Thanks. Try standing up at a black or white board.Use your whole body. Besides being huge, the pathways start to get very fluid and alive. and, I connect the cross overs in the middle before I start the "unders and overs". pg
That's a lot easier than what I used to do. I would draw one continuous tube in pen and leave gaps alone the way to eventually come back to for an over spot. It turned into a game of not letting yourself get trapped on the page :)
I love the randomness, spontaneity and freedom of creating your own Celtic Knot! Very soothing and meditative; much like creating a Mandala. Would highly recommend for those who like Zentangles.
I was getting stuck when an "over" or "under" was already drawn-- THAT's why I was having so much trouble with my doodles this evening! Thanks for clearing that up for me. Your little doodle there IS quite moving. Thank you.
I find this method by far the easiest way to draw huge knots. Once the lines meet up again to make one continuous line it should work out. I also agree with doing one cross over at a time. If you mess up even one of them you have to go back to try and find the one that you got wrong. This is really annoying when you have a knot that is the size of an A1 page lol.
Why not! Use the outline of the letters as the primary pathway and then weave a second one around and through the outlines. I would use a second color for the weave. Thanks.
Thank you for your explanation! So simple and so cool! Thank you, sir!)
Thank you. Keep drawing! 🙂
This is the best thing I've ever watched. So simple!
Thanks, Patrick. I never thought I could a Celtic knot on a grid let alone a freehand one!
Love the free style .... Less stress to create perfect knots. Thanks for the tutorial.
I have learned how to draw the symmetrical celtic knots, but I love these freeform organic shapes. Brilliant!
