I'm originally from Hamilton, though now live in Vienna, Austria. This video is gorgeous and the music to it is exquisite! Thanks for these few precious moments.
Thank you for this! I lived in Burlington for 7 years back in the 80's and always dream about returning (I'm an American--makes things trickier). Such a beautiful city--thank you for the special perspective.
Simply breath taking. So proud of my city and how beautiful it is if you just simply open your eyes and take a step outside. People are so focused on social media and adding buildings, condominiums, tourist attractions and other sight seeing views that no body really realizes the true beauty of our city. I'm sad to say I didn't even know how beautiful Burlington was until watching this. It really changes your views on something you've known nothing about all this time. Beautiful video. Thank you SO much for posting this. What song did you use as well? It's a beautiul fit!
Great video - put to great music. Moving to Burlington from Mississauga was one of the smartest moves my wife and I ever made. I recognized all the locations - some our favourites including the boardwalk where we can feed the birds by hand at RBG. Again, well done.
Brilliant video. Thanks for making and posting this. I just moved to Burlington, so didn't know where any of the locations were. So thanks also to those who listed them so I can visit them soon.
This video is awesome! I loved growing up in Burlington, and I can't believe I haven't been able to explore all the places shown in the video in 18 years of living there! Gotta make a trip home soon and do some more exploring! Thanks for sharing!
That was an awesome short film... I was thinking to myself this summer that cootes paradise would be a great location for some aerial shots- but I didn't think they would look this good. Excellent work my friend.
I loved this. I grew up in Burlington and still kind of live here (I go to college in Niagara) and it was really nice to see all the places I've been to over the years, especially Lowville Park and the countryside near Mount Nemo :)
Locations I see: the beach, Valley-Inn road looking out on the bay, hendrie valley, a horse farm on guelph line maybe?, LaSalle Park, Greenwood Cemetery, one of the windows to the lake, 1455 lakeshore road looking down on locust street, spencer smith park, the lift bridge pier, and Hidden Valley. And that barely scratches the surface of all the beautiful things to see and do in Burlington :). Great video
I knew these locations long before the video but god damn, you capture them more perfectly than even my eyes could. Sad that people that live here don't take much time to really explore what we've got.
hendrie valley. Park at Valley Inn road or on Unsworth north of plains and walk in. You'll see signs in the shoulder parking areas. You can also park at cherry hill gate (and pay to go in if you park there)
The footage is stunning and gives a great deal of respect to our city. But, it's also worth noting that this type of video helps to illustrate some key challenges that are rising to the surface in the general RC community. Flying above streets, over people, and through public parks makes for dramatic video... but it also dismisses many of the safety rules set forth by Transport Canada and breaks laws related to the use of motorized vehicles (including RC). On one hand, I wish more people would take the initiative to produce art like this. On the other, I worry that an ever increasing number of drones will continue to flirt with the rules related to safe flying....which, unfortunately, can lead to the harsh restrictions already initiated in the US.
Thank you for touching on this! Thats one of the reasons why I decided to post this video, to show that drones can be used for other things, they have been getting a lot of bad media as of late. I definitely took precautions before flying my drone to create this piece, I also had to cancel a bunch of my ideas because I felt it would have been too risky/dangerous to do.
Great video Kien. Thanks for creating this I'd love to share this with my clients as well, is that ok?. Burlington is such a great destination to consider for a move.
I wanted to see what would show up if i googled my city and bamb this amazing video i have been to half of those places just amazing i love it P.S corpus sucks Nelson all the way
Stunning video!! May I share this with clients considering a move to our city? Also, what type of rig did you use for filming the video? I've been considering a DJI Phantom drone for my GoPro. Would love some advice.
This is the Burlington I know. There is a hidden jewel lookout deck behind the Bayview Mausoleum beyond the memorial walls with a tower that chimes. I waited to see it.
+Mike Mcmillan Hi Mike, yes I had to for certain areas. Definitely visit Transport Canada's website as they have come out with new regulations for both commercial and personal use.
Great and Beautiful videography, Kien. Noah Godin gave me your name and I'd like to meet with you to discuss our organization, the Burlington Black History Awareness Committee which is in the process of changing it's name to include all of Halton. Continued successes.
I reside in Burlington as well, this is stunning. I am a writer and currently writing my second novel, most taking part within this place, this city we grew up in. Follow me on Instagram @joestraynge to read a fellow locals words !

How exciting to watch such a first class travelogue and recognize so many points - even my own stomping’ ground - Ireland Park?
Hi Donna, thanks for watching! Unfortunately no Ireland Park in this one.
I grew up in Burlington and have seen a lot of the scenes in the video but watching this video makes it flow !

Stunning video!! May I share this with clients considering a move to our city? Also, what type of rig did you use for filming the video? I've been considering a DJI Phantom drone for my GoPro. Would love some advice.
Please share away Jeff! I used a DJI Phantom 2 with a GoPro 3 paired with the h3-3d gimbal to keep things a bit more stabilized!
Nice capture video bro but next time goes for Downtown
This is the Burlington I know. There is a hidden jewel lookout deck behind the Bayview Mausoleum beyond the memorial walls with a tower that chimes. I waited to see it.
This was all shot on the Hero3? Looks really good.
Did you do any shots by hand and if so did you use a stabilizer?
Hi Alex,
This was shot 100% on the Hero3 and Phantom 2. At the time I had the h3-3d stabilizing gimbal.
Cheers!
I miss it there, my home.
-Zach
Hi Kien, just curious about regulations here in burlington, Did you have to get permission or anything?
+Mike Mcmillan Hi Mike, yes I had to for certain areas. Definitely visit Transport Canada's website as they have come out with new regulations for both commercial and personal use.
