Jose is one of the 3 best managers of all time, alongwith Ferguson and Clough.
    His achievements are unparalleled:
    - Winning the Champions League with Porto. That in itself puts him up there as one of the best ever. He is Porto’s best manager of all time.
    - Then, he goes to Chelsea and turns them into champions for the first time in 50 years. He goes back-to-back, beating the Man United of Ferguson. He turned Chelsea into one of Europe’s best teams from 2004-2012, when they eventually won the Champions League. He created that team. He is Chelsea’s best manager of all time.
    - Then, he goes to Inter Milan and wins them their first Champions League in 50 years, en route The Treble. He is one of Inter Milan’s 2 greatest ever managers.
    - Then, he goes to Real Madrid and ends the dominance of the greatest Barcelona in history. When he went to Madrid, they had not reached a Champions League QF in about a decade. He took them to 3 semis in a row, brought back the winning mentality, and built the spine of the team that went on to win 4 out of 5 UCLs.
    - Then, he goes back to Chelsea and wins them the title again, with a team much inferior to others in the league.
    - Then, idiots like Lingard and Pogba, the Instagram generation of football players, come into being and try to ruin his career by acting like babies instead of warriors, or “mad dogs” like he prefers to say. Nevertheless, he wins them 2 titles in 2 years, and takes them to their best league finish (2nd) post-Ferguson. It was a fantastic achievement with the 6th best team in the league.
He has proven his mettle in every league, in 3 different eras of football, against better teams, with a lot of money and with no money at all. He is a master of all styles of play: His Madrid scored 100+ goals, his first Chelsea conceded 15. The master of attack when needed. The master of defence when needed.
No modern coach comes close to him. People talk about Guardiola being better than him. Absolute bollocks. Guardiola hasn’t won a Champions League without Messi. He is a one-dimensional coach, who is very good at that one dimension.

    • @fuad_a7
      @fuad_a7 5 лет назад +36

Yet Guardiola dominates leagues and breaks down great teams. Guardiola experiments Jose rarely does. I see another dimension in Guardiola's career. But what ever Mou has achieved, I will never take that away from him. Guardiola had his success handed on a plate but his tactics can back his calibre up too. José is one of the greatest of all time as well. I agree with you mate. Don't forget Cruyff in that list, he changed football too...

Absolutely. I am looking forward to seeing Mou return to management.
Hopefully in a club where the fans and the board actually support him instead of hating on him because they cannot accept that their club has some of the worst players in the league.

After losing 1-0 to Juventus at OT. He talked briefly about the club having no ambition and no character in the football side of things.Ed controls everything from transfers to contract renewals. Jose wanted the likes of Bonucci, he got some cheap nobodies that Ed lapped up because they were young and his 58 useless scouts probably told him they were good choices. You talk about transfers being hits/misses? How's this, Utd rejected Saul & De ligt all because Woodward deemed they were not a good fit, but okayed some brainless transfers such as Darmian and Herrera. We have the biggest turnover bar Madrid, and we can't pony up to get decent players who the manager actually wants. They've never been behind any manager, ever. Moyes missed ALL of his targets except Fellaini, LVG was useless going to dinner wines with him so he obviously was coaxed into buying the likes of Rojo and Darmian. Jose got Matic, Dalot, Grant, and Zlatan who were his choices, but two of them were short term, Grant was meant to cover for Dean Henderson who left on loan, Dalot was our best bet at getting a fullback and Jose saw potential in him.
"My biggest compliment to Juventus is about their philosophy and the basic ideas behind it," Mourinho told reporters.
"They had Gonzalo Higuain, Mario Mandzukic, Paulo Dybala and want more. They want Cristiano Ronaldo. They had Andrea Barzagli, Giorgio Chiellini, Daniele Rugani - they are not happy, they want more, they want Leonardo Bonucci and they go for the best players in the world.
"So they are big club with a big past, but with also a big desire to have a big future. They want more and more."

Apparently at the time of the 2003 UEFA Cup final, Martin O’Neill’s Celtic team cost twice as much money in transfer fees to assemble compared to Mourinho’s Porto team. Also Celtic’s wage bill was higher than Porto’s.
In the UK and Scotland, a very big deal was made of Celtic’s run to the final (no problem with that as it was very exciting), so even before we get to Porto’s Champions League win the following season, the UEFA Cup win in 2003 was pretty huge itself.

He was probably one of the only one who made it as a successful manager without being a professional footballer before. Opened a whole new world for new managers specially from abroad to reach success and opportunities in Europe. Opened doors for managers to be valued for their skill and knowledge of management rather than association with the football world.
