I was at the local golf shop and I hit the 5 and 7 irons from the T200's. oooooooooooo.... I planned right then to get a set. And now, I have my eyes on a used set. Soon. Yes, soon.

Had a fitting today. I currently hit old Titliest DCI's. Went into GolfTec open to all brands. After my swing was analyzed, came down to the T200, Mizuno 225 pro, and Callaway Apex. Oh my, the T200's are absolute butter. The other two clubs were nice and had a great feel. Would have loved either had I not hit the T200. After the fitting he asked if I was interested in buying them. Before he finished the sentence I had my credit card out. 4-6 weeks they will be in and I can't wait to hit them on the course.

Are these more forgiving than p790s?

Hard to compare the 790's to the T200's ... not really for the same player. A better comparison would be 790's vs T300's

They would be more similar to the p770s which are also great btw!

    He doesn't care.
    I don't either.
We want forged iron. Just a beautiful hunk of high quality steel. You feel your shot, you get feedback. You get better.

Yeah but he can actually use MB’s and shoot a 65. You use them and get more “feel” and shoot a 95. You’d play better with these. Like Max said in the video, for you it’s just an ego thing.

The main issue with any iron is that you want it to go the exact distance when you thin it, toe it, maybe chunk it. You don’t want it to ballon in a head wind or flyer in a tail wind and you definitely don’t want it flying the green. It also has to not fight your release I.e. I have hit many heel toe weighted irons over the years vs blades. The blades never fight your release and you can more accurately curve the flight. However that have zero forgiveness. I would be concerned these act just like a bomb driver

That’s why most pros only play mixed sets! I have these in 4 and 5 only, I also have a 3,505 driving iron, and 6-PW in t100s. I just recently switched from 3-PW in titleist 714MB after 8 years with them! I love blades but with longer irons it just makes sense to have them a little more forgiving. Just look in the current pros bag.

I have 200 in 4 iron and 100 in the rest. Not looking to shape my 4 iron at all (other than my natural shape of course) so that isn't a concern (plus you can easily shape these irons imo). What you should be looking to do in a 4 iron is simply hit it as solid as possible and high enough to hold a green. If you have a 4 iron in you obviously aren't pin hunting, or even expecting to hit the green most of the time. Most ams don't hit their 4 iron on the sweetspot or even close to the sweetspot the majority of the time. The 200 flies a consistent distance on mishits and gets high enough to hold any green.
But don't take my word for it, Cam Young, who is of course an utter flusher, games the 200 in his 4 iron as well.
