Eu acho que o Pelé fez isso, ele zerou o futebol, mas serviu de inspiração e não uma ressaca, porque o futebol tinha muito pra crescer. O Pelé pegou o futebol na quinta posição, já era um esporte em declínio, com menos da metade da audiencia dos esportes a frente, e entregou futebol na liderança com o dobro de audiência. Por isso era considerado o embaixador do futebol, literalmente atuava como embaixador. Mas eu concordo que o futebol entrou numa ressaca depois do Ronaldinho, não por culpa dele, mas ele foi o ápice, o maior showman depois de Pelé, e coincide com o ápice de popularidade do futebol, quando atingiu os maiores níveis de audiência. Depois disso o futebol entrou em um declinio gradual, ainda é o maior esporte, mas já da pra perceber claramente que não é a mesma coisa, esgotou a fonte de inspiração e o talento individual sucumbiu numa era de tática coletiva. Na minha experiência eu lembro que todo mundo falava do homem, todo mundo parava pra ver ele jogar no Barcelona, até quem não gostava de futebol, era certeza de espetáculo, eu nunca vi um time e um jogador tão badalados globalmente, nem Messi e CR7, que construiram carreiras maiores e mais dominantes, também conseguiram ser personalidades além o futebol, mas não atrairam tanta atenção do mundo apenas pela arte do futebol como o Ronaldinho fez naquele momento. Eu acho que foi um fenômeno irrepetível, o cara certo, no lugar certo e na hora certa.

For some reason, I felt overwhelmed with emotion watching this, all the memories of watching Ronaldinho as a kid flooding back to me. It was such a joy to watch Ronaldinho in his prime. He was one of the players that made me fall in love with football, the way he plays really epitomizes "the beautiful game".
The thing that always gets me about Ronaldhino ... I coach HS soccer in the US; I can pull of some of those moves against my players when we run scrimmages. But if I play against other players my age/skill level I can no longer make folks look stupid consistently. Ronaldhino ... he pulled off these training ground tricks and stunts against La Liga and other top-flight players every single game! And even thought they absolutely had to know what was coming, they could do nothing about it. He was the epitomy of awe-inspiring.

I think this Ronaldinho video its not the best to show how good he actually was, lots of camera shots were from too close to show all his skills, but he was way more than just skills. Speed, power, vision, IQ, unmatched ball control... pure magician, he had it all.

This Man started the coming back of Barcelona back in the day, he was the begining of greatness and one of the best teachers Messi could have, he was a great influence and he even gave Messi the pass for his first goal at 17 with the first team, lobbed pass, lobbed goal. People who don't play soccer do not realize just how insanely hard it is to keep the ball under such tight control at those levels of speed. Just look how close he is able to keep the ball so close to his body when most people would push the ball several meters ahead of themselves when moving at those speeds, he manages to keep the speed going and still keep the ball within a meter. That is just so hard to do. And the fast elastico trick he does is just insane. To me there is and never has been any other player in the history of soccer that rivals the technical ability of Ronaldinho.

In his prime, Barcelona and to some extent Milan, he was out of this world. You can name just about every player ever in history and say "there will be someone like him, eventually".... I can say without any doubt in my mind that there will never be ANYONE like Ronaldinho, ever.

