    I just stumbled upon this video and am 7 weeks pregnant and very much in that shell of a person, sick all day long phase. Seeing you describe this and eventually start feeling better is so reassuring and I feel so much less alone hearing you describe exactly what I’m going through. I lay in bed all day while my family just figures out managing life without me. So grateful to realize it is normal because my first pregnancy I was not sick at all so I can feel like something is wrong with me feeling like this this time around. So thank you for sharing your journey and helping me not feel alone.

    I appreciate how open you are about your experience, it's helpful for future moms and for people (like me) who don't have close friends/ sisters that were pregnant and who don't know what they might be getting themselves into.

    Congratulations! I’m surprised if people judge the age gap. I always thought 2 years was normal and actually quite good as it’s not so far apart!

    • @thegloomcookie2321

      Yes here in Germany 2-2,5 years is the normal „expected“ age gap as well

    • @happyfeet97100

      Same! For me even 5 years is okay!

    • @lilypebbles
      @lilypebbles  3 года назад +21

      It is normal here too, and common amongst my friends. I think our parents' generation could have bigger age gaps between kids because they started having kids much younger and I think when one is at school etc it makes it easier, than having two at home. It's all lovely in the end no matter the age gap. Also, I was worried for nothing, noone judged... lol

    • @jessicahang9018
      @jessicahang9018 3 года назад

      I have a three year age gap between my youngest and middle, an eight year gap from my middle and youngest and an 11 year gap from my youngest to eldest. They all have huge benefits and the only downfall I’ve found is that hand-me-downs are out of style by the time our baby can wear them! 🤣

    I had bleeding almost exactly like that with my son at similar weeks and when I went to the doctor he told me I was loosing it and as it was my first child I just believed it. When I went for the scan little bean was jumping away in there and made so happy and relieved. I had never heard of bleeding like that before and it was very scary so it's good you have talked about it. Pleased bubs is well and you're feeling better ☺️❤️

      Exactly the same happened to me. But I was 14 weeks. Was told after an internal examination by a young male dr in A&E I’d lost my baby. Had to wait until the Monday to have a scan as the hospital department was closed over the weekend..... I cried with so much joy to see my healthy perfect baby girl alive and kicking. 💗

    • @kynathebrooklife2673
      @kynathebrooklife2673 3 года назад +2

      I wonder if it’s with boys? Iv been trying to see in the comments if anyone else said it. I was very fortunate that the nurse in A&E was amazing and was passing by when she heard me crying. She was a specialist and didn’t need to help me but it was going to be 4 hour wait on blood work. I will be forever grateful for her.

    • @chloewhite225

      Same too, but I had a girl. I passed a 50p sized clot which the GP had said after I had phoned them initially to call back if I that happened and I thought the same there’s no way a baby could be there with the amount of blood I had passed and there she was happy as Larry! Another thing you don’t get told but better to be safe than sorry to get checked out when you’re allowed too

    You'll never know how grateful im for you for this vlog. This is my first pregnancy 12 weeks into the journey and the first trimester symptoms are worse. Everything you mentioned is what happens or happening for me now. The awful taste in mouth, feeling better in the morning and a mandate nap in the lunch and an awful evening feeling sick n vomiting food aversion to all foods in general it's literally the same. Even the bleeding. I bled last week at night and was shivering with fear and immediately caught cold n fever. Felt grateful when we found the baby is fine. The emotional rollercoaster is on and off and i wish this sick feel will end soon. 😢

    I was pregnant at the same time as you but in 2020 (March conception, November baby) and the night before my 12wk scan I had a bleed very similar to how you described yours. I called the MAC unit and they said as it was a Sunday, and as I had my scan the next day, I was to wait and rest until then. The waiting and going for that scan, alone due to covid (lockdown #1!), and expecting to hear bad news was the worst 24hr hours. I ended up just feeling numb.
    I'm so glad things turned out to be ok for you, and hope you have a smooth ride the rest of your pregnancy.
    Congratulations! xxx

    I do think its sensible to start trying as you do not know when its going to happen or what may happen. It took 2 months to get pregnant with my first and I thought the same would happen with my second. I did get pregnant very quickly but three times ended in miscarriage which was very hard for us. When I finally got pregnant with my second after almost a year of heartache and tests to find out why this was happening, I was so scared throughout the pregnancy that I couldn't enjoy it, which was sad. The funny thing is that we decided to start trying for a third before our second's 2nd birthday as we thought again that it would take a while and we might have the same experience. I got pregnant on the first month of trying 😅 I would never change my experiences for anything and I appreciate my children more than ever because of them. Anyway, after that long winded story, congratulations and wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy xx

    Had to pause to say thank you to all medical professionals at every level that take the time to explain things to you. That speak to you almost like a colleague and a human being, rather than not even trying to have use understand. I’ve never been pregnant (don’t even know if I can due to some things), but I’ve had some scary moments in my life and at one point I had a doctor that would describe my condition as if I was a child asking. after asking like five times I finally stood my ground and demanded that he speak to me like an intelligent human being. Gosh, when you’re worried, you want to be educated and informed, not dismissed.

