So, with this technique you are not looking for define hairs, its more like keeping it blurry ? I have always like pastels, I love the magical effect. I guess I was wondering if is even worth to really sharpen the tip and make define hairs or add some color pencils, what do you think about this?
Yes, exactly my technique is not hyper realism … my aspirations are to make they come alive with the energy of the subject. The details take care of themselves they just seem to happen. I would suggest trying on a little strip of Pastelmat surface, this is the only way to find your unique style... always give your insight s a go. All the very best... thanks for watching. 🙏
I use Conté, Derwent and Faber pastel pencils and the place where I paint with they gets "blocked" or loose the tooth and can not add more pigment, not matter if are sticks or another pastel pencil...Master Pilar Aixado also say that. How can you add paint layers and layers, not saturating the paper or have it untransferable? Thank you for everything
Hi Bett, The most essential part I have found is the surface you draw on. Any sanded paper would do.. I prefer Pastelmat... it is magical to work on. 🙏
Hi Juul, Just got to try it out and see what happens, you could do it over grey so cant see why it is not possible. What I have see of the Verdaccio technique, like a little un natural tbh. all the very best. 🙏
@@DavePortersArt I see that in all sorts of complexions. Based on the complexion, the reds, yellows, greens, and blues ( among other colors ), are layered in with variety of sequences and thickness as the piece progresses. I hope that is correct anyway. Lol
Very Nice, Thanks for sharing

Pencil over pencil... layer after layer. The surface you use is important, I use Dark Grey Pastelmat it is magic to work on 😊🙏

What is the thing you use to sharpen your pencils?
I use a knife... I show you how I sharpen the pencil in this video... here is the link ruclips.net/video/7YGvMZ-N0jw/видео.html 😊🙏
Un bellissimo lavoro, solo delle ciglia di troppo, io le avrei ridotte. Comunque sei bravissimo.
Grazie per il feedback... ti auguro il meglio... grazie per la visione 🙏

Hello Dave, I send you an email but maybe it’s in the spam box. But.. Is it also possible to really work color by color on a face? like Verdaccio?
Hi Juul, Just got to try it out and see what happens, you could do it over grey so cant see why it is not possible. What I have see of the Verdaccio technique, like a little un natural tbh. all the very best. 🙏
I just realized there are no individual colors that make up flesh tones for the face.
So many subtleties in skin tone... Colour is magical, open you art and you will see all the variations 🙏
