I really miss this channel. I wish he would start back up.
Just checking in. Hoping to see Smokey and new videos. Miss ya!
I can't wait to see your new shop. You must be building a monster as it is taking way too long! We miss you. Hope you'all are healthy and happy.
Hi Smokey . Been a while . Good to see you back. Since you advised me to video my build I have had a time. Contracting signs etc.
Let me tell you about my lateral move . I am now a high school shop teacher ! My build and other photos of projects got me the job.
I was dumbstruck when the vice principal enthusiastically asked me to take the job and she called me highly creative . I am not a teacher but got a special letter from the ministry of education permission. I teach 8 through 12 woodwork and even a computer codeing class.
I came out of retirement (69) . My takeaway is keep the faith . Working alone is worth every moment when you are really working on yourself.
Seems to me that men of our age (pardon my presumption) have so much to give and it is needed even beyond mere skills but for our experience.
Hope all is well Brian.
Hope all is well with you. Have been thinking thar I hadn't seen any new videos. Just making sure all is good. My grandson is going to college and is using CNC machines and loves it. He's doing precision machinest. So I've been watching your videos again and showing grandson your set up.
Just checking in to see how you're doing. Hope all is well.
Glad to see you are back
Thank you! I'm ready to get back to a shop!!
Yes you can put about half a gallon of antifreeze in with 3 gallons of distilled water. Also, the motherboard/card in it is a nima card(limited) junk in my opinion. I put a cohesion3d card in mine and use lightburn. Also buy and install a milliamp gauge to know how much power that you are using. Never go over 20 milliamps. Youll be able to cut thin plywood and burn photos. There are tons of videos out there just google K40 co2 laser. Good luck
Ok thanks!! great info I'll look up the laser and check it out, thanks for watching!!
where you at bro, would love to see you back and your work.
Hello Smokey,
Hope life is well and that shop is coming back on-line? I'm like you though I'm still building my setup based off yours, but added the 5 inches in width for full 48x48 and added capabilities to do 3d work on front and back anchor system still only exists in my mind. Give us a 3-minute video update on what you've been up to. Back to the 200 man-hours to get this thing built. About 300 holes to drill still, haha
Dang, I was last post 9 months ago. I hope you and your family are ok. Miss your cnc videos. Hope to see new content again.
Any updates? Hope you and the family are ok. It's been a year, we miss your content.
Glad to see ya back. Don't know anything about the laser set up. But will be waiting for you to get back into business.
I'm ready to be back up and running, going crazy without anything to do!!
Good to see you back hopefully
Your shop build will start before May
I like your confidence, I'm hoping it will come in early, I'm ready to have my playhouse back!!!
hope to see ya making videos soon.
Brian! Glad to see you back. I thought of you recently and hoped you were OK. Turns out you’re doing great. Looking forward to seeing your new shop
You and me both, the shop can't get here soon enough!! ...I'm ready to get everything back up and running!!!
Yo Smokey! It's been a bit, what are you up to? Hope all is well in your neck of the woods!
Great to see you online again. Was thinking how you were doing last week. For the CNC spindle water cooling. You can get an antifreeze with inhibitors to stop corroding metals in contact. Eg furring up aluminium, copper greening. Etc
Have fun with the laser, it's just a smaller CNC, few different cutting/carving concepts, but works same process. Enough to keep you occupied for the duration. Stay safe, stay healthy too !
Yes the process is the same, I just don't want to jump off and find out I've made a mistake with antifreeze....All in all i'm just ready to get back to it, i'm goin nuts with nothing to do!!!! Thanks for watching!!
GOOD TO SEE YOU SMOKEY, YOU ARE LOOKING HEALTHY 😊😊😊😊😊
Thank you! I'm ready to get back to a shop!!
Nice yard and welcome back . A space is the biggest asset Still in the bedroom here just the cnc mill . Crazy how much you need other tools.
Well if they ever get started this thing will be bigger than the new house!!
I’m not familiar with the water pumping system. If it external, make a insulated box around it. Use a light bulb for a heat source. Put insulation on the lines, that should be enough to maintain above 32 degrees.
ewwww! a heat lamp would be a good idea!! could leave it running, good thought!!
Great to see you back Brian. Look forward to the new videos. I have my 80W Co2 laser in the garage but fortunately I dont deal with the temps you are in South Texas. If it does happen to get that cold I just dont run my laser. Good luck on the shop build.
I'm hoping it will start going up real soon, I'm ready to get back going!!
Good to see you back! I've been thinking about getting a K40 (Generic Term for that laser). I have heard they are okay at best out of the box. But seem to be easy to upgrade and lots of info on RUclips. In fact, there is a RUclipsr that goes by SarbarMultimedia. He has literally years of K40 laser tutorials. Everything from software to upgrading the hardware boards to upgrading to larger 50W CO2 lasers.
I've got a K40, and love this new Lightburn software, however I have ran into a problem with the smoke produced, this new house has a hi-tech security and fire alarm system...I can't get the laser to run without setting off the the alarm system...so I'm on hold for now
Yes you can use RV antifreeze in your laser
I was thinking Rv antifreeze because of its more diluted state..Thanks for watching!
You are welcome I really like your videos. I have got so many ideas from watching so I glad I could help have a good day
I read a lot where you can use rv antifreeze without issues and some use fishbtank heaters as well. I actually just disassembled mine and put it in the basement where freezing temps won't be an issue. I believe your machine looks like a k40 possibly.
Ok on this, I got contacted by a guy that worked with lasers for a job and he said absolutely no to antifreeze running through the system at all!!! so don't do it!!
Are you going to have a heated floor in the shop..? Pros n cons to it, but very nice on the toes..!!😉
No heated floor, Will have a shirt making room!!...Lol since we have downsized I am building a room/office for my wife to continue her shirt making biz....!!
Hey man, where are you? I hope you post soon.
Brian when are you coming back to youtube?
I thought I was behind, but it seems you’re probably getting close to construction now? Hopefully it’s working out.
Hey neighbor, looks like you moved down the street just a little ways from me! I hope you're getting a 3D printer. I love mine!
Thats the plan, not there yet, we are short on room at the moment. I thought I could fit one in but have put it off for a bit, because my wifes biz has taken the garage!
My first one sat on my bedroom dresser! My wife wasn't a fan. Haha
Hi Brian, how's your workshop build going? Are you missing relaxing time creating designs? Hope you're not overdoing any 3orks there !! Stay dafe
Ok I was a laser tech where I worked so no do not put anything in your water it will cause the high voltage to arc and burn up you connecters also don't use tap water others may say different but I worked on laser hole drilling machine I can give you my email address if you would like 25 years not these was 15kv lasers but the principals are the same denied water is what you need it makes you're lamps last longer hope this helps
I looked it up it stayed you could but I don't know I would try to find a place in house in about 3 weeks that want be a problem take care stay safe
Oh wow, Ok this helps, yes shoot your email this way, Smokeyscnc@gmail.com..sounds like you'll have tons of info!
any new material coming soon?
Brian, could it be a CNC plasma cutter?
It is not, look at some of the other comments and youll find the answer...coming soon
Hello mate
I'm from UK and I like what you're doing I was thinking to start doing same thing
Hello!...I will be back up and running before you know it, I'm having a shop built at the new house as we speak, hopefully, the materials have been delivered, but am still waiting on workers!
Is your e-mail address still the same.thanks love your work.
Getting 3d printer???
MMMMM.....LOL cant say!
