I think he's the GOAT. Ronaldo, Messi, Neymar, etc., all learned from him! Sadly, he was such a partier, that his career didn't last. Had he been more serious about his career, there would be no question. He was a joy to watch, and my all-time favorite.

He's definitely in the top 10-15 players of all time and was the best in the world for a couple of years around 2005 and 2006.

Ronaldinho is like that one absolute genius character who could be the most powerful being in the story but just want to have fun. His peak career is way shorter than it could have been due to his hedonistic lifestyle and lack of discipline, a "childlike genius who never grew up". Some said Ronaldinho could have been the greatest of all time if he's more professional, but some other said it is that personallity that give him those pure artistic performances.

I had to explain Ronaldinho to someone who hasn't watched football since the late 70's/early 80's.
I went with, "the Brazilian George Best", and he got it instantly.
The ability, the career trajectory, the off-field shenanigans.

People always fight about Ronaldo and Messi, one thing everybody can agree on though is the love for Ronaldinho.

Ronaldinho is a legend of the game and i seriously doubt the streets will ever forget him 😂
Tbh he is one of my favorite players along with Messi (who he mentored in Messi early career btw) and would have definitely been ranked easily as a all time top three player, however his prime only lasted 3/4 years while he wàs in Barca due to the typical Brazilian tendency to party too much 🫣😂
As it was i would still place Ronaldinho in the all time top 10 easily.👍❤️
He won the 2002 world cup with Brazil 😊
If you want to check out different players in different positions then I would recommend Xavi, Sergio busquets and Andres Iniesta who all played with Messi at Barca ( Busquets is now also with Messi in Miami 😉)

Ronaldinho’s peak was the highest the world has ever seen by far. Only ronaldo fenomeno comes very close. It only lasted a couple of years.

When it comes to all around talent i have never seen anyone better than him. Imo he is the best that has ever done it, his only downfall is that he partied off the field too much and did not have the discipline to have the longevity that others have, he was at his true peak from 2002 to about 07-08.. to put things in perspectice, he still has more freekick goals than messi.

Ronaldinho is not among the greatest ever, but he is certainly among the greatest of his generation. He is not one of those players who always made you win the game, but he sure filled the stadiums every time as you can see.

When he went to jail in Paraguay, the crime rates went up because people wanted to go to jail to play football with him there 🤣 True story, he made a whole generation fall in love with football. And when Messi was a kid, he was his mentor and passed the torch to him. Ronaldinhos prime was pretty short, he liked to party more unfortenatly. But man, was he magical.

Yes for me Ronaldinho is the greatest player I have ever seen in my lifetime. People who say it is Messi can only make that claim using _stats_ which is fair enough if you judge that way. But watch either player at their best and it is Ronaldinho who dazzles and amazes and Messi just doesn't.
Yeah Ronaldinho won the 2002 World Cup with a fantastic Brazil team that included Ronaldo _'O Fenômeno'_ (the phenomenon), Rivaldo, Roberto Carlos, Cafu, Gilberto Silva and others who were too good to be also-rans like Edmilson or Kleberson but found themselves in this incredible team. [NOTE - many excellent players can't get near the World Cup because it depends which country you are from really, eg from another era there was an amazing player called George Best, he lit up the football fields of England playing for Manchester United and was undoubtedly one of the most talented players of his era, but his national team was Northern Ireland so he had no chance to even play on that stage].
Ronaldinho was already one of my favourites to watch because of his outrageous skills and silly grin, clearly loving playing the game, but he truly sealed his place in my heart with *that* goal against England in the WC quarter finals 2002 (it's at 14:11 in your video, English goalkeeper David Seaman just looks puzzled). The English pundits were trying to say it was an accident or something like this, I was LMAO at them, had they never seen this guy play and recognised his insane ability?! That also lined up a joke at the time, I'll credit my buddy Martin for cracking it:
Q: Why do Brazilians have such big willies?
A: So they can lob Seaman from 35 yards.

13:16 yes a bicycle kick, he was the free kick shooter at barca until messi grew older (not a teenager) and got better at it

How would we rate Ronaldinho?...well, at least top 50 of all time..since there are only 45 players that have ever won the balon D'Or and he is one of them.

  • @Gabrielnobre

Judging just for the skills at his prime (because he, like most brazilians, liked to party A LOT, so his physical prime didn't last too long), he was probably the second best of all. He only loses do the GOD/KING OF FOOTBALL: PELÉ.

  • @damodeste
    @damodeste 11 месяцев назад +2

He would been GOAT if he was more focused and professional. Lack of discipline cost him his prime. He won everything in football before the age of 25. Then mentored Messi to be GOAT with help Xavi and Inesta.
