On the back of the foundations there should be a little makeup container thing and then it will say e.g. 12,6,16,24 and that's how many months you should keep it for x

But I think that if you store your makeup the right way it lasts even longer (of course you should smell it before if it's ok) but this dates usually expire faster than the actual product.
then you have to remember when you bought/opened them lol! not so bad for people like me who only has a couple of foundations but I bet it's near impossible for sophie to keep track of. would be so much more useful if they had dates on them.
Amy Dean but actually most of the times you can use the foundations much longer than it says on the bottle! Normally you can see changes in texture or smell and then you should throw them away :)
Tip for cushion foundations , flip the sponge over and you have soo much more

Ok let's just say this video is absolutely the most satisfying thing I've watched on RUclips in 2019 so far because it's just literally so satisfying you sit there and watch people give out or take out what make-up products they don't like out of their collection which is what I want to do with my life one day
I went and had my skin color tested it came up as porcelain. They tried a porcelain foundation on me and it was too dark.pale people problems. Love you soph x❤️

he4ther 123 I have yellow tones, I think but I’m in the middle of porcelain and ivory so I have no idea what shade that would be. I’m assuming I’m like two or one shade darker than porcelain.

It’s interesting to hear which ones you liked since I’m looking for new things, it’s so long since I used much that it’s all at least two years old. They all have that little symbol on them with the number 6, 12, 18 or 24 (I’ve seen 30 on nail polish) to tell you how many months to keep them for. I’ve ignored it and have a few things from when I was 14, but foundation is probably meant to last for two years at most.

I like your nails! Also, I think that liquid foundation is supposed to be kept for about 18 months...idk, some places say only about 6 months, so maybe it depends on the foundation.
lol I have 2 foundations... w7 photoshoot foundation less than £3 is my fave haha. You should organise them by date in your drawers! older stuff at the front then you'll use it up quicker :) make your way to the newer stuff at the back. I'm an organising freak haha

OhMyQuerren does not work for me, they are all wrong undertone and too dark for my skin. I actually struggle a lot finding pale foundation that would be affordable but still the right shade and undertone :(
maybe get some of those foundation lightening drops that she mentioned, nyx and revolution make them
Georgiana Sara these could work, I really like Revolution. The problem is that these new products are not available in my country yet, we always wait at least half a year for 'new' stuff. I have one other brand at home but it makes all of the foundations look like crap.

Soph, the Benefit pore-fessional thing in the pink packaging is not a foundation, it goes under your foundation. I got this for Christmas and had no idea what is was so did some testing and basically, you put it where your pores are and pat it in with the sponge and it fills in your pores so that your foundation goes on smoother. It's really good and actually works amazingly!! Love you 😬💕

Out of all the ones you have kept what is your favorite high energy , mid range & budget ones ? Just wondering as you still have so many & it's hard to tell which you would highly recommend in those price brackets, I love declutter videos, I thinks it's fantastic you are giving away to women's refuge, I'm really proud of you for doing this instead of just throwing them away as you are going to help so many people feel better about themselves when they are going through a really tough time x
if you look on the back of your foundation, (or any makeup product) there is a tiny picture of a little pot and it will say 6M or like 12M (months) which lets you know how long it stays good for! ✨✨✨

I use Lancome Teint Idole all year around, when im pale in the winter i just mix it with NYX white mixer, it doesn't mess with the formula. Works great! I recommend the NYX mixer, has worked so far with all my foundations very well :)

Once they’re open it’s supposed to be 6 months to a year Xxxx (or two if you’re lucky) xx
For date of any makeup product, look at the back- you should find what looks like a opened face cream tub. It will say “6m” or 12m”- that’s how long it can be kept and used after opening! :)

With the Lancôme foundation just use lightening drops with it
On the packaging of the foundation bottles (and other makeup) there is a kind of cream pot with the lid open and most of the time it has the number 12 on it, which means that after you open it you can keep it up to 12 months and after that it is supposedly out of date! Hope this will help some of you✨♥️

When I buy foundation I place a sticker on one of the sides with the date I opened it , coz the 12M on the side of the bottle is how long your meant to keep them hence why I date when I open them

Love these decluttering videos but I think the body shop fresh nude foundation would be better for you if you got the shade Bora Bora because it’s more yellow toned but if it’s too dark you could always mix it with lightening drops because that’s what I do ♥️ Thought this might help you , love you xxxx

The little open jar image on the backs of makeup products have numbers in them and it shows you how long they last. I have the nyx stay matte but not flat foundation and it last 12 months so one year.

Yes!!! I’m the same shade as you which I realised not so long ago. I have been using the revlon colour stay for over 3 years in the shade buff! This is so helpful to know my shades in other foundations 😌 xx

I only own 3 different foundations , dermacol, the revolution fast base stick , collection lasting perfection foundation but I mostly use the dermacol one as it is such good coverage. ❤️❤️❤️. Btw soph I absolutely love you , watched all your videos from the very first one, you make my day so much better , I own your eyeshadow and highlight palette and use them all the time , they are gorgeous !!!!! 😍😍😍

I completely agree about L'oreal cushion foundation. It's good but if you consider amount to the price it's high-end price. I used it last summer lasted me maybe a month.

hello dear!i really love your videos but i have a comment to make .in some cases you said "im gonna keep it cause its expensive" and in my ears that looks like your idea of good and bad is depending on money but i think thats not the case because as subscribers we hear opinions from you and you are called influencers that says something so you should say which of them are good and which of them are not depending on the quality etc and of course if you want to mention "yes its good and expensive" or " its terrible and expensive" for me(and I am saying for me because maybe others are not thinking the same) is better !no hate! just an honest opinion :) love
i think the only reason she's keeping it "because it's expensive" is not because of the product necessarily but because she would feel she would be throwing away her hard-earned money if she threw it away.

they say the date next to the ingredients on the back. theres an icon with a tub open with a month in it. this tells you how long your supposed to keep a foundation once opened. its usually 12m 💕💕

the la girl pro conceal in the shade porcelain is so dark too! i have to mix a white concealer in whenever i use it!
Have you considered getting the cover fx customiser drop things to help lighten foundations if you want to wear them at different times of the year? I've seen other people use them and they seem super helpful
Hi Soph on the bottom of ur foundation (or any make up/ cosmetics) there will be a symbol that looks kind of like an open jar, and it will have a number on it with an m next to it the m stands for months and this tells you how long to keep it for💕

Love declutter videos! As for foundation life span once opened they normally last 12-24 months they should all have a picture of a pot (looks like a face moisturiser pot) on the back of the bottle/tube with a number above it thats roughly how long it will last before going off (all makeup and skin care products have that pot on the back)
I love watching foundation declutter videos too! Just keep an eye on the smell and consistency of the foundation. If either of those starts to change, that generally means it's going bad and should be thrown out. I have foundations that I've had for over 3 years and they're all still ok since I store them in a cool dry place
On the back of the foundation it will have a little pot sign with a number in it- that number is the amount of months you can keep it for once opened ❤️❤️❤️
My fave foundation is the kat von d foundation mixed with the urban decay naked foundation. Makes the kat von d less thick and adds more coverage as the naked foundation isnt full coverage
for the l'oréal cushion foundation you can flip the sponge over on to the other side and you can get some more product :)
