Is Burlington safe to live? I researched on the internet, information is mixed. There are too many individual experiences, so it's confusing. Can someone please tell general idea of how safe it is?
Yes it's safe. Based off my research the crime is average for a city if that makes sense. It's also a college town so usually it's safer than most cities. But like most places be aware of your surroundings and use common sense. For the most part Burlington is 100% a safe city!
Visting Vermont this week, and there are many beautiful (even breathtaking) places, especially in the southern mountain areas. It's weird to say, looking at this video, that Burlington was one of our lowlights. It looked pretty dreary and unattractive, both driving into the city from the south, and walking around Church Street Marketplace. The place, frankly, looked rundown. Storefront windows were dirty and dingy, like they haven't been cleaned for a while. Lots of graffiti everywhere. Lots of people walking around looking dazed (sorry, that's an honest observation...felt bad). On a positive note, very dog friendly -- they were everywhere, so that was great to see. We were even invited to bring our little dog into a restaurant (it was a very chilly fall day out), which was very kind and sweet. We were thinking the waterfront area (Lake Champlain) has so much potential and could be spectacular after some well-thought-out redevelopment. It would be so good for Burlington to do something like that.
Burlington is full of homeless and crime-ridden. All businesses have moved to Williston once was nice but people who live in Crittenden County only go there if they have to. Sad but true. I lived there but moved just like all other long-time residents have.
where's the malls, records stores, toys collectors stores, candy stores, fast food places, swap meets, where's the good life stores, oriental places that you eat at, where????????.......not gonna move here, too boring,...walmart, target,.....etc,..and most of all the punk stores????.....marius(punk rules).
