On June 3, 1997, Roberto Carlos stunned the world with one of the most spectacular free kicks in football history, which appeared to defy the laws of physics in the process. In that game Brazil vs France, from a 35 m free kick Roberto Carlos kicked the ball in such manner that made the ball first going off in one direction and then magically curling towards the goal. How did that happen? The answer is that the ball was spinning in the air and was subjected to the Magnus force.
Their 2003/04 season was a failure. They had better and far more successful teams before and after this period.

Amazing player! Brazilian. He played long time in Real Madrid. His strong kicks are legendary! Not to mention the curves he could put into the ball. AND He was a defender kkkkk this is the best part. he played left side back. His speed was insane. His kicks easily got 100 Km/h 120km/h and so on...The god of left foot. A monster in Real Madrid and in Brazil National team , with R9, R. Gaúcho and others... Good times! That kick against France is (for real) studied yet by phisicians and mathematicians. R. Carlos was the rocket man in football. Brazil was the dream team at that time.

he and cafu were the ultimate wingbacks. brilliant defenders, amazing attackers and about as fast as you can get. they would literally just run end to end the entire match out pacing everybody. it was incredible.

Too bad that one of his best goals seems to always get copyrighted, where he basically shoots a powerful curving shot near the goal line while sprinting, taking the goalie completely by surprise. Love his power shots!

The reason those R Madrid set plays are so confusing is the number 10 there, Luís Figo is just as lethal with his right foot as Roberto with his left. The defense has to leave one side open.
Curiously, the guy that preceded Roberto Carlos as left fullback for Brazil was another human cannon. He was called Branco.
Ye that curve he got on some of his shots is great..
Ppl might think its just raw power..but its technique ..
To get that curve you have to strike the ball with the outside of your feet and at a specific angle..
And the more power you put..the more it bends..
His greatest technique was kerping his shots so low..its very hard to keep shots with power down low..the more power you put in a shot the more the ball raises..it shows he had brilliant technique when striking the ball..
But Carlos is basically the best left back in the world..he redefined the position by showing that left back defenders can be attacking forces while also being great defenders

Best power shooter in football history. Nothing came even close ever since
I remember seeing live the goal against France with the incredible free kick. What a shame the clip dont show the reaction of Fabien Barthez who is stunned. And Real Madrid at this time had the 3 best free kick player of world with Zidane, Figo and him. Roberto Carlo was also one of the first typical modern wing defender (fast technique scoring goals, participate to attack) but was a weak defender.

Hopefully you will react to (at least for me) the best 2 strikers i saw in my lifetime: Ronaldo Nazario and Gabriel Batistuta.They just played together once in a single exhibition match, and in that match they destroyed the best players of Europe.
Not to mention the adversities they had to surpass due to physical pain and injuries! They are both fine examples of perseverance and skill!
