You don't have to clean it out and use new shaving cream every time! You could have pulled at least two or three more papers off that first batch, maybe adding a little more fresh paint. If the paint gets mixed together so it's muddy or brown looking, that's when it's time to change the shaving cream. But I keep the old s.c. , stir it up good and use it as a muted background for fresh paint. So it has a beige or grayish background instead of always white. It makes it look more antique or aged. Or you can use light colored papers too, instead of just white paper.

I did this at school for art class and mine turned out so good, and I made it into a little notebook. Thank you for the video cause I want to do this again sometime so I'm going to save for whenever I go to do it sometime soon.

Instead of acrylic craft paint, you can use a few drops of food coloring - it creates very soft colors of marbling on your paper. And I think clean up is easier.

Can this be done on a canvas? Nice work due you seal the paper? Thanks Terri

i imagine you can do it on canvas... maybe try one of the small canvas pieces first... I did not seal the paper, but if you're doing it as artwork, you could always spray the clear acrylic over it.

I use food coloring instead of paint.I've pulled as many as 45 sheets from one batch. You don't have to clean it after every round.

Vikkie Alkas it can work on calico, something that’s natural and absorbent, it won’t work on anything synthetic

yes I have used muslin and old white sheet and it came out great but does not work well on T shirt fabric... if you are careful and take your time use a pair of white boxer shorts and surprise the man in your life, though he may not want to wear them to the gym or golf club he might get so odd lucks

I tried this tonight and it didn't work for me. Not sure what I did wrong but when I squeegeed it, it turned into a smeared mess. :(

@@artsymitsy if you scrape it too soon, you'll blend the foam and colour causing the smearing mess. The foam is just there as a pillow for the colour to sit on, you must leave the paper a lil while to absorb the colours properly!!! And the colour MUST be sitting ON TOP of the foam. When you do your swirls with a cocktail stick or end of a paintbrush, make sure not to blend the foam and colour together, it's when they blend that you get splodges, gently do the patterns to ensure the colour sits on top of the foam.

@@tamielizabethallaway2413 thanks for the explanation , but I had kept it for 3+ minutes, and even after that the colors did spread 🙃
