Can't get enough of this channel you guys. It's the closest I've found to a community that really discusses metal similar to how religious folks discuss their holy books and saints. I feel like watching yall is as close to creating an official "canon" or like a divinely inspired assessment of all metal music and how it ranks in value and how the newly converted shall be navigated into the "thralls of metal". 🤘 😎
Thanks for answering my question. Hearing Jammin Jon mispronounce (Gee-ah-lo) had me rolling! "Torso" and "Pieces" are tied for my favorite. I can't imagine RIN hasn't seen them. I'd love to hear a follow up one day. Stay metal brothers! 🤟
Necrotic Nick- Not a problem, man! We tend to butcher a lot of foreign pronunciations but it we have fun with it. Yeah, I need to dive into more of those flicks to get a feel for them. Thanks for the awesome questions and we'll definitely do something like this again in the future.
I see Miller wearing a Clutch hat on the left of the thumbnail! Speaking of Clutch, that band will be releasing a new album on September 16th [same weekend as Behemoth] entitled Sunrise on Slaughter Beach.
After I got back from winter break, I finally got back on my college radio show. A week later, after I played my 60s/70s garage rock/power pop special, my parents and I went out to Olive Garden, and she discussed how she loved my show! She loves my 60s music that I play! She told me that I should consider playing Depeche Mode and Duran Duran. I thought about and I was said that I was going to play them! I've been playing them a lot and I think that they are definitely one of the best 80s bands without a doubt! You're right about Depeche Mode! They are really talented musicians, and they are definitely not a guilty pleasure! I love them to death! 80s pop at its best! Violator, Black Celebration, and Music to the Masses are my top 3 albums from them!
Necrotic Nick- That 80's pop sound is still so infectious to me. We had amazing musicians playing pop rather than just bland, souless pop that I think is unfortunately the standard now.
Based on what I read in your comment, Takoda you should check out the band Deadsy. Their two albums: Commencement and Phantasmagore. Duran Duran heavy inspiration on tracks "Mansion World" and moreso on "She Likes Big Words".
Necrotic Nick- Dude, I put entirely too much thought into that ridiculous question lol. It was so much fun to answer though. Beware the interdimensional chickens! lol

I have a question. What is you guys' favorite metal mascot besides Eddie (Iron Maiden) Vic Rattlehead (Megadeth) and the Snaggletooth (Motorhead)? Aside from the above three, my favorite would probably be the Kreator Demon (Kreator).
Necrotic Nick- Man, that's a hard call honestly.I'd say Exhumed's "Dr. Filthy" has got to be up there for me. He's a killer part of the live show for sure lol.
There's a ton of album rankings I've been waiting for for a long time, but my top 5 album rankings you should do are Deicide, Dream Theater, Motorhead, Megadeth, and Sodom. Motorhead are my favorite metal band of all time. Deicide is up in my top 3 for death metal bands of all time, behind Death and Cannibal Corpse. And I know that Shedlord loves Dream Theater a lot. Megadeth is definitely my second favorite thrash band of all time, only behind Metallica. And Sodom is up in my top 5 for thrash metal as well. And my favorite from Germany.
Necrotic Nick- There's definitely a lot of discographies we want to touch on. We'll probably never be able to keep up with all the requests from everyone but there's definitely a few you've mentioned that I want to do.
John Longstreth is one of the most amazing extreme drummers out there. He makes everything look effortless. And there’s definitely room for Mortiferum and Hall & Oates. Love the non-guilty pleasures.
Necrotic Nick- Definitely one I would have mentioned if I had thought of it. Dude's a beast. I have no guilt for the music I love and honestly I don't think anyone should. If you love it, you love it.
Jon, I had a cat named Gizmo, too. And my oldest cat was named Ninja. My heart is with doggies too. I have an old little girl who has been with me my entire adult life and we'll always have dogs.
Necrotic Nick- Oddly enough my ma had a dog named Mogwai lol. He was an awesome Shi Tzu. I tend to connect with cats more. I like their independence but I do love dogs as well.
Could have a hard time selling these materializing chickens to witting participants, but I like where Miller is going with the business idea to go with it!
Really awesome to watch this episode 🤘just chillin back and watch you guys 👌 Got a question, if you guys ever could, what summer metal festival do you want to visit in Europe? Wacken, Hellfest etc etc?? Keep it up 🤘
Necrotic Nick- Man, that's a tough call. Hellfest almost seems too big but they're constantly loaded with bands.I really don't know because there's so many of them right now.
