Lowsec yields about 15M to 20M per site. Occasionally, you get a 200M drop. Unfortunately, gankers are everywhere. It's more profitable to be a ganker than an explorer. There is no point in playing in Lowsec as a solo. I've made 5B in exploring, but lost 2B of it to gankers. It's really not much fun. Just going to be a care bear until the event is over. BTW, letting them use bubbles in lowsec pirate systems is a big negative to gameplay.
I found that the risk/reward was best in low-sec as the payouts were consistently higher for the same amount of exposure risk. The main issue I had was that as a light explorer, you had little to no tank, thus making killing you very easy. Given that, every time you need to go to a site is a new chance for death, thus I want to minimize the number of sites I need to hit for the same amount of loot, say 100 million. The low-sec sites I am able to get that number in 4-5 sites, if not less, in addition to having the NPC stations to dock to drop off loot. Being able to deposit loot and then immediately go back to exploring allows for some locking in of gains, though final sale is needed to realize those gains. It is super dangerous, but I have found it to be worth the squeeze. Null-sec, too much risk for too little juice. High-sec, just do the combat sites as they pay far better.
I run hisec only, the first week the sites gave good loot 100mil+ in under 30 minutes; after that it was pretty crap, with over-stated skin values being more than half the claimed loot value - and those skins are mostly unsellable. The only reason I persisted was for the Plex rewards.
The sites have been pretty lackluster this year and last. The first week the drops were good, then the rest of the month the drops are JUNK with barely 50 mil per HOLD of items. I used to like all the skins and other items it dropped but after scanning for most of the month almost every day for at least 2 hours a day its less than 100 mil per hold, and that can take 2 days to fill. I have been going out to the FAR REACHES so there is NO Competition and lots of sites and if you are lucky you might get 1 mil per site, with the occasional 10 mil item every other day. The threads have been worthless this year......
the answer will always be no, the events aren't fun and if you need an event to play eve then you really don't need to be playing eve also the rewards from leveling up there "pass" are meaningless

It sounds like lowsec really isn't the place for you...

If those sites have ice, you'd probably get better isk from ice mining.
Earned more then six billion in Null. High sec doesn't pay well.
