    REGARDING SPOILERS:
    I should have been more clear on my spoiler policy in this video; the "no spoilers" tag is not entirely accurate. My apologies.
    This video contains some minor lore spoilers from throughout the Cosmere, but (in my opinion), this video contains nothing that will actively ruin the enjoyment of any book; the spoilers contained within are purely lore-based. If you are sensitive to spoilers, I would urge you to proceed with caution.
    That being said, I hope that you enjoy!

      @@jbwise2002 That reveal is a huge twist in the books that flips the head on everything we've learned to that point, so it is not a minor spoiler. Just because most of the viewers have already read up to that point doesn't make it okay to have spoilers in a so called "spoiler free" video.

      This video's title has been changed to reflect my thoughts on the matter, I've also added a pinned comment to better explain my spoiler policy. I don't necessarily agree that it's a large spoiler, but enough people feel affected by it for me to take action. Looking back, I should have made the spoiler policy more clear. Sorry to cause any confusion.

    There's something really inspiring about creators who make very high quality, high effort videos for a relatively smaller but dedicated viewer base. There's just something awesome about knowing that you make your stuff not just for money, but because you love to do it. Hopefully some day a TV or film series will drive a huge audience your way, but until then, please keep up the great work. I realize that this is probably really frustrating for you, but what I'm trying to say is that we recognize the work you put in and appreciate it.

      @@LoreoftheWorlds color, sound, and water are also things that have had connections with multiple magic systems. It's still unclear for the specific meaning of different colors (Navini did note about the different colors of gems at the same time she was talking about the metals) but ROW gets pretty deep into explaing sound and at least 2 systems have used water as a fuel source. Interestingly while silver isn't an allomantic metal it has been shown to kill things that otherwise have been hard to kill. There's different categories of invested beings so I'd guess it would effect anything of the same categories. Trying to stay vague to avoid spoilers I'll just say both of those things were microbes

    So far (and I feel like I've barely begun) Scadrial is my favorite. The ideals of balance (Harmony) and the progression of technology and society are what I find most fascinating, but also the (often combined and interacting) magic systems add levels of complexity that keep me rooted in the stories. Finally, the treatment of religion, both as an historical reference and institution, add just that extra bit of granularity to the planet, as well as an underlying theme.

      Was gonna say this, the human migration is like... one of the main twists of book 3

    • @LoreoftheWorlds
      @LoreoftheWorlds  2 года назад

      Spoilers Oathbringer:
      I would argue that though the migration is only fully revealed at the end of book 3, the real spoiler is moreso that it was the humans that brought odium over with them. Without the context of the greater odium/ original voidbringers reveal, the migration over is more or less just an interesting fact, and less so a spoiler. All this being said, i am open to hearing your personal opinion as to why this may be incorrect

    • @ahri3887
      @ahri3887 Год назад

      @@LoreoftheWorlds that's not how the book frames it at all. The characters are specifically shocked and dismayed by the human/voidbringer mix up, not the fact that they brought Odium. I don't really think that comes up very often.

  • @macmay3042
    @macmay3042 2 года назад

    One quick note... the moons of Roshar actually travel in hugely elliptical orbits. Basically, giant ovals, with Roshar way at one narrow end instead of in the middle. This explains how all three can cross the sky every night without sharing the space with the other two.
    Astrologically speaking this isn't a stable set up, but it'll be thousands of years before it starts to impact anything.
    You can see it on the star map that came with Arcanum Unbounded.
    Spren: There are also spren that respond to natural events, not just emotions. Rainspren, firespren.

    • @LoreoftheWorlds
      @LoreoftheWorlds  2 года назад +1

      I should have included this in the script, I can definitely agree agree with that. But it was much harder to animate that kind of orbit than originally thought, and by the time I realized that, it was too late to re-record that section.

      The Cosmere is the universe in which a lot of Brandon Sanderson's books are set in. The series can all be read without any cosmere knowledge but there are some small connections between the planets and magic systems. If you're interested I highly recommend all of Brandon's works! I suggest starting with Mistborn or Elantris if you want to dive into the Cosmere.
