    Man, I'm proud of myself. I've understood this things back when I was just 10 years old I noticed some of this stuff and started adjusting, Not to this grade! but certainly understood that blocking some stuff helped a lot and long roads screw the economy over. Sure I've never played online but I feel proud anyways.

    Close the inn, no one needs to eat just work work work a 9-5 job like a mindless zombie.

      And three years after your comment, they are still working. No 9 to 5 job, 24/7 for serfs. You'd be way better off as a butcher, that's for sure.

    Biggest problem I have is where to put woodcutters. They plant trees all over my town, it's so annoying! And I build so many and still run out of wood a lot.

    I think that bakery and butchery have to be build as close to inn (or storehouse if you want store food for soldiers) as close as possible. They produce 2x (3x) more goods and accept only 1 input goods. So it is better if serf will carry one flour longer distance than 2 bread.

      very hard to plan out but that is indeed the ideal situation. preferably you have them both next to the swinefarm/mill and the inn.

      Dicsoupcan Als je Pokemon in een verbeterde fanmade versie wilt spelen moet je Pokemon Zeta is proberen. Geen emulator voor nodig :D

      Hehe ik ken het, speel het er soms is naast zit op bijna 50 speeluren maar nog steeds niet in de tweede wereld.. Ze zitten er alle 650 in en het max level is 120, zal nog wel een dikke 100 uur nodig hebben gok ik.

    This game is stronghold style! If you've played stronghold, try to keep what you learned there in mind! Also don't build over 3 construction sites or your serfs might bug out. UNLIKE in stronghold not everything is delivered to the stockpile. Sometimes serfs will take materials directly to their processing area. Grain directly to the mill or pig farm for instance.

      you mention stronghold. i see you are a man of culture aswell :). i see what you are saying, but sometimes a production chain happens to be full, so the serf takes it to the storage area and then it brings it to the next production chain. it is more efficient to have the good in the storehouse blocked. better have it stored at the start of the chain then the storehouse, unless it starts to clog up which means something is wrong.

      @@AAPNL12 Yes indeed, I've beaten every campaign and trail on offer from the first one to legends. Including Extreme, and both crusaders trails.
      This is a good line of thinking. One could also arrange the production in a line so that the finishing production is closest to the stockpile, it would take some planning, but starting with the resource generation farthest out then creating a line that ends at the stockpile would be the ideal line.

      To be honest, I find this game harder to master than Stronghold - and I completed Stronghold both military and economic campaigns and have hundreds of hours in Crusader.

    cutters is an interesting one, and it all depends on the map and strategy. but whatever you do, 2 woodcutters in the center is unavoidable or else you will have woodproblems. for example golden cliffs loc 6)i make 2 at the little forest and all others above the iron/gold mountains. (ther is a second forest there). after like 30 minutes you set your first 2 cutters to cut only an there will be no trees blocking stuff. this might be a good next Q&A video to explain since text is not enough.

    Usualy i build diferent storehouses, near diferent resourcer cicles. A storehouse for food, other for stones and wood, and another one for gold and iron. In the last case, i often make one storehouse for iron e other for gold, both near some coal deposit. Am i making in the right way?

      well that would technically work, but in multiplayer time is crucial, so while you are making extra storehouses the enemy will probably have made more weapons or food production which means you will lose either the early army game or the late economical game. i usually build my towns in a way that you technically do not need the storehouse and could destroy it without your town collapsing. the only reason i do not destroy it for more space ie because leftover food might be stored which generally is the only thing that i will store.