He was an absolute genious of football. Too bad he was a genious who loved partying *way too much.* He just didn't have any discipline or work ethics. And, eventually, his sparks of brilliance got more and more scarce. I'm from Barcelona, and I remember the fanbase always feeling extremely grateful for what he accomplished. But, at the same time, I also remember a general feeling of deception due to his inconsistency and constant "scandals". At the end, we could only shake our heads and sincerely wish him the best in his next team.
Something to keep in mind with these compilation videos of the great players, is the quality of the opposition they're doing it against. Like most world class players, they played a decent chunk of their professional careers in VERY good teams, playing other VERY good teams. Experienced defenders and goalies are aware of all the trickery, but he's still able to beat them. Someone else to look at it Diego Maradona. He had a low centre of gravity, could ride tackles like nothing, and usually popped through the other side of a challenge, with the ball still stuck to his feet.
I've seen a number of American reacts to football legends videos. I love them because I can see the reaction of people discovering first hand why we love our sports. It's even better with you because I can see you actually understand and appreciate how crazy this guy is. To give you a little bit of context this guy wasn't the most hard working at training but was so much talented that he could actually chose any skill on his playbook at any point in the game to dribble an opponent, pass the ball, score a goal while being effective and make people enjoy watching him. So this video got me nostalgic and thinking back to my youth and remembering when and how I first fell in love with the game. The name I will throw out is probably not on the same vaulted pedestal as some of the most celebrated icons in the history of the game and I concede that there were others (like Ronaldinho) who had a more complete and extraordinary repertoire from a pure skill perspective, but I was mesmerized by Arsenal legend Thierry Henry in the mid-2000’s. I remember as an angsty middle schooler, coming home after school and there was this one highlight mixtape about 8 or 9 minutes long with music, that I would probably watch and listen to 10 times in a row on repeat and marvel at the skill. I’m not even sure how I happened upon it, but it was how I really started to fall in love with the game and take it up in earnest for awhile. I’m not sure if that mixtape still exists and even if it does, I’m sure the video quality would be pretty jarring compared to modern standards, but he was skilled and entertaining to watch for sure. I’d be interested to see someone with a background and love for the game react to his highlights and hear their analysis. I’d say if he had one “superpower” on the pitch (and the true legends usually have a few of them), but for him, I think it was his balance that was on par with anyone’s. He just moved so gracefully and was relatively tall, lanky, strong, and had such tremendous balance through and around contact. Watching some of his individual runs and how he would take on defenders when he was in his “flow state” with that balance and speed, something about it just looked so self-assured and “cool” to me, especially as an angsty, awkward, and unsure middle schooler. Completely random thought, but thank you for your video which prompted this trip down memory lane for me. I’m not sure if you’ve seen or reacted to any of his videos before, but if you’re looking for more early-2000’s era footballers to react to, Thierry Henry was a personal favorite of mine.
He was a God when he was in his prime. He could dribble the ball without touching the ground more than any other player. That was while being blindfolded. He's been retired for years now. All his rivals respected him. To this day other sports legends still respect El gaucho. There's no one better than him. Maradona kissed Ronaldinho. I don't even like soccer and he made me like watching him play. Legendary.
I'm not a football fan at all, only watch the world and european cups but when I think of football I immediately think of Ronaldinho. Fun to watch except when he was playing against your team.

Mas eu concordo que o futebol entrou numa ressaca depois do Ronaldinho, não por culpa dele, mas ele foi o ápice, o maior showman depois de Pelé, e coincide com o ápice de popularidade do futebol, quando atingiu os maiores níveis de audiência. Depois disso o futebol entrou em um declinio gradual, ainda é o maior esporte, mas já da pra perceber claramente que não é a mesma coisa, esgotou a fonte de inspiração e o talento individual sucumbiu numa era de tática coletiva. Na minha experiência eu lembro que todo mundo falava do homem, todo mundo parava pra ver ele jogar no Barcelona, até quem não gostava de futebol, era certeza de espetáculo, eu nunca vi um time e um jogador tão badalados globalmente, nem Messi e CR7, que construiram carreiras maiores e mais dominantes, também conseguiram ser personalidades além o futebol, mas não atrairam tanta atenção do mundo apenas pela arte do futebol como o Ronaldinho fez naquele momento. Eu acho que foi um fenômeno irrepetível, o cara certo, no lugar certo e na hora certa.

For some reason, I felt overwhelmed with emotion watching this, all the memories of watching Ronaldinho as a kid flooding back to me. It was such a joy to watch Ronaldinho in his prime. He was one of the players that made me fall in love with football, the way he plays really epitomizes "the beautiful game".
The thing that always gets me about Ronaldhino ... I coach HS soccer in the US; I can pull of some of those moves against my players when we run scrimmages. But if I play against other players my age/skill level I can no longer make folks look stupid consistently. Ronaldhino ... he pulled off these training ground tricks and stunts against La Liga and other top-flight players every single game! And even thought they absolutely had to know what was coming, they could do nothing about it. He was the epitomy of awe-inspiring.

