    I’ve searched all of RUclips for tutorials. Your work is phenomenal and the amount one can learn from just these short videos is incredible. Too bad you can’t teach me patience lol. Even though it takes me weeks to do a picture I feel I still rush through it.

      Thank you for the kind words. Tip to gain patience is like training a muscle... start with a few minute and build up the time with loads of breaks in between. There is a saying... 'Start slow, finish fast' or 'Slow is smooth, smooth is fast'.🙏😊

    Hi Dave love your work, you have inspired me to try one of my mum, not as good as yours but a start, can you tell me is there a way of varnishing the finished piece or dose it have to have glass on top

    • @DavePortersArt

      That great news Robyn, thrilled the video has inspired you. I generally frame und glass and mount. if you want your work to not have a mount you could use frame spacers. All the very best with your Mum's portrait. 😊🙏

    When a painter produces a photorealistic piece,only the challenge of making the subject look exactly like the real object is met.
    There is no art to it.
    It’s a form of showing off technical skills.
    “See what I can do!?”
    There’s no interpretation of reality. There is only reproduction of reality.
    It takes a technician to do that, not an artist.

    • @DavePortersArt
      @DavePortersArt  6 месяцев назад

      If you watch the video... I mention this is my interpretation my suggestion... I don't replicate exactly. I agree with what you say... this is what my aspirations are. My method is to focus on the energy of the subject, the details take care of themselves. 🙏
