Nas is too humble. He gives everyone credit while to me he was better than all of them. Ready to die over illmatic? Hell no. 1:10:32 I disagree. There are many people who believe it was written was better.
I honestly feel that the problem wasn't that big "copied" other rappers, the problem was that he did it better or at least more successful, I don't think it's biting tho I do think big absorbed and was like "ey that's cool I put that in my repertoire" since he basically freestyles all his material anyway...but if he would copy and it would be a weak rip off rappers wouldn't even sweat it, they be like "yeah some copycat half ass trying to do what I do, whatever" but that's not what happened...I think the way people looked at BIG might be similar to how people today look at Harry mack...just so far ahead of the game it is frustrating for the rest, and i think big L was the same, so effortless it's just made other rappers angry
U lost me at Harry Mack frfr that's total disrespect and disregard to the golden Era of the culture. Some of us actually lived thru all of this and bro Harry Mack is more of a street performer, his name isn't worthy in this conversation😂😂😅😂
Ofcourse, The Notorious B.I.G undeniably did take some inspiration from Nas with the baby cover for Ready to Die and also he did take inspiration from the Mafioso thing from Raekwon but he was owning it in his own way. That's Hip-Hop.

As a hipHop head THIS is some reall raw rap history. The time you took to research and cross reference for this material 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I can watch this all day. Thank you for upload. It’s always getting goosebumps listening to some interviews by BIG, or Tupac and others emcees. And studying their lyrics and the wordplay and get to know the story behind it. Back in the day we have some brilliant emcees, with great producers and beat maker. DJ Premier, Havoc of Mobb Deep, The Alchemist, The RZA, J Dilla, Pete Rock and many more. All these people’s are amazing.
Ikr?? I feel the exact same way.✌🏾😂💯
i just found this channel and i have to say that i love this indepth view cover of rap history, very detailed.

The Best Breakdown I’ve Seen And Definitely A Great Watch
Wow, this was dope. I knew some of thus stuff but alot more I didn't know, like the Big L stuff.
This was very well
Put together
The video was extraordinarily done. 🏆🔥🔥🔥🔥
«Aint no other kings in this rap thing, they siblings nothin but my children one shot they disappearin»
True King of NY Biggie 🐐
Where is this level of talent at today. Them 90s rapper was deep like ancient poets.
listen to lil uzi the way life goes or empty by juice wrld
It exists, but the bar( ha) is so low these days...
Check out WacoDraco he criminally underrated
Things were better back then but relax they weren't that deep
This video is the best shit on RUclips, just raw 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
It's crazy because this whole documentary is just showing me how fucking dope biggie smalls was man, like, I know he's a legend and all but I had no idea how DOPE this man was! Crazy,🤦🏽♂️smh R.I.P. The Notorious BIG tho
One of the greatest documentary ever great job
Nas Prodigy Biggie Tupac JayZ Big L Big PUN Methodman Gza Ghostface LOX DMX AZ Sean Price Eminem my list of greats in no order
The beef with Jay Z though is questionable. Camron went hard at Jay for biting Big’s lyrics for years. Even though Jay said “me using a Big’s verse is only B.I.G. Ing up my brother
So what was his reasoning for stealing ice t's "99 problems but a bitch ain't one" line and not giving ice no credit?
That whole biting lyrics thing is funny cause I remember YEARS ago there was a video damn near the same length as the "swagga jacka" one but it was with Camron biting bars lol
Every rapper has taken either lines or song names from other artists since forever big I'm going back to Cali is a remake of ll's I'm going back to Cali
jay z bit a lil to much to be just bigging big up jay bit lines from a ton of rappers camron's swagger jacker only mentioned a few
94 was a phenomenal year for hip hop and while I was a big fan of illmatic I always thought ready to die was better and as much as I like it was written I felt life after death was better...luv nas longevity thou still sounds good nearly thirty years later!!!(always wondered why there was no 96 source awards)

Both the albums you mentioned, Nas was better

I don't know if every verse discussed was properly deciphered but this was well put together. Salute. 🫡
As great as the music that came out of New York in the 90s, it sucks to hear how crabby the rappers were not letting one another succeed. This costed them great collaborations while the West were doing the opposite and striving.
I feel like it made their music better for them individually because they all made classics
Cause the West never had petty beefs?

