This is the sound of Autumn.
Some Opeth songs truly do paint a picture in the mind.
Every year when Autumn comes, I listen to Opeth.
Autumn 2020
And Hours of Wealth is a dream about a ghost forest with an abandoned train track and Will O' Wisps flying about, which ends as the first two sections of the song ends, with you waking up to a dull life.
Excellent man, well put.
They really need to make a genre just called Opeth.
agreed.
True
+Soverign it already is.
for sure man
Was going to post exactly this Rod...
Therapist: Beardless Mikael can’t hurt you.. he isn’t real.
Beardless Mikael:...
beardless mikeal is still the father of this great song
@@michaeldeel1592 Don't forget the epic unibrow.
He used to be really chubby as well, then he become super slim
😢
Any group that Steven Wilson produces, is definitely worth listening to.
Stay with me awhile
Rise above the vile
Name my final rest
Poured into my chest
Into the orchard, I walk peering way past the gate
Wilted scenes for us who couldn't wait
Drained by the coldest caress
Stalking shadows ahead
Halo of death
All I see is departure
Mourner's lament but it's me who's the martyr
Pledge yourself to me
Never leave me be
Sweat breaks on my brow
Given time ends now
Into the orchard, I walk peering way past the gate
Wilted scenes for us who couldn't wait
Drained by the coldest caress
Stalking shadows ahead
Halo of death
All I see is departure
Mourner's lament but it's me who's the martyr
Spirit painted sin
Embers neath my skin
Veiled in pale embrace
Reached and touched my face
Into the orchard, I walk peering way past the gate
Wilted scenes for us who couldn't wait
Drained by the coldest caress
Stalking shadows ahead
Halo of death
All I see is departure
Mourner's lament but it's me who's the martyr
This video is hilarious. This beautiful haunting song and you got a bunch a shlubby guys drinking beer, smoking cigarettes, and chilling. Hilarious.
Maybe they didn't have enough of money (or didn't want to make smth descent)?
@@stchest But that's part of the hilarity!
I always thought it was relevant. The song is about regret. About memories that are long past gone. Sometimes it's the simplest moments in life that are the most memorable. At least it is for me.
If anything it shows maturity in realizing the mundane and even frustrating life moments can become nostalgic.
Shlubby guys, LOL
And playing video games and ping pong.. it totally doesn’t fit but it’s hilariously awesome and I kinda wonder why they made the vid this way.
Rise above the vile..
This song is so beautiful and relaxing! Mikael Akerfeldt voice is so soothing it makes my mind travel far away!
Harvest is by far one of my all time favorite Opeth songs.
Must be quite the burden to carry to be so fucking gifted.....goddam I love Opeth.
I
ONCE UPON A TIME
CARRIED A BURDEN
INSIDE
Anyone else feel like they go somewhere else when they listen to this song? great stuff
Me too dude
Yessir
I go to Blackwater Park
Every single time.
@@MidnightMark12what you said
I miss Peter Lindgren and Martin Lopez. That opeth lineup was easily untouchable
one of my favorite Opeth pieces out there, it is just soo damn _beautiful_ ...
there aren't many songs that make me sing along, but man, this one? physically can't stop it, what a fantastic piece of art...
My Son introduced me to Opeth - I'm glad he did. I was in a 12 year deep depression and strangely enough this got me out of it !
I've officially seen Mikael Åkerfeldt playing ping-pong.
I don't know where to go from here.
I feel kind of blessed
+UsernameUser damn, i dont have an answer for you.......
And even playing Driver 2 on the PlayStation!
Hard to beleive, but he is also human. Humans play ping pong
Go watch Corpsegrinder shop for discounts at a local Target.
"Sweat breaks on my brow"
Literally
(Im sorry, I had to)
best years of opeth. makes me smile.
Being heavy on several soft notes beautifully
So nostalgic seeing Mikael and Steven :) They should do a tour and play some of the PT songs together too :)
So no one's going to mention Mikael's epic unibrow?
