  • I've recently got into drawing Celtic Knots and in today’s video share the method I’ve been using for drawing circular borders.
I have been using a method I've used for years, adapted from a book I had over twenty years ago. If you know which book it might be, please do let me know because I've forgotten! This is based on that method, with a little playing around by me to work out what I like best, and some more recent memory jogging by watching David Nicholls on this topic! SUPPLIES
    Pens:
I like uni-pin waterproof fine line drawing pens. I use every size from 0.03 to 0.8 so I buy them in sets of multiple sizes whenever I see an offer on them!

What timing - I spent ages today trying to draw one of these, it was doing my head in! Your video makes it very clear so I’ll have another go tomorrow, thank you! ☺️

Wonderful! Thank you for sharing this. I can try it once I manage to sort out the 6 sided one from a few months back 😁

This might be a bit more straightforward than that one was! :)

I tried this a few times and then used circles instead of diamonds. I found it very difficult to make the diamonds precisely, or even roughly LOL the same sizes. I am improving, a bit, on smooth lines. I can’t imagine how the old Celts did this without erasers! Thank you for this video.

I'm sure someone must have researched how the celts did theirs - I must look it up! But yes, I can't imagine doing without an eraser! Nothing wrong with using circles - whatever works best for you!
