Italo Ferreira Goes Mental - Surfing Highlights from 2022 WSL Rip Curl Finals at Lowers Trestles

Italo Ferreira best surfing highlights from the WSL Rip Curl Finals at Lowers Trestles in Sept 2022. Italo entered the finals that morning ranked #4 in his heat against Kanoa Igarashi. Italo then had to fight his way surfing in heats against Ethan Ewing #3 and Jack Robinson #2 in hard fought battles. Italo made it to the finals to surf against the #1 seated Filipe Toledo. The match between Italo and Filipe was one for the record books. Both surfers hailing from Brazil and rivals put on an incredible show for the thousands of fans on the beach. In the end, Filipe took the win and won his first world title and Italo took 2nd place.

I'm a big Italo fan, and Felipe Toledo definitely had the best overall season in 2022.
But man, if Italo had rested before he faced Felipe in the finals (he did 5 straight heats), I think he would have won it.

Yeah by the time he reached the finals he had already surfed so much that day. That is such a huge factor. He was surfing incredible. Some of those airs to maneuver combos were incredible. Lets see what happens in Bells Beach.