I grew up with rock on the radio. Started listening to Metallica and gnr. (Master of puppets was my first bought album) from there i found Pantera, Sepultura, and white zombie and I've been finding harder and harder music since
Thank you for answering my questions. Hell yes...Sleepaway Camp decimates. In The Mouth Of Madness kills too. Check out Halloween, Impaler, Lizzy Borden, Krank, etc. for some great heavy shock metal. Hopefully you guys review Post Mortem Superstar -Which Witch Wroughts ep soon. I think you'll be surprised. Keep the metal alive and Defy The Mundane! Toni Eckmund
Necrotic Nick- Dude, not a problem at all. This was a lot fun to do honestly. I love the first Sleepaway Camp but the sequels became a bit too self aware and kinda ruined but In the Mouth of Madness is killer. I'm only really familiar with Lizzy Borden out of that batch so I definitely have some to check out in the future. I didn't see a release date for Post Mortem Superstar so I don't know about that one but I may check it out. Thanks again, man!
Hearing Deicide's first album caught my interest in death metal but seeing Morbid Angel God of Emptiness on Bevis and Butthead we like hell yea I'm hooked lol
LD50 is great. First 3 Slipknot really good, then spotty. Never liked much of Coal Chamber, but was there a Dark Ages, or very black albim cover. I have ONE rap vinyl, the first NWA.
Necrotic Nick- Thanks, man! There's a couple of albums that I think are weaker but most of Overkill's output is killer. I'm definitely looking forward to album number 20 from them.
In my opinion, I'd love if you guys ranked the discography of Sodom, especially considering it is a lengthy (and divisive) one. Also maybe with Death, not as lengthy but still a great discography too. In any case, I love the channel, keep it up, I hope you rank some albums or bands soon! And maybe another iteration of album v album or band v band, cheers!
Necrotic Nick- Thanks, man! I'd love to rank Sodom sometime in the future. They have a pretty solid discography and Shred and I are big fans in particular. We've got some more stuff we want to do like this in the future for sure and there will definitely be more rankings in the future as well.
My stereo system in my music room which I really love and have been using it for 16 years now. My amp is 1000 watt. Harmon kardon with 2 - 3 way tower speakers with 12 inch. Woofers. They are CERWIN VEGA which are fuckin awesome! Speakers. And 2 - 3 way Sony with 6inch. Woofers book shelf speakers. That's my setup and it sounds amazing! and can really crank the Metal out. Verygood video guys love you all's channel here.🤘🍺
Necrotic Nick- Damn dude! That's a nice set up. I do love my Harmon Kardon but I've been thinking about upgrading to a nicer one. Most of my intense jamming is in my car. I love those Alpine 10's I have in the trunk. Thanks for checking out the video, man!
Nick I think its this video you mentioned Suffocations Terrence Hobbs and dude I was wondering does he play the guitar solos too? I'm sure you've seen them live.
Necrotic Nick- Both he and Charlie Errigo trade off on leads but I believe Terrance has always played leads in Suffocation. I've seen them at least 4 times and I know he was ripping some killer leads at all of those shows.
I still think pantera is the most aggressive band in history. Maybe early meshugga and mid era decapitated are close. Not the heaviest but the most aggressive and cutting.
1:01:40 I love in the mouth of madness. Sleep away camp also! Velocipastor is fantastic. Me and my brother rented that when it came out at like 3 in the morning and I loved it. Thanks killing I hated tho lol
Necrotic Nick- I think that one is one of John Carpenter's most underrated flicks. I'm a sucker for well done Lovecraftian horror and he nailed it with that one. I loved how ridiculous Thankskilling is. It reminds me so much of a Troma production and I love stuff like that.
@@thrallsofmetal I love troma and so bad they are good movies too. Thanks killing was a little too stupid for me. I loved the Velocipastor, Poultrygeist, and many more tho lol
Rise Against? The punk band? If that's true, awesome! I was just listening to them yesterday! Awesome band! Very consistent with releasing awesome albums!
I listened to a lot of heavy metal and progressive metal growing up, so things like Black Sabbath, Rush, Megadeth, Dream Theater, Queensryche, Savatage, and Metallica (there's way more). I got into Pantera and Sepultura later on. But, my intro to death metal Morbid Angel and Death. Before Illud, I have always thought David Vincent had the best death metal voice. It was always brutal but I could completely understand what he said. Pete Sandoval is still among my favorite drummers, and Trey Azagthoth is a great guitar player. Chuck Schuldiner also had a fantastic growl voice and was an excellent guitar player, and Death never wrote a bad album. Wish I can say that about Morbid Angel, but Illud was not great. Modern death metal I got into are Opeth and Nile. But I have such an eclectic taste in music, it's ridiculous. I like so many different styles of music from 80s pop and jazz fusion all the way to some of the most extreme bands.