Respect! I made it through the whole vid, ENJOYED IT...
Nas is too humble. He gives everyone credit while to me he was better than all of them. Ready to die over illmatic? Hell no. 1:10:32 I disagree. There are many people who believe it was written was better.
My favorite vid from u thx for the repost
Biggie was magical can’t be train tht shit
U lost me at Harry Mack frfr that's total disrespect and disregard to the golden Era of the culture. Some of us actually lived thru all of this and bro Harry Mack is more of a street performer, his name isn't worthy in this conversation😂😂😅😂
Ofcourse, The Notorious B.I.G undeniably did take some inspiration from Nas with the baby cover for Ready to Die and also he did take inspiration from the Mafioso thing from Raekwon but he was owning it in his own way. That's Hip-Hop.
Biggie was a flow genius … and a true story teller … you can literally imagine the shit he’s saying in your head, he was clear in his lyrics and you can understand everything he said. Big is the king of NY … period
Yo this channel really does their homework. You think you know hip hop, then you watch this video... and I realize there's so many subliminals I missed.
I like how this channel breaks down hip hop history the most accurate on RUclips.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤these pictures are incredible history we thought as kid we would never see
It seems like everybody had love for BIG until he got bigger than them, then they all claimed he but they style.
For the record nas never had no problems wit big. Big had an issue with him being so close to the wu
Jealousy dawg
He was bigger than all of them when he was 10. Rim shot
Puffy made Biggie commercial
@@RobertaMcilwainthats what nobody tryna say or see
Nas in my opinion was one of the best lyricist of all time
Yea but nas was too finicky.
Illmatic
Is.
He didn't ask for that king of NY title. It was awarded to him. Like nas said, " one life, one love,so there can only be one king"...
This was a good watch... Good job...
Biggie was like the mayweather of rap,a lot of people hate but have to admit at the end of the day that he is the GOAT💪🏿💯 Pac was that dude But let's Be real,Biggie was a strategic thinker, you may win the Battle but he will win the war‼🎯
Always kinda confused me while the east coast was beefing and during that they were also beefing with the west. Its like they had a civil war during a war
Pac had everybody scrambling.
@@donnellm346 The little ballerina fake west coast bwoy had who scrambling? Male groupie😂😂
@@donnellm346 Mobb deep bodied Pac and the ballerina was East Coast anyway

@@jamar95little24 what year was that in? Yes Dre, Snoop and Cube had classic albums but at no time was East Coast dead. Rakim, Wu Tang, Big, Mobb deep, Nas, and on and on and on hold strong.

😂😂😂
Lol Nas told everyone doesn't help jay took Big L's style too
He only took everything because big and park die Jay-Z is a bomb he was nobody before all that shit happened stop believing in the hype man
Notorious BIG will always be remembered, the greatest rapper of all time.
😂😂 The greatest number 5 because Biggie above Pac is a joke, Biggie above Nas is disrespectful and 50 Cent is above Biggie since 2005, and maybe Eminem is too
Over Kane, G Rap, KRS, and Rakim? Hell no!

Great Video!!!.....I know alot about 90s hip hop but I didn't know this many shots were thrown between all these mentioned rappers. And how many lines from there albums were directed towards each other.....like Wu saying they bit Nas' album, taking about BIG album.....cool video. Didn't intend on watching the whole 2 hrs but how can ya not 🤙😛💯🔥🤔😎

I relate so much to Nas I understand not feeling up to par on the mic. Look at him now tho 👑🐐
But he was though is the crazy part..he was a fan of big and pac hardcore

@@Clevelandsportsfann22Pac & Biggie both were huge Nas fans too. Nas "I gave you power" from It Was Written inspired pac to record Me & My Girlfriend.
