My mother's side of the family is Irish from County Donegal. My grandfather recently passed away and his name was Dan. He told me that when he was a boy, this was the lullaby his mother sang to him. He still cried as he sang it. When I listen to it now, I think of him.

A man I was in a musical with a few years ago passed away this week, and his funeral was yesterday. His name was Dan, and his family sang this, and it was so beautiful.
Even though I didn't know Dan very well, he was a great guy, and I know he'll be missed, and we'll never find someone as amazing as him to play Jacob Marley in our production of Scrooge the Musical.
I've started to write this comment several times and keep backspacing because I don't know how to accurately express how much this moved me. Thank you.

An elderly friend of mine, Don Squibb, used to sing this song at the theatre USO show every christmastime, and it was one of the most beautiful songs I have heard. He passed away this summer, but this song makes me think of him every time I hear it. You did a beautiful job with this piece. Many thanks to you both, and I hope you are doing well in this admittedly difficult time.
