Personally, I came up with my own variation on the heel-drag. I call it the chin-drag.

Radius or ulna? Wrists are the most vulnerable bone group for those under 25 and over 40. I wear wrist guards whenever I skate... Did you bail on your hands?
@@ollieanthem9213 radius, impacted on both ends. will definitely be wearing a wrist guard for awhile after this. cruising downhill with a backpack, always a good idea. at least i had the helmet !

On "foot drags" If you care about the sole of your pushing foot i suggest trying to make contact with the ground only with your heel, as that part of the sole isn't really used when you skate.

in antofagasta, chile..we usually just use the frontslide or foot drag to reduce the speed or get stopped by complete, it's nice to know new ways to stop in a city full of hills
what i like the most is the frontslide but without getting stop, just to reduce speed in mid of a down hill

I'm glad I watched this. I've been trying to learn to powerslide but no other tutorial has said I need to do a little hop to begin it. Would never have known otherwise.
Also I live in SF. Hills are scary.
I used to live in the panhandle of SF so I know. 💙🛹💙
After finding out that I should have been slowing the board down with the heels and not the tail of the board, I feel like I’ve abused the deck 😢. Feeling so bad for it now. Thanks for teaching this, from now on I’ll do better!

What I learned: If you are a beginner and are too afraid of how fast things go and you jump of the board: Just call it a "trick" and invent a cool name for it to impress onlooking bystanders :D
