That weight loss program at Duke is interesting. There’s a story of a wrestler from WWF, Yokozuna, who was sent there to lose weight. He was a big dude like Pun, easily pushing 500lbs. The corporate WWF offices would occasionally call to check in with Yoko and he would lie about having lost weight. Eventually his time ended at the program and he was released, possibly cause he wasn’t losing any weight. He actually came out heavier than he did when he went in. I think it was later discovered he was bribing someone affiliated with the program to smuggle in food for him. Unfortunately Yoko died as well sometime around 2000

So sampling a song is biting? Well then by those terms your favorite artist is just as big a biter if not more than Jay Z is. Lol no. He paid homage. Biting is stealing flows/cadences/lingo/subject matter.
@@JohnSmith33333 when u sampling ur peers then acting like u the best yeah its biting. How many folk outside of NY knew that was a Fat Joe song and beat first?
J was outside. Obviously the scoop was mushroomed. J got out and had his eyes on billions in 96. Joe’s insecurities held him back, made him overly assessable and not focused on on his craft and business. Focus on yourself. Ignore the noise.
The thing about "taking your beats" is, back in the day we all knew where the original music to their raps came from, and because of that no one ever gave props to the artists for the music but solely for their rap game. People didn't really care about beefs involving the sounds used because the artists rarely came up with their own beats and just used popular music from the 60's and 70's and just mixed in little things here and there to make it "distinctive".
Let's be honest, there's no shortage of individuals in the music industry that rap about living a gangsta lifestyle that they don't live & have never lived....the music industry, though not to the same degree as the film industry, still attracts, creates, rewards, caters, encourages, etc to fake people or people to be fake. Respect to the genuine artists....tbh i'm surprised there ain't more fake asstists exposed by genuine artists.
I been looking for that fat joe- bring it on song for a minute. I heard the beat on a freestyle and it was crazy. Sound like it should have been on GTA3 game radio or something
I cannot picture jay z tall and goofy getting chased around a couch LOL ..but jay z always coming out on top he is too slick! The story about the NYC blackout and where Jay Z was in the tour bus sipping Cristal and eating snacks is classic😂
Exactly! "Reasonable Doubt" along with other albums from artists like Raekwon and AZ helped usher in the mafioso rap. Fat Joe never originally talked that shit in his early work.
@@OmegaManCodes the early part of Jay-Z rapping differently and smiling and looking corny in the videos of late 80s early 90s. Back then labels wanted cheesy and friendly Rappers like Will Smith. Parent's don't understand was a huge hit and labels wanted their rappers to imitate it. Even Rza did a corny video. It wasn't until NWA came into the season that made gangster rap main stream and rappers started rapping and doing videos reflecting who they were and their environment.... So who knows why Jay-Z did those corny videos and rap songs. When you're coming up back then, you will do anything when you see easy money.
Big props on your documentaries. I like how you put in clips of interviews and songs but just but the meat of the matter and don’t just play a 10 minute interview where most of the points are just repeated over and over. Even when you do include a longer interview it’s relevant to the subject. A lot of other rap doc channels do this and after you get past the filler it’s really just 20% pertinent info. D Haven said they moved weight together and Jay even grew the business while Haven was in the hospital. Camron said he used to take drugs to Jay-z's stash spot on 560 state street. Photographer Timothy White said when he met Jay in 88 he had a ton of real gold on him. Teddy Riley said he's legit and he's a witness to Jay's street life. All kinds of shit..
Yessir
Yup all rappers cap about their past to some extent but jay definitely had his hands in the drug game before the rap took off
This was amazing. Much props!
This was great. Haven’t finished yet. But so far it’s amazing.
Very well done.
You got my subscribe.
I didnt know Jay Z sample Joes so many times so Joe had a point same way Jay sampled Nas he was biting from dudes before him🤷🏽
Facts.
