Thanks for the video - perfect guidance for fittiing mine! One minor point: I was able to undo the spline fasteners with standard Torx bits - they're not perfect but they got enough purchase to work fine, and didn't slip or danage the bolts.

One bolt away from a 4 hour job with out a spline bit 🤣 glad the video helped 👍🏻

Am I seeing that right that the reverse light wiring Green wire is Live and Brown is the Earth?

Hi Jeffers, this was awhile back but from memory blue wire went to brown factory wire and the green brown went to green factory wire.
If you stick a multimeter on, if it shows a plus voltage then the res lead is on the live. Hope that helps clear it up

Also, just to be clear, I also need to supply my own bit of wire to run from that green/black/silver reverse signal wire under the steering wheel to the stereo reverse signal wire in?

    • @AXISUK
      @AXISUK  Год назад +1

Yes just add your own wire to the length required 👍🏻

Did you bridge across the green and brown wires in the back light?
I checked the voltage on the terminals of the back-light on my van and the grey - black is 11.5 volts when the van is on. Getting a really blurry image when the engine is on but fine when just electrics on. Weird!
    Appreciate the video though!

Hi George, yes at the back light from memory I took the feed from green and brown wires but check yours is the same. In the front I took the feed from the green/black with silver strips. If your getting interference, I would check the ground and see if you can purchase a filter for the camera power line.

@@AXISUK thanks for the reply mate. Yeah I think there must be noise on the power supply when the engine is on. I'll have to buy a power filter as you suggest.

@@GeoEo14 hopefully a cheap fix and it works out for you

@@AXISUK bought a 5 quid power filter from amazon, fitted today and works a treat. Great picture with the van engine on now. Thanks for the tip!

What has been the longevity of the wireless sender/receiver?
I see you have now switched to Autovox. Have you comtinued with the wireless receivers or have you now ran a physical cable?

Hi, ended up ditching the wireless setup when I purchased the Autovox and ran a wire through to the rear

Hi where did you connect the ground to at the dash board end please?
Also after you connected the 2 wires to the reversing light wire at the front what did you connect to rhe back of the head unit?
    Thanks

Hi Lee. This was a while ago 🤦🏻 from memory the ground in the dash was a bolt that was already there, so take your pick as long as it’s on bare metal. The reverse light connect was only to activate the camera when selecting reverse. Behind the head unit was the reverse out put on the stereo connected to the wireless receiver. Hope you understand that 🤣

Got the same wireless antenna thing, but in VW jetta 05' there is only 10V going into to the back up light. What are my options? any idea @AXIS?

Hmmm not sure 🤔 have you check the voltage coming to the light when engine is running?