Necrotic Nick- That's pretty close to my path. Actually, I still think David Vincent has one of the best death metal growls out there and Sandoval is still impressive as hell. He was on another level back in the 90's though. Trey and Chuck were probably the most influential guitarists in death metal in general when you break it down. I still hear their signature sound in a ton of bands now. It's always good to have a wide pallet that way you don't get burnt out on one thing. I need breaks from the brutality sometimes lol
Necrotic Nick- He decided to step down from Thralls. It really wasn't his thing and we totally get it. We're all still good friends though and he's doing well.
I'm looking for a (preferably) single guitar band that can groove with a singer that can sing. Any suggests for a mainstream guy like me that loves groovy songs with great singers like... Outshined-Soundgarden Bury Me In Smoke-Down Win Hands Down-Armored Saint
Necrotic Nick- My ma has 3 awesome dogs and one awesome cat. I just have my idiot cat which I love so I'm kinda in both camps but cats are easier to take care of and they're not as needy which I like.
Dude I saw morbid angel on that tour with pantera. That tour kicked ass and I've seen morbid angel a total of four times and got treys autograph and are you going to review the new clutch when it comes out ?
Necrotic Nick- That tour was pretty sick. That was my first time ever seeing Morbid Angel and it made a huge impression on us. Honestly, I've been a Clutch fan since I was in high school so there's a good chance we will review that one.
Yo dudes, at 10:56 you mention 'guile' horror film? Italian horror films from the early '80s? How do you spell the director's name? No matter how I spell it google won't pick up what I'm trying to type.
Necrotic Nick- I think we grossly mispronounced it. It's "Giallo" and that should help the searches. We found a ton of titles by that guy and his contemporaries.
Necrotic Nick- I think we're potentially pretty fucked either way here lol. Maybe aliens. There's a chance we could reason with them more. I'm pretty sure the animals have been nurturing a grudge for a long time against humanity lol.
Nick... iI would say if you started a cult I would join, but if you think about it you already did start a cult, kinda Wasn't expecting a conversation about sentient chickens but here we are 😂 I'm wondering that if the chicken materializes when you get out of the car, maybe it dematerializes once you kill it. I don't know, I'm not clear on the quantum mechanics of all that.
I'd probably pick Margot Robbie for the celebrity pick, because she likes Slipknot and I can't even imagine what a good time in bed with such background music would be \m/
Necrotic Nick- Margot Robbie is hotter than hell and she just seems like a cool chick in all her interviews. Definitely a plus that she likes some metal too.
Necrotic Nick- I'm definitely familiar with Puncture Wound. That's some sick old school death metal. I do need to check out Abramelin though. I saw it has members of Psycropic so I'm already interested.
Miller claimed acoustic Taylor Swift & Justin Bieber. Just wow. I think that’s a lil over the top there. Lmao. I really think he mayve just came out of the closet & I think it’s a wonderful thing!!!
Not a big Slayer fan either. Show no mercy to divine was awesome after that band became boring as fuck. Guitar is weak & thin, same boring riffs and shit solos.
Necrotic Nick- They definitely have some duds in their discography. I still really enjoy Christ Illusion thought. I think that one is pretty underrated.
Necrotic Nick- Yeah, it's not like that. He pretty much tells to "play in traffic", "drown myself" but the "get in the oven" thing isn't an Antisemitic thing at all. I'll just tell him to take that one off the list of things too say.
News flash. Nobody cares about you or you pathetic attempt at virtue signaling. Go stir shit up elsewhere and stop trying to label these guys as hate mongers.
Necrotic Nick- Then why did you bring it up? If you watched the video we deride bigotry, racism and homophobia so I'm wondering if you just missed that part or ignored it.
@@thrallsofmetal Because if you read my last comment, I said "it made me wonder". Racism exists everywhere and it's ok to ask or comment to make sure. A phrase like" Go get in the oven" sounds VERY antisemitic, so hence my comment. It's reasonable to point out, I think, and get an answer for. If you're offended by my first observation/comment, then I would ask you why? Better yet, ask that guy why he chose those words?

You've mentioned Ryn a few times during this episode. Don't want to be nosy, but Ryn has been MIA for a while now. I hope he is okay.
Necrotic Nick- He decided to step down from Thralls. It really wasn't his thing and we totally get it. We're all still good friends though and he's doing well.
Wow, I can't see Nick digging hip-hop
Anyone needs a chicken killer??!
I'm looking for a (preferably) single guitar band that can groove with a singer that can sing.
Any suggests for a mainstream guy like me that loves groovy songs with great singers like...
Outshined-Soundgarden
Bury Me In Smoke-Down
Win Hands Down-Armored Saint
Any chance of reviewing the new PANZERFAUST or NEBULA? Both should be pretty decent listens, that new KARL SANDERS looks interesting too!
