Man, I was fortunate to have my pops in the house with me. He did a lot of stuff but my mom always said the only reason she let him come back is she knew that she couldn’t raise me and my brother alone. Her brothers were scared of my pops because he was a certified street dude but he worked and he put it down when I messed up. Even when my brother messed up, I got punished even more because I was supposed to keep him in line when he wasn’t there. When he was dying, he told me why he was hard on me because he want me to be the man when he wasn’t there alive or dead. I’ve been holding it down every since. I used to live at 666 141 street and Cypress ave back in the late 70’s early 80’s and I swear, that building and area was heavily influenced by the devil himself. Unimaginable things used to happen in that area. A lot of bad memories from that area.
