Thank you, I’m just glad I managed to find information on some of layouts otherwise o would have really struggled with some of the layouts. Thanks for watching.
No problem I’m a Lego builder myself and have had a go at a few engines in the past (was particularly pleased with my class 68) and although I’ve yet to get to your level of detail I know how much time and effort these models take so certainly deserve attention and praise. My boy was disappointed he didn’t come to the show and missed your layout as he loves what you do he watches one of your members (I assume they are as I’m certain I’ve seen that terrier on RUclips before) and is always really inspired, so much so I’ve had to order extra train parts for him. Out of curiosity how many studs wide do you build your engines, I tend to go with 6 but it feels too restrictive and your models look a little wider.
@@WesternSignalman There is! I love seeing this grand looking older pre-grouping locos that aren’t available in the ready to run market in model form. Knowing that they are all kit or completely scratch built is mind blowing to me. I wish I had the skill to do something like it myself
Glad you made this lovely video on the London show, so much I missed. I speciale came over from Belgium to see this show, and don't regret it, much to see and for sale, in an overcrowded haven of model trains. Spend the hole day there, super tired at the end and still saw only a glimpse of what was on offer. Met a few people who I have become good friends with over the years, in short a super day for the model railway fans.
Excellent video. Some great layouts on show. Nice commentary . Really enjoyed it. I was surprised by the number of scales (gauges) on display. Watching from Niagara Falls, Canada there were several I'd never heard of. Many thanks. New sub here.
Thanks for the sub. Yes oo gauge has some many different finescale variants I’m still not entirely sure what the difference between p4 and em actually is 😆
I might well have bumped into you at the London Festival of Railway Modelling yesterday!! Wonderful show, wasn’t it?!! I spent just under a thousand quid on trains!!
There was a few faces I recognised at the show yesterday such as underground Eric, dawn quest and think I spotted that model railway guy in the crowds too. Wow I thought I’d been excessive with my £60 of electronics 🤣but I’ve had a few preorders all turn up at the same time so had to behave.
Great video - and I do appreciate your commentary - makes all the difference compared to other 'mute' videos of layouts in action - its great to learn by listening about some facts relating to the layout on screen
I so agree with you, which is why these days I seldom watch 'Club' videos; the background chatter is so off putting, unlike this video with some very decent and informative commentary. The guy obviously knows his railways and their stock. Each layout has its own story, so it is really nice, for once, to hear them! Well done. Eric.
Excellent...couldn't get there myself but you've def provided the next best thing! 🙂 Love the commentary btw! As a railway modeller & a musician I guess the music you've used is loyalty free RUclips stuff...any chance of a list plz? There's a couple of piano pieces that I'd love to learn!❤Many thanks.
@@WesternSignalman Much appreciated thank you! BTW...Like you I LOVE that Southern O gauge locomotive...I have a small end to end O gauge layout....but I'm trying to be good and not spend too much! Ellis Clark trains Black 5 has my attention though!
@davidjohan99 I’ve always admired o gauge but that rebuilt buillled is the most tempted I’ve been towards o gauge, I’m sure once I check the price I’ll stick with OO 😆 must agree that black 5 looks stunning
If you’re wondering what I have as a layout, at the moment I’m using the digital layout at the Hoddesdon Model and Railway Club. My Dad’s Army layout is in my son’s hands because he’s working on it and some of my locomotives. I’m using 98% Southern Railway steam locomotives.
The first (Lego) layout was impressive. Lego block landscaping must take ages compared with the newspaper/chicken wire/plaster type methods! |Not a ggod weekend for half of LUL to be missing in action, BTW. At least you didn't have to go round the M25 😞!
I help my car club’s Chairman by running his Lego layout. It’s an American look airport layout. The Whitewebbs Museum of Transport has a Model Railway Saturday in July for the first time this year!!
If i had space id model one of the other stations on the fairford branch, brize norton or eynsham, witney being the ultimate of course, and i know its a model but according to some sources 14xx didnt go far along the branch because of their lack of water capacity, although there is a picture of a 14xx in fairford itself
I can understand you wanting to do that it is a very charming line to model. My friend is looking at doing yarnton junction. I think I’ve seen that photo but I had no idea they didn’t go that far on the branch.
I’ve been called a lot of things but as far as I’m aware not that 😂 although I did look grumpy at this show as I had got up very early to get there and I don’t do early
@@WesternSignalman No it isn't. There is no English spelling of Llawryglyn. As a university Welsh tutor of 22 years standing, this is my speciality, unless you can find the word 'gln' in the Geiriadur Prifysgol Cymru. Some respect for our language is required here.
Yes, please do keep up the commentary, it is both informative and professionally delivered. Nothing worse than watching a channel post an exhibition video where all you can hear is the back ground murmur. Thank you for taking the time to record, edit and post. It is appreciated.
Thanks for the nice pictures and the comments to it.
No problem
Great video and commentary - thank you
No problem glad you enjoyed it
Very nice video. I enjoyed the informative commentary and the steady photography. And a nice selection of layouts

Just been catching up with a few of your exhibition videos, love the commentary mate!

Thanks, there’s a fair few for you to get through mind 😆
@@WesternSignalman oh yes! Between them and MRRP it's gonna be a while before I catch up 🤣
Nicely done, excellent lego design,,overall designs and detailed work wonderful,,thanks for sharing,,😊
Those Lego designs are incredible certainly deserve more recognition

There’s something charming about pre-grouping layouts isn’t there.

As a Australian modeller can you please tell me what p4 and em gauge is??
They are fine scale versions of oo Gauge where the track is built to the correct width rather than the standard HO gauge track
@@WesternSignalman oh thank you for that, that actually helps a lot. Do you think you’ll ever go back to a narrow gauge or even try on30?
I still have the oo9 it’s stored away whilst I build my oo layout. I do have an idea for a new narrow gauge layout in the future
Delightful!
Thank you

@plabarba oh I see 😆 I’m gonna have to listen for that next time I watch one of their videos
It would seem that I didn't miss much.
Bit flat this year I felt and was a lot of effort to get there.
Spelling of Llawryglyn.
That’s the English spelling

I put Lego in there what more do you want and everyone knows Ken Bruce was the DJ propping up radio 2