    I love the detailed discription of all the symptoms. And it also shows that you can NOT tell the sex of the baby by the symptoms you have. - I had a girl first and 2 years and 4 months later a boy. In the beginning, when he would wake up from a nap crying a bit she would climb into his bed next to him, sucking her thumb and fiddeling with his tiny ear - which calmed him immediately. Now they are 27 and 25 and they are as close as any parent could wish for. It makes my eyes watery just thinking of it right now.

    I always find it surprising that there is ‘age gap judgement’ in today’s day. Every family and situation is so different.
    About to have my second baby any day now - fell pregnant when my son was 6 months - totally planned on our part. As an only child it’s going to be so nice to have my children grow up so close in age 😊 We’ve mostly experienced just lots of ‘you’re going to have your hands full’ comments 😆
    Rich’s reaction was so sweet 😍💛

    At week 8 of my ivf pregnancy I had a similar bleed but then at 10 weeks had a severe bleed and at that point was taken to hospital and told the baby was absolutely fine! I then bled for the next 4 months with no effect on the baby. Every time I went to the toilet I was scared. Pregnancy, for me is not overly enjoyable because of the mental anxiety. So pleased for so though and in the end it is all so worth it.x

    I loved this video. I'm in the same boat as you, that I'm in my first trimester. It's my first pregnancy and I've not told anyone but my partner not even parents. We have no idea whats feeling right and whats feeling wrong. But watching this I was like, yes!!! I have that, the sour taste, motion sickness, the looking for blood when I go to the toilet, lower back pain! I had a miscarriage in my 1st and 2nd pregnancy which was devastating to the point that I'm petrified for my 12wk scan now in 2 weeks time. Thank you for sharing.

      Also how odd that on the evening that I watched this video I also got some bleeding. Yes I was freaked out but actually because I had watched your video earlier in the day I don't think I panicked as much as I would have otherwise. Your advice on what the nurse had told you (as long as you're not bleeding through a towel each hour) really helped me to stay calm.

    I would be surprised if people had anything to say about the age gap. 2.5yrs is a good gap. There is only 11 months between me and my sister. For a whole month every year, we are the same age!

    So glad the first trimester went well! Or as well as it can when you’re nauseous. I remember that feeling and it sucks! Be kind to yourself, you deserve it. ❤️

    I find it so interesting how differently pregnancy is treated in different countries. In the US you are supposed to get a scan at 8 weeks and it’s always intravaginal. 2.5 years is standard if not a longer age gap. My best friend’s boys are literally a year apart which is waaaaay too soon for me lol but she wanted her kids close. Congrats on the second baby! Glad everything is better!

    Thank you for your honesty and sharing this experience. I actually found out that I had a pregnancy loss few days before you announced you’re having a baby and I had to disconnect from your channel for a little bit, but came across this video today and feeling nothing but happy and excited for you!

    I had to do the elastic band trick from 8 weeks pregnant! Much bigger bump from a lot earlier in my 2nd pregnancy! My symptoms were pretty much exactly the same! I knew I was pregnant again because I had a few mornings waking up exhausted after a full nights sleep! Congratulations guys! X

    so happy for you guys! My mum wrote a journal during my early childhood (I am the second child) and she had the same `concerns´ - she experienced that she didn't need to find space in her heart but that her heart just doubled :)

    Such an honest video. I’m due early January so currently 13+4. 2nd pregnancy and not planned, my first was a twin pregnancy and 6 years ago so mine has felt very different too, but the tiredness is definitely strong this time. Nausea was less as only 1 baby this time.
    You look great lily you don’t look tired at all x

    Congratulations Lily, I'm so happy everything's gone well so far. It's so fascinating watching your journey, as a person, who hasn't been pregnant and always been a bit unsure about kids.

    So happy for you! With sicknes and how you feel, with me was the opposite.. with my daughter I didn’t even know I was pregnant till week 11, I felt absolutely fine. With my son.. from week 6 till bith (including the actual labour 🤦🏼‍♀️) I was sick every 20-30 minutes 😓 couldn’t sleep or eat anything while with my daughter the pregnancy was like a dream, I was working right through the end and it was just as amazing as I could of imagine. With my son.. it was hell on earth to the point im prettified to get pregnant again 🙈

    Hi Lily! I am very happy for your family and very excited that we are both having a baby boy in November! It's my first pregnancy and i could relate to so many things you mentioned except the nausea, i am for the lucky ones that didn't get any at all...I was sooo so anxious at the beginning, as time went by i became way more calmer,thank god...!At around week 13 i started having brown spotting, it wasn't a lot but omg i was so shocked! i was so thankful that the baby was ok but it lasted two weeks and it drove me crazyyyy...then it suddenly stopped, i am currently on week 20 and every time i visit the toilet i am SO thankful that everything is fine now, these experiences are so traumatic and i often have the feeling that no one talks about them!