    when doing the build efficiency thing, i like to have a prepared build plan while the builders go build a prepared building. i noticed every time you go from building inn to quarry, you didn't make the quarry build plans as the builders went to build the inn. that left the serfs doing nothing until they finished the inn.
    also, i tend to try to build in diagonals whenever i can. i don't think it's efficient for serfs to walk in L's everywhere, and clog each other in and out on a single road towards 4 quarrys, for example. i notice watching other videos, no one is doing this. maybe it's a waste of space and stone, but that's what i'm doing now as a novice.
    not much i can contribute as a beginner, but i tend to focus my attention around inn and storehouse access. blocking certain wares to storehouse is a good tactic though that i learned from this video.
    i tended to create an additional store house next to iron and gold mines, so they would shortcut there instead of the original storehouse. but this is not as clean as what you did with creating more production buildings outright, along with blocking of those wares (coal, gold, iron) that you don't want to travel to main storehouse.
    i almost always try to structure main resources under the initial storehouse and inn, and have double road in front of each almost always. because there are 5 ways a serf can walk onto the entrance square of the building, i try my best to utilize 5 directions by fanning the town below. doesn't usually amount to much, because the main resources are just wheat and wood inside the main town area, but in the last clip, i put woodcutters at the bottom right, with farms in the bottom middle (along with their associated production buildings next to them. because you didn't focus on storehouse access, i think you actually are zoomed in on a bottleneck at 16:10. they are getting gold from the left, farm from the bottom, wood from the top, on a single T like road, accessing the storehouse only from the right.

      you got valid points there. However this tutorial was more aimed at multiplayer where you do not have the time to make double roads and inns. i might have picked a poor exmaple with the map though, since it was scripted to have the next building unlock once you finish the first one like it was in the original game. under normal circumstances you let a builder dig out the next blueprint ahead so serfs keep working indeed. nice spot on the bottleneck, building a road next to the farm so serfs can go to the storehouse with the gold from the other side would have toally fiexed it.

      @@AAPNL12 ok, that makes total sense. forgot some maps/mission did not allow you to build quarry before inn.
      yup, watching some pvp is making me question my relaxed town building style. diagonal roads and double roads are probably not worth it compared to raw resource production increase with the time saved by not building extra roads (more farmers farming instead of more roads). but i'm the type of player that gets a kick out of serfs not being road blocked.

      i was showing the difference betwene efficient and not efficient. unless you have a megabase in singleplayer you only need one inn.

      that's a hard one. it varies per map. but as general rule between 70-90 serfs and 20-25 builders will be allright.

      Go to buildings then click the red cross and click with it on the farm and then click destroy (I have very bad English)

      if by storehouse you mean barracks that is the best thing you can do :) othrrwise why would you do that?

      usually in mutliplayer maps you have no space, but if you have it sure by all means do it. a second storehouse is a waste of space, time and resources. if you build your town right it should be able to run without storehouse. the only reason to keep your storehouse and not destroy it for more space is to store extra food for troops if you make any.

      Okay, what about recruits? When should I make them? Is one school enough? I'm currently playing singleplayer, getting through all the missions and I always wait with the recruits until I have like 50+ weapons and armor.

      oh in singleplayer just recruit whenever you want. untill the later missions you ususlaly have 2~3 hours before the ai attacks. in mutliplayer if you build your town right you usually need like 80~90 recruits for your amount of weapons so using 2 schools 17 minutes bfore peacetime (usually an hour) is early enough, unless your gold production is bad.

      PC Gamer_Bowler this really is good game, original was mede in 1998, i have still not seen same mechanigs done do well in newer games. You should buy copy of this by steam and then google "kam remake" and install and play it. without remake it will suck baaaaallllllssss, because resolution is shit and zooming doesnt exist. But in the end good game, first of it kind, hours of fun for patient player.

    one thing i've noticed in this video... it's hardly for PvP, so you need to know exactly your map, and same kno exactly your spot on the map... that's just esports knowledge... and i need to get it :v

      @@AAPNL12 it's not for my brain xD i gave RTS's long time ago and i feel there's no turning back for me. i'm more fluent in retro RPG's mechanics nowadays. but dayum... i need to go back to KaM and try again those tactics
      EDIT: ok, i say what you wanted to say watching other video. so, for clarification. for 'knowing maps' i meant that how to build roads, buildings, remembering square by square where to build that objects. map maker won't do anything while playing (;