#lifegoals
it is forbidden
"How close are you to having a mental breakdown"? Mikael's eyebrows...
It is sacred.
wait that's åkerfeldt?
I've watched this video like 20 times and I just realized that Steven Wilson is in it lol.
Steven Wilson's there too!!!
He co-produced the album :)
I swear this video is like the “nothing else matters” of Opeth. I love it
This is the most mundane and unexciting music video ever. It's so random. Opeth frickin rocks!
+southernbelle816 I like it -- just the boys hanging out and creating music.
Inspired by Metallica's Nothing Else Matters video I believe.
I'm assuming they didn't have much of a budget for this video. I didn't think Opeth ever bothered with music vids. I know the song well, but never seen this video before!
THIS SONG IS REALLY AWESOME!! Opeth is too deep in their songs!
What is cool with this video is that you see what the guys are doing. They play music, smoke a cigarette, drink a beer, have a laugh, walk around, talk, play... which is the way life is.
The genius of Mikael Akerfeldt... This is gonna be one of my funeral song.
6:02 - best part
Mikael: How tight will it be?
Steven: It will be tight like a witch's cleft
Luuuushh!!
Mike is so talented crazy how he can be melow and than go ballistic with Bloodbath. Got to LOVE Opeth keep on rockin guys. Greetings from Albuquerque New Mexico USA.🤘🤘
I revisit this from time to time. This was great music. Great chord progression. This was Opeth.
I saw these legends in Dubai back in 2008.. I will forever keep bragging about that... they were fucking magical as expected..
I don't know how many times I've listened to the song and every time it's just as special. I want this to play at my funeral.
Highly underrated Opeth song.
monseratto underrated? it's like the most famous song of theirs...
Opeth is just underrated in general
Now it's the top song on Opeth mix
its one of my top four songs
This is probably my favorite Opeth muic video, just casual and nostalgic.
Been almost 20 years since I first watched this, and 10 since I decided to dive into Opeth. Had no idea about the ending here - brilliant!
such a beautiful song, i shall want this played at my funeral
me too
right on man
And instead of a preacher reading bible verses I want a recording of terrace McKenna (rip) describing a DMT trip in full detail... Lol
Eric Cannon well thought out man hahah
+Vathorian i'd go with hours of wealth
Good song to jam too when I am in the forest or deep in the jungles. You will feel your environment that surrounds you.
Plus rain and lighting
Somebody has eaten a Mushroom or 2
never ge bored listening to this song! just respect!
I used to listen to this song twice a day for about three years - never got sick of it. A masterpiece
Love the footage from those years
this particular incarnation of opeth always gives me "the feels"
is that steven wilson?
+Epitaph no its mikael akerfeldt
Abhilash Hegde wow, you don't say? :O
+Epitaph mikael who ? Where is martin lopez?!
+Epitaph Yeah, it's him :)
+Epitaph my bad i meant both steven and michael
I never get tired of this song
I don't care what you say, this is the best Opeth track.
Personally, I like credence more
@@po7356 my favorite Opeth songs: Harvest and Isolation Years (because both are Opeth's calmest songs)
FAVORITE SONG EVER
I still can't believe that in a chubby, unibrowed, badly-clean-shaved guy we have the best composer of modern times.
He looks way better now, but music not so much so here's the theory: opeth music is inversely proportional to mike's coolness factor.
The think that impacts me the most is his voice at the end LOL, I want to believe that he was mocking someone.
@@demonedellautunno Fake News. ICV is awesome.
I found the song a bit boring.
It was the best concert in Bogota - Colombia ❤️ i lov you guys!!!!
Ohhh, this is nostalgic for me 😢💔
Kinda the video's purpose !