Necrotic Nick- There's quite a few releases this week so I might have to cover some of them in a collection update in the future.
I'm saying both cats and dogs. I've always had both
Necrotic Nick- My ma has 3 awesome dogs and one awesome cat. I just have my idiot cat which I love so I'm kinda in both camps but cats are easier to take care of and they're not as needy which I like.
'Regular incantation'..... 😂
lol, apparently I've been mispronouncing Mortiferum this whole time. Damn it!
Necrotic Nick- Dude, we get it wrong so many damn times lol. They need an accent in their logo or something.
Hold up..are you guys near Cleveland? Or is there another Agora?
Necrotic Nick- We're actually all in the Toledo area so we're not far from Cleveland honestly.
@Thralls Of Metal Well if anyone ever makes it to the agora again..maybe see you there!
Dude I saw morbid angel on that tour with pantera. That tour kicked ass and I've seen morbid angel a total of four times and got treys autograph and are you going to review the new clutch when it comes out ?
Nah they only do metal.
Necrotic Nick- That tour was pretty sick. That was my first time ever seeing Morbid Angel and it made a huge impression on us. Honestly, I've been a Clutch fan since I was in high school so there's a good chance we will review that one.
bill burr is my favorite awesome answers and questions great video
Necrotic Nick- I love both Dave and Bill but man, I really get Bill these days lol
Someone fill me in about Inquisition? what happened there? must have missed the news.
Dagon, a founding member of the band, had child porn on his computer. And there is accusations of being Neo Nazi as well.
Got caught with 1 GB of CP on his computer.
Necrotic Nick- Yeah, I have no tolerance for that.
@@thrallsofmetal Me neither. 🤢🤮
This raised a great question should people separate art from the artist ?
Hey Jammin Jon how was your stroke on the only 3 albums question
Necrotic Nick- He said both sides of his face are numb now lol
@@thrallsofmetal lol
You guys rule
Yo dudes, at 10:56 you mention 'guile' horror film? Italian horror films from the early '80s? How do you spell the director's name? No matter how I spell it google won't pick up what I'm trying to type.
Necrotic Nick- I think we grossly mispronounced it. It's "Giallo" and that should help the searches. We found a ton of titles by that guy and his contemporaries.
The first static X
Necrotic Nick- As a big gateway album? I still love that album.
Part 2 ???
Necrotic Nick- Maybe. Everyone's kinda got different schedules these days.
@@thrallsofmetal either way, love the content, best metal show on the tube
Where has Rin been haven’t seen him in forever
awesome video
Necrotic Nick- Thanks, man!
The remake of the last house on the left is messed up
Necrotic Nick- I haven't seen it but I saw the OG one years ago and it was really fucked up as well.
I work at a car dealership I'm in alot of cars
Necrotic Nick- A solid sound system is always a good selling point for me.
MDF IS COMING BACK 2024!
Invaded by aliens or have all animals super evolve to kill us like in that will smith movie
Necrotic Nick- I think we're potentially pretty fucked either way here lol. Maybe aliens. There's a chance we could reason with them more. I'm pretty sure the animals have been nurturing a grudge for a long time against humanity lol.
Very valid point
Nick... iI would say if you started a cult I would join, but if you think about it you already did start a cult, kinda
Wasn't expecting a conversation about sentient chickens but here we are 😂 I'm wondering that if the chicken materializes when you get out of the car, maybe it dematerializes once you kill it.
Make a band featuring only dead musicians
Chuck Shouldiner
Dime
Cliff Burton
Joey Jordison
Necrotic Nick- That's a pretty sick line up. Gar from Megadeth might be my drummer but Joey's definitely in the mix for me.
abramelin are sick.you guys gotta give em a listen. puncture wound is another good aussie band to give a listen.
Necrotic Nick- Yeah, we all like our escapes from the brutality but we definitely different avenues we go down for them lol.
I'm surprised no one asked sexual questions lol 🤣🤣
Necrotic Nick- Oh, I'm sure we'll get some when we revisit this subject again in the future.
Judas Priest ranking?
Necrotic Nick- At some point we'll definitely do that one. We all love that band here.
I’m sorry for laughing at you guys but your reactions to those moves are funny I’m but yea there messed up
Necrotic Nick- I mean, this was intended to be somewhat funny so if you didn't laugh I'd think we did this wrong lol
beard and no mustache is not a strong look 🤣
The guy on the right talks too much and doesn’t know when to shut up.
What did the guy on the right mean by the "Go get in the oven" comment? More like Thralls of Hate...just saying....
@@thrallsofmetal I didn't think it was antisemitic, but it did make me wonder...
