Not really a plan, BUT my husband graduates from his pediatric nurse practioner program in August from Vanderbilt and we're so excited!!! He has worked so so hard over the past 3 years and to see him finally finish is just so incredibly exciting! I am beyond proud of him and I cant wait to celebrate this big accomplishment in his life.
EDIT: oh gosh! Thank you for all the likes and sweet comments of congratulations! That is seriously so sweet and makes us feel so supported 🤧 these videos on both of Rachel's channel have been a source of comfort for me during this season of life. We moved across the country with our young daughter to make this all happen so even just to get a little extra support and congrats just means so much it's been a journey and I'm truly just so proud of my husband he's worked so hard and remained such a wonderful and present husband and father while being in school full time and doing clinical hours. Again thank you guys this community has always made me feel so supported through so many seasons of my life over the past 12 years! Love you all, Rach really brings people together 🩵

For the book nook I have two suggestions. 1) A lot of people buy fairy lights with a switch and use that instead of the provided light kits. 2) if you like the placement of the items. superglue them to the floor/walls.

My daughter has a couple of those book nooks and one bigger set up and she loves them! She’s 15 and she’s always been into legos so they were a level up for her. They absolutely took longer than an hour for her to build. More like 8 hours lol. But it gave her something to do and they would be great for keeping busy in the summer. So far we haven’t had any issues with the electrical part

You have an awesome profile for hair clips. I love them because I feel like you can make it look like you care even when you just ran out the door. But you can also grab a clip when you’re trying to be dressy and want a simple updo. I work with high schoolers who are up with all of the trends, and they just toss their hair up haphazardly with them. So there’s no wrong way. It’s a 90s/00s trend that I’m super happy came back.

Congratulations! What a great birthday! She will get Christmas stuff in December and summer stuff for her birthday. But do plan to do her friend birthday party in May when they’re still in school. That way her friends will be in town. I know this because my daughter is June 6th. Learn from my experience.
I always chuckle when I see the 21st too because when I was pregnant with my son (#2 child), we joked that there was something in the water at school. One of our English Second Language (ESL) teachers had her son on March 21. Then one of the 2nd grade teachers had her daughter on June 21. My son came on September 21. The kindergarten teacher broke the pattern when her son came on December 14th.
We’d been teasing our principal when Heidi was about to pop in June that someone was going to get pregnant and come on Henry’s 1st birthday. She told us not to even joke about that. Henry turned 25 in March, Emily will turn 25 on your daughter’s due date, then Kris will turn 25 in September and William in December. It’s hard to believe the Saturn babies (name of our school) are all grown up now.

I have made one of the book nooks (have 2 more sets) and I have one tip for you on the electrical piece: I didn't realize that you had to click the little "power on" button on the front of the book nook to actually turn the light on for far too long. I also thought I messed up the lighting because it wasn't lighting up when I switched the battery pack on. Just in case you also missed the little power on button like I did! (Also, I listened to an entire audio book while assembling mine... they take time but are fun if you like detail-oriented crafts)

This argument that k beauty has limited shades always annoys me, because the demographic has a light skin tone. Their main market is Korea so they’re not obligated to make shades that suit western countries or other countries in general.

Yeah but in Asian countries people put whiteness on a pedestal, so even those of us with like a more Siena and Honey skin tone (veryyy Korean skin tones btw) get white cast or makeup that look like it was not made to show the natural beauty of skin, but to white wash people into a certain beauty standard.

I got my bridesmaid dress for my brother's wedding from JJ's house. They offer try-on dresses for a small fee, which was great because I wanted to try several before deciding on what I ended up getting. They also offer custom sizing, which is what I ended up doing since I fell between sizes and am very short, only 5'1 and my dress was perfect and I was able to avoid any additional tailoring, which is almost unheard of for me. They have TONS of options and you can search by fabric and color so you don't fall in love with a dress that doesn't come how you need it. I was extremely skeptical about the company but all 6 bridesmaids got different dresses from there and everyone looked amazing.

Korean foundations are notorious for having a very narrow shade range. If the brand is intended for international export, then they definitely should be invested in expanding their shade range. If not, and this is not saying that we Koreans aren’t also looking for more shades that match our skin tones better, the shade range isn’t necessarily “embarrassing.” Why should Korean makeup brands make more than 5 or so shades (this is more the average now) when that covers the majority of the local population in Korea?
*Note that roadshop foundation shades are usually much fewer than department store luxury brands. Department store brands have historically had more options (not significantly so, but still more). Roadshops are basically like drugstore brands, and Clio is one of them.

I built the exact same booknook by Rolife a few months ago and have 3 more to build (I have a 22-month old so it's difficult to find the time). It was easy (but tedious) and fun!! Mine didnt come with glue so I bought it separately from Amazon. The lights work for me but are finicky. You have to make sure the switch on the battery pack is on. Then the power button on the front will work. I think you're doing a great job with it!!! It looks beautiful! 🎉❤

My me time is my crafting or painting❤ i love book nooks to and dioramas i made my young adult children some this past christmas. One likes mushrooms so hers was a mushroom wonderland and my son likes the outdoors and so his was a valley that had a rock cliff of stairs leading up to a tiny log house with a waterfall flowing down to the valley they were happy with them so it made me happy. I always try to make them something so that when im no longer in this world they have a keepsake made by me or thats what i hope they do anyways..lol thanks for the video upload i enjoyed watching as always

I would definitely do a half-up/half-down look with the bow clip. Maybe in a fun color so it stands out more, if they make them in other colors.
Also, I have been fully converted to metal hair clips. They do not break much at all. I think the spring of one of mine gave out after like 2 years of continuous use and I have used a different one for about that long now with no issues.

My son graduated high school 2 weeks ago. Going back home to celebrate him with our family and friends.
Last week I got a puppy! My last dog passed of cancer 8 months. While I’ve been heartbroken,I also don’t like not having a dog.
Early September I’m having surgery to fix issues after a partial skull base tumor was removed. I’m very excited to get this done. It’s been a long 2 years waiting for swelling to go down to see how bad my ear and face would be. Before we schedule this one.

My daughter just did that exact same booknook project and so far she has not been able to get the lights to work on hers either. She said she would bring it over to have me take a look at it, but now I am wondering if it isn't just some design flaw in the kits. But she loved putting it together and it looked really cute from the pictures she sent me.

I got the Shakespeare book nook kit by the same brand for Christmas. It took me maybe 6 hours to complete, and I really like it. Generally, the pieces fit together, and the kit helpfully included glue dots that helped keep t things from falling off shelves when I had to move it, but I did have to find a RUclips video to help with the electronics.

RACHEL YOU NEED TO TRY THE CHARLOTTE TILBURY BEAUTY LIGHT WAND HIGHLIGHTER IN SPOTLIGHT! We wear the same shade foundation and this compliments me amazingly however they have lots of colors. I use it on bare skin and blend it for a natural glow just like “ooh she has nice glowy skin and amazing skincare” sort of look but it’s buildable for sure! Tried it again today with foundation under and it still blended beautifully. Would love to know if you love it as much as me!

But, I'm planning to take advantage of fun local happenings and be more intentional about reading library books.

Girl. You can rock any hair accessory!! You look GORGEOUS dahling in those clips! I do have to say that those twisty shirts are hideous imho. I do not like. lol. Those bookends are a big pita. I tend to watch several Canadian RUclipsrs (Mia Maples is another favorite) but I think HopeScope put one of these together (maybe/??) and she said it was much more time consuming than it looks as well. LOVE your channels!!!!
