    When you get a good quality chicken like this, butcher it and make 1 pint of stock from the carcass. Reduce it down to around 30% and add it to your curry in small amounts over the cooking process. This way, you keep all of the flavour, and it leaves the meat super tender as well as cooking the potatoes and reducing the need for salt.

    Another question - no tomatoes were added?? Is that standard for a Bangladeshi authentic dish? Usually in indian curries, we are adding in a mix of tomato puree ( that can be cooked as a separate mix and then stored in the fridge with oil to preserve it) and either fresh tomatoes added to a dish being cooked or another can of chopped tomatoes.

    • @shortstube34
      @shortstube34 5 месяцев назад

      In Bangladesh, we do both with and without tomatoes. Usually we like to use fresh tomatoes and to get the fresh tomatoes, we have to wait for winter when it's the tomato season. Other than that, we cook it without tomatoes.

    Can you imagine how many people squirm at the eggs in the carcass (its natural!! - well unless a cock bird!!) , yet all of these people eat hyper processed foods of terrible origins. I think the slaughter of the chicken should be shown for facts about the food we eat.
    Rant over!

    Salam my brother. I pray that you are doing well. I presume you are aware of what is going on in Palestine. In light of this, I was hoping I could make a request of you. I am somewhat aware of the problems that would potentially arise if you were to directly address the Palestinian issue, so I will not ask this of you. However, I was hoping if you could bring awareness to the issue indirectly whilst staying true to your roots as a food reviewer. What I am suggesting is, can you take some time out of your schedule and cook a Palestinian dish? Maybe something like Maqlubeh or Mansaf?
    Abu Sa’id al-Khudri reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever among you sees evil, let him change it with his hand. If he cannot do so, then with his tongue. If he cannot do so, then with his heart, which is the weakest level of faith.”
    May Allah grant you and me guidance and may he grant us all Jannat-ul Firdous. Ameen.

    I thought showing the child holding the chiicken about to kill it was gratuitous and disgusting. The chicken was clearly in great distress. It reminded me of the Jihadi John videos. I avoid Halal meat when it is not served up by stealth because i feel it is a sadistic and inhumane way of killing animals.
