicely sits there, sleeping, waiting for me to cover it up with my warm, comfy glove. :)
How does the slide in the ccm's compare to the Brian's SZ2? I also feel like the CCMs are heavier than the SZ2.
They are heavier for sure, but that's not a concern. In my opinion they slide way better than the SZ2s, but I've only been in SZ2s once.
What are you’re thought on the CCM Tacks goalie skates vs Bauer s190
LOVE my Tacks! But I don't have any experience with the s190s, sorry!
Will there be a review for the new premier pants/chest?
Sorry, just listened to you saying you need more time in it to review LOL
LOL That's true.. it'll need just a LITTLE more time! Almost to 20 games in both of them, I think!
I had a question about the boot strap? I have Reebok x28s and my one boot strap snapped is is needed or should i replace it? Or could i play without both?
I'd just place without them. No need to use them!
*I'm about to pick up a pair of ccm pads soon, how's the durability of the speed skin? Seems like most reviews are from months ago when the product was still new and not many reviews on the durability after heavy usage.*
Hey Tomy
Always enjoy your videos. A few questions for you.

Are you pads made in China or North America?
Thanks
Hey! YES, these are better than weave! It's not even close. These pads were made in China.
Ok thanks you have any old stuff you want to get rid of

Nope, that's a regular palm. Did far better last game.. my brain is coming around! Thanks for the kind words!
how can I go about getting free equipment to give reviews about it on youtoube
Can't. No one does it anymore. :\
How noticeable is the noise when sliding
Barely at all.
I love you Goalie Crease
Haha, thanks!
How much did it cost you to get you're helmet painted. Great vid btw
And where did you get you're shelf I need something better to air my gear out with😀
Depends on the helmet. I've had masks from $300-$1800.
ProLocker Goalie edition. It's awesome!