They have a great understanding of how to set a mood or feeling but it also takes someone to have a good ear to pick up on what that is. You must be really connected to the music that's cool and I totally agree :)
P.s this was relating to the autumn comment
1:04 that key change is just throws me in some other world
Bring forth the fall air. Such a beautiful song
This was a favourite of mine when I was in highschool, 12 years ago... lol... still love it, amazing, one of my favourites :)
We're about on the same timeline, I was an Opeth slave around that time. Guess I still am
Steven Wilson also was the engineer/mixing for Pale Communion..
Who's this guy singing Harvest? Akerfeldt, you were born with facial hair!
Huahhahahahah
Such a serious song with such a laid back nonchalant music video. I want to see something at least relatively close to the magic that plays within my head when I listen to this song that was clearly written to be unimaginably profound.
Yeah, I was disappointed at first too, but it's such a fucking power move for the video to just be them in the studio dorking around and being humans.
@@phyrestorm999 i feel it
@@darksinthe "Getcha shit together, man! Ya know who I am? I'm fuckin' Mikael!" :P
This is just how Mikael is. Saddest music ever, "no happy music" ever, but still he's a funny and easy dude. I l love the dicothomy
I will never stop watching this video clip ❤
Brividi e vecchi ricordi
So relaxing. I trully enjoy the variety of music that Opeth provides cuz I'm in love also with their heavy stuff. If you want to listen to similar music go listen Intronaut or The Missing Watermelon!
20 years of the release of this song on the masterpiece #BlackwaterPark snd still sounds ahead of its time ..... yeah #Opeth
The best music for my roadtrips
Eles deram duro pra fazer esses álbuns!
This is a really great track!
essa musica é muito linda....top
Sandy Denny, Jackson C. Frank and Nick Drake are the Folk Artist with huge impact to Mikael's acoustic passages in Opeth song.
Love this song, deep
Lol 2:30 Steve eating chips. It’s rumoured one can hear the crunching throughout all the recordings.
2022 this still sounds amazing
Chills me to my bones
The best 6 minutes ever made
What the hell was that stuff @ 6:02 into the vid? Haha!
mourner's lament but it's me who's tomato
Born of cement but it's me who's tomato

A que ser humano no le encanta Opeth?

This and an assortment of other opeth songs will be playing on my death bed, going into eternity with the great feeling of nostalgia and power
This used to be one of my lovesongs.
The Yngwie Malmsteen imitation at the end, priceless!
I thought I was the only one who remebers Yngwie, I'm going to dig him back up out of my memory.
I don't eat donuts
Wonderful music 🥰
this is so deep
This is a good Resolution ! .... really nice actually !
Very minimalist!! Great!! Yeah Opeth !!
best opeth line up.... majestic
Best underrated song ever
"WHEN THA FIRE STARTS TO BURN! RIGHT? AND IT STARTS TO SPREAD!"
"YOU GOIN' BRING THAT ATTITUDE HOME!!!!??????"
Disclosure 👍
What does Disclosure have to do with this song?
+Brady Thomas she don't wanna do nothin' what they LIKE
@@Qualex14 probs an advertisement
In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Opeth Spirit.
lmao steven wilson just chillin in the studio with them
Steven Wilson does some production work for Opeth and vice versa
he was the producer
Specifically he produced the vocals and lead guitar parts on Blackwater Park he also performed the keyboard and piano parts. Michael and Peter produced the drums, bass and rhythm guitar parts
This was the end of Opeth with Wilson 😏
He sang on Bleak
best song ever
Great!
Opeth mí banda favorita del heavy industrial
2:28 john lennon appears
Mario García its out lord steven wilson
soulful ballad.
The Master & the Magi.. When those 2 guys get together..
Crazy to think that, at the time of this video, they had 5 full length studio albums under their belt.
The biggest influence in my music career!
i think this video has the scene encasing my record of watching dudes casually eating pizza whilst having a nice day of work
I imagine a castle on the side of a mountain when I hear this song
Essa música é meu tema de vida