I think this Ronaldinho video its not the best to show how good he actually was, lots of camera shots were from too close to show all his skills, but he was way more than just skills. Speed, power, vision, IQ, unmatched ball control... pure magician, he had it all.

People who don't play soccer do not realize just how insanely hard it is to keep the ball under such tight control at those levels of speed.
Just look how close he is able to keep the ball so close to his body when most people would push the ball several meters ahead of themselves when moving at those speeds, he manages to keep the speed going and still keep the ball within a meter.
That is just so hard to do.
And the fast elastico trick he does is just insane.

In his prime, Barcelona and to some extent Milan, he was out of this world. You can name just about every player ever in history and say "there will be someone like him, eventually".... I can say without any doubt in my mind that there will never be ANYONE like Ronaldinho, ever.

Like most world class players, they played a decent chunk of their professional careers in VERY good teams, playing other VERY good teams. I've seen a number of American reacts to football legends videos. I love them because I can see the reaction of people discovering first hand why we love our sports. It's even better with you because I can see you actually understand and appreciate how crazy this guy is.
To give you a little bit of context this guy wasn't the most hard working at training but was so much talented that he could actually chose any skill on his playbook at any point in the game to dribble an opponent, pass the ball, score a goal while being effective and make people enjoy watching him.
On a derby game between the two most successflul clubs in the world with a hatsh rivalry, he got a standing ovation from the opposite crowd (Real Madrid) after he scored his third goal.😂

It doesnt matter where youre from or what team you support, if youre truly honest with yourself you just know ronaldinho was the best of his era , if not the best ever.
I remember in 2013 my team was not doing well in the competition and they simply scored two free kicks in the same match, tying the game 2-2.
So this video got me nostalgic and thinking back to my youth and remembering when and how I first fell in love with the game. The name I will throw out is probably not on the same vaulted pedestal as some of the most celebrated icons in the history of the game and I concede that there were others (like Ronaldinho) who had a more complete and extraordinary repertoire from a pure skill perspective, but I was mesmerized by Arsenal legend Thierry Henry in the mid-2000’s.
I remember as an angsty middle schooler, coming home after school and there was this one highlight mixtape about 8 or 9 minutes long with music, that I would probably watch and listen to 10 times in a row on repeat and marvel at the skill. I’m not even sure how I happened upon it, but it was how I really started to fall in love with the game and take it up in earnest for awhile. I’m not sure if that mixtape still exists and even if it does, I’m sure the video quality would be pretty jarring compared to modern standards, but he was skilled and entertaining to watch for sure.
I’d be interested to see someone with a background and love for the game react to his highlights and hear their analysis. I’d say if he had one “superpower” on the pitch (and the true legends usually have a few of them), but for him, I think it was his balance that was on par with anyone’s. He just moved so gracefully and was relatively tall, lanky, strong, and had such tremendous balance through and around contact. Watching some of his individual runs and how he would take on defenders when he was in his “flow state” with that balance and speed, something about it just looked so self-assured and “cool” to me, especially as an angsty, awkward, and unsure middle schooler.
Completely random thought, but thank you for your video which prompted this trip down memory lane for me. I’m not sure if you’ve seen or reacted to any of his videos before, but if you’re looking for more early-2000’s era footballers to react to, Thierry Henry was a personal favorite of mine.

He was a God when he was in his prime. He could dribble the ball without touching the ground more than any other player. That was while being blindfolded. He's been retired for years now. All his rivals respected him. To this day other sports legends still respect El gaucho. There's no one better than him. Maradona kissed Ronaldinho. I don't even like soccer and he made me like watching him play. Legendary.
I'm not a football fan at all, only watch the world and european cups but when I think of football I immediately think of Ronaldinho. Fun to watch except when he was playing against your team.
