I've always wondered why the up Stamford isn't electrified and at the odd 3 + 2 track layout. To me it would have made sense to add a fourth track to the mainline when they were building the dive-under. Nice video by the way and informative too!
Thanks very much. Not a lot of point electrifying the Up Stamford as it would only be a short section from Helpston Junction to Peterborough and mean any electric traction would have to cross over the ECML lines and then back over again for just a handful of miles.
Thanks Darren. At least there was a method of keeping the trains running. Also, it was interesting to see EMR running pairs of 158s to and from Norwich - is that now 'standard'?
I presume the pairing of 158s was because the Hope Valley was closed for engineering works, so the services only ran between Sheffield and Norwich instead of the usual Liverpool to Norwich with the units splitting at Nottingham.
No worries, all feedback is welcome. I thought I'd do commentary on this one as there was a lot to explain - next two movies will have captions. Thanks.
I don't have a decent mic for adding voice recording on post-production, and actually it was too loud and distorted the first time I tried. This was something I was testing out rather than my usual captions. Maybe actually have some videos and do some commentary on them yourself first though before complaining about others.
Great railway video as always Darren.
Thank you very much. Bit of a long one this time, but had to be to show what happened.
@@MrDeltic15 Glad to watch it nonetheless.

Great video footage as always, but I do prefer the non commentary versions. Sorry.

@MrDeltic15 It's nothing personal. I just prefer titles rather than commentary. Look forward to the next video
