I had an old case that wasn't any good but had a slide-out tray for the motherboard. Kept that and it makes for a great test bench. Free too. Did have to clip some parts off.
You can take you're chances on bent pins cpu, they're relatively easy to bend back, they much more resilient than LGA pins. I've got a Ryzen 3600 for 10 CAD with box and cooler, guy wanted 80 for it, but when I pointed at bent pins he lowered the price to 10, 15 minutes fiddling with tweezers and my phone as magnifying glass I've got a working 3600 for at least 50 cad less than market price. Also 1600 is a pretty good CPU still and cheap, should work with your boards.
@@NoodlesTBograt that was the last step, in my case few pins were bent completely, parallel to the substrate, after I bend them vertically enough, I was able to use razor blade to level them with the rest. I believe that somebody tried to push CPU against the keys in the socket, and he pushed quite hard.
New test bench? I took apart an old gateway pc and have been using the bare frame as mine. I’ve got a vid up on it. Just painted it black. Also would recommend the Cooler master Qube 500
Great video man, the only concern was the removal of that glued on bracket from dell. Man they don't think huh? I was just a little worried about the paint chipper or tool pressing into the board. Anyway, been enjoying your content for years. keep it up man.
Yep I rebuilt an Xbox XS controller this morning and forgot the pair button. Sometimes it's best to sort your mail (was going to use "post" or "posty prezzy" UK) before you burn your fingers✌
i just went thru this with a 5800x ryzen7 i thought it was the board bought another one and doing the same thing i bought a new chip both boards work fine
I use slider freezer bags with a white label box to store my PSU cables in and put the name and model number and year I got the PSU too. I like older CPUs to download steam, epic, gog and other frontends and play my library of arcades or pinball games. I just LOLED to the gradual burn and eww that's hot cause, I have definitely never done anything like that eeevvveeerrr.
Guess you tried booting the system without the bios battery in as well ? Some motherboards refuse to boot if that battery is empty & can appear as broken then.
my pc turned it self off the otherday then was stuck with a orange dbug light on which is bios. I went into the bios turned off xmp and the auto cpu overclocking thing then saved and turned pc off by power then waited 10 seconds turned it back on and it turned on and went to windows, so i did a bios update. then after the bios update i turned on xmp and the auto cpu overclocker. Now when i turn pc on my 2ed stick of rgb ram dose not light up in till i am at the sign into windows screen where before it was on couple of seconds after i turned pc on. Both ram sticks work and not had a single crash since the bios update so im guessing it is just something msi added into the bios where it dose not give power to 2ed ram stick in till pc is loaded.
Why on Earth would you buy one of those crappy motherboards when a better current case compatible solution is readily available? If you are flipping these then having a spare gen 3 or lower Ryzen cpu is a must and would have saved you the trouble. Just sayin, as a business owner that wasn't the best idea and you have had good ones consistently. I had to laugh but wanted to scream the whole time.
Pretty rad that they sent you a whole box full of be quiet stuff.
Just so you know. Older motherboards with new bios's only took away the older apu support. Ryzen 1000, 2000 is still supported.
some oem mbs support the first gen only
my test bench is an old motherboard box 😆 works great
Pure Powers are nice. Good job on that. It shows some good fortune coming towards your channel.
Oh and keeping parts is a good thing you never know when you need it my thing I do
Well its the cpu for sure because if you just got that dell board it has to be the cpu 100%
That power supply is worth more than your whole inventory.
soo true lol..

I straightened my pins with a stanley knife blade very easy job

try another battery the cmos may not be getting 3.3... you should look for a motherboard tester which just plugs into a pci slot 1
you should be able to ser the motherboard stand off parts permantly because all motherboards have a standard motherboard mount position
I like the Inwin Alice for a test bench setup. It's open air and an interesting look.
8:05 yea I can agree with that, I have a similar test bench (same construction but stands vertical) and it can be a pain sometimes

FYI, you spelled, "have" incorrectly in your title image.

"Refurbished" means it was plugged in, a CPU thrown on and it posted.

I don't know if it would help, but I have a Ryzen 5 3600 if you want it. I upgraded to a Ryzen 9 5900 and don't need it anymore.
def... email me at dlmtechgarage@gmail.com
Check the m/b support for other Ryzen cpus, and try them instead
Try to make sure the board is working or not by using any ryzen 1000
5:08 Salvage everything even the CMOS battery
i just went thru this with a 5800x ryzen7 i thought it was the board bought another one and doing the same thing i bought a new chip both boards work fine
R7 1700 is still around $40-50 on ebay. I did however grab up a R5 2600 for $25 and a R5 1600af for $22 this weekend
Did you try the memory in a different slot? Also what cable did you use from the GPU? HDMI is preferred.
ROFL caught you said 730 then 1030 bad baoy
Nails can't type lol (boy)
lol...

I don't understand why they glue things to computer components. Its like screws are non existent to them.
Good Day
You too
I have a i5 11400f and a gigabyte z490 vision board. Let me know.
I'm sure if you did this already but did you check or replace the CMOS battery on the refurb M/B?
Time to buy a couple Ryzens!

You sure that CPU is compatible with the motherboard? It may not be what came with the board originally for example.
With first gen Ryzen not being supported for win 11, wouldn't a Ryzen 2600 or better be a better choice? Not much more than a 1700 on eBay I think.
... and before you even realize it, you have a almost complete collection of CPUs & Boards for testing purposes and repairs 😂
ha ha so true!!
Got a test rig from Temu - really cheap.
The ram .
First 4 minutes i have never been this early before to any yt video....
Why does a 1200 w psu come with molex.. Who is using hdds that aren't using the sata interface.
Cheating using the screwdriver lol
ha ha my electric screwdriver just shows my lazyness lol...
Wait, why to go with the same cpu??
Why not to go for the faster cpu??
destructions lol
lol psu a little overkill
under 15min gang👇
A Ryzen 7 1700 is a 'potato' PC?? News to me

If you trade me a R5 5600 for my R7 1700 I'm running watching this video
