@@rachanasinnarkar2821 didn't think about that, but I don't see why not. I tried it over plain jasmine rice and I thought it was good. Experiment and let us know.

I did it without Scallions + Cilantro and kept it for 2 weeks and it taste fine to me. I only add Scallions + Cilantro when needed.

Normally I wouldn't comment about a dipping sauce, and it's so simple, but I feel I must . I first made this (with chilli oil), from this video, about 2 years ago. It was absolutely amazing. Honestly, I've thought about this sauce a lot since. OK, I have a life, so I don't dream about it, but I was always going to come back. Made my second today. I would say, not as good as my memory serves, but still an amazing sauce (I think perhaps the black vinegar was lower quality this time). Anyway, the most telling thing about this sauce is, you find yourself thinking about what things you can buy to dip into it. Believe it.
Beware, this ratio doesn't work if you do double amounts of sauce, it gets too acid. Otherwise, awesome sauce :)

It boggles my mind that this is not a standard dipping sauce in dim sum restaurants.I bring my own homemade dipping sauce of these ingredients to enjoy for dim sum.
I use that dipping sauce for every boiled dishes. Tastes really good. I want my sauce thicker so I add some oyster sauce.
I'm just curious. Would it be wrong to add just a hint of sweetness to this sauce.
I was thinking maybe a 1/4 teaspoon of Brown Sugar ?

Vinegar should be 1/2 spoon, or else the vinegar flavore will overwhelm the soy sauce. Also, add 2 tea sppon of brown for that little sweetness.

White vinegar works just as well
It's good but pan frying dumps or wonton, ends up being too much oil and most of the flavors just slide off. Something that will really somewhat soak into will go best

I guarantee you if every single person in the world made this same recipie each one would have a slightly different taste to it no matter how *authentic* it is to the original.

Can you make this sauce without the cilantro?
I did it without Scallions + Cilantro and it taste fine. Although my Gram love Scallions + Cilantro and she put it in everything.... But I did it without and taste just as good. I used it on dumplings I bought from the store.

I dont have rice vinegar. Can u tell a substitute?
I used Balsamic Vinegar, taste fine with me. It's hard to find Rice Vinegar where I live, so that was my substitute and it worked.
apple cider vinegar gives a nice flavor