So sampling a song is biting? Well then by those terms your favorite artist is just as big a biter if not more than Jay Z is. Lol no. He paid homage. Biting is stealing flows/cadences/lingo/subject matter.
Nah sampling isn’t biting
@@JohnSmith33333 jigga didnt do that?
@@JohnSmith33333 when u sampling ur peers then acting like u the best yeah its biting. How many folk outside of NY knew that was a Fat Joe song and beat first?
big pun is one of my favourite rappers but anytime i mention him to my friends they dont know :(
J was outside. Obviously the scoop was mushroomed. J got out and had his eyes on billions in 96. Joe’s insecurities held him back, made him overly assessable and not focused on on his craft and business.
Focus on yourself. Ignore the noise.
Probs for making this doc! Great work my G
Tell that to Nas & (stuck on Salty) ‘Pac in ‘96…
Kraftwerk is king of rap.
I love all the random B-roll like the gasoline on fire and the Honda over the dumpster 😂
This was dope af. Definitely subscribed asap after watching this!
Champagne bottle don't break 🤣🤣🤣
Let's be honest, there's no shortage of individuals in the music industry that rap about living a gangsta lifestyle that they don't live & have never lived....the music industry, though not to the same degree as the film industry, still attracts, creates, rewards, caters, encourages, etc to fake people or people to be fake.
Respect to the genuine artists....tbh i'm surprised there ain't more fake asstists exposed by genuine artists.
This channel is legendary, knew the story's but never all these little details keep it up
Pun was rowdy as fuck. Like a East version of PAC!! cross him it’s on!
Pac is from New York
@@JohnDoe-iv5ns and CLAIMED THE WEST SON!

I been looking for that fat joe- bring it on song for a minute. I heard the beat on a freestyle and it was crazy. Sound like it should have been on GTA3 game radio or something
This channel is AMAZING!🙏🏽💯 Thanks
fuck i love BIG PUN. lyrical savage.
You got views you plant..... good work
I cannot picture jay z tall and goofy getting chased around a couch LOL ..but jay z always coming out on top he is too slick! The story about the NYC blackout and where Jay Z was in the tour bus sipping Cristal and eating snacks is classic😂
I aint know a lot of these details 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 great work.
Moral of the story is, some friendships are natural and some are forged with time and having differences
This is the best breakdown I’ve ever seen 👌🏽
To be fair the 80’s rap was different and the labels was running shit not like you had a choice back then
The fact that you were able to understand that when the author of the video doesn't is well respected salute
@@OmegaManCodes what part are we talking about?
@@blowc1612your concept of time is funny 😂
Big props on your documentaries. I like how you put in clips of interviews and songs but just but the meat of the matter and don’t just play a 10 minute interview where most of the points are just repeated over and over. Even when you do include a longer interview it’s relevant to the subject. A lot of other rap doc channels do this and after you get past the filler it’s really just 20% pertinent info. Keep up the good work.
Are you ever gonna reupload the full video of Mos Def Big Pun DMX Cannabis freestyle? Peace
That video has been out for over 20 years.
@@Man_eee Where can I find it???
Great doc 🔥🔥🔥💯
Pun is a fucking legend, Period. Great video.
Dude this documentary is amazing 🔥
Jay took a lot of sounds from Fat Joes first album. Facts
Bro when you introduced the Full-A-Clips crew you showed Prospect when you said Toom, he is a different person who was also know as Da Sick One who is Gilly and Big Earl cousin.
Bruh Im from that era time and place. Fat Joe was down with DITC digging in the crates. Diamond D, Showbizz, AG, also Big L. Joe wasn't known for spitting and didn't really get known musically until Big Pun died. Pun was blessed by Kool G Rap and keeping it real Pun one of the top lyricst dead or alive.
I knew about fat Joe wait before pun came along and I’m all the way in Houston at the time
If Big Pun was alive, He would of been top of the food chain!! Really in the street and really a lyrical Monster
Agreed on both
He’d have certainly been on top of food
