Amazing interview! Ed Lover S/O to you for staying a man of integrity... Your are definitely a pioneer in the game! S/O to Premium Pete for paying homage and having this interview...
Omg I can relate to him talking about NY cause I lived it. Dr. Dre lived on the next street from me in Westbury, Long Island. He was cool with my sisters. Him and T-Money who also grew up with us and lived in Westbury use to put on events/sponsor events at our neighborhood park and have Ed lover, Salt n Pepa and other rappers come thru to hang out with us on New Cassel Day. Ed Lover went to school with/ and live by my cousin in Queens. Those were the good days. Great memories. It was nothing to see one of them locally like at Jamaica Ave, Green Acre Mall, Roosevelt Field Mall and etc. They helped pave the way for alot of old school artist to be where they at today.
Thanks for this interview!! He and Doctor Dre had a huge following overseas back in the day. I grew up in Switzerland and loved watching Yo MTV Raps with Ed Lover and Doctor Dre in the 90s. Blessings to everyone.
Ed lover a fucking legend in this game !!! One of the last gate keeper for the kraft black people created for ourselves called HIP HOP . Now the white man owns all the radio and TV stations , controls the content we hear and see .

Ed Being escorted out of the building was a business move, nothing personal. Thats how business works. There's no room for a DJ (who's been fired, letgo, etc) to "say goodbye" live on the air, especially if the radio station is wanting to maintain continuity. Ed "Saying goodbye" was not happening. Why would a successful brand want to lose marketshare (or the Ed Lover audience?) Meanwhile, I don't want to leave this comment w/o saying RIP to TODD1. Ed you may not recall we did an interview that included Todd, the day of the Red Alert Roast. You might be a legend to everyone else, but you've been a legendary friend to me. The only time I ever saw Ed Lover was at Caroline's back in the 90's. He was hosting a comedy show with Dr. Dre. Raw, but real and I can see that Ed Lover is more real with standards of integrity, than most people in the entertainment business. Just my observation..
