Awakened Steelmind is probably their Computer. The Awakening allows it to perform computations, and the Stored Speed allows it to do them superfast.

This was actually my very first Cosmere novel. The only works I’ve read of Sanderson so far are the Wheel of Time stuff he finished for Jordan. I was very pleasantly surprised by The Sunlit Man. I was able to read and enjoy the story with no context at all. I noted the references to other stories, even without context, and they just whet my appetite for the larger story world rather than detracting from the book. I very much enjoyed it.

4:06 about this one. From chapter five:
“‘Fly!’ Nomad said, nudging her as blasts hit his shield. Another enemy ship had noticed them and pivoted to come at them. Worse, the other ember people were all rising from the field of grass like Awakened corpses.”
So sig definitely has run into lifeless becuase he knows what awakened corpses rising looks like. I think he’s referring more to the fact that shades dont go to the Spiritual in the same sense that other humans do, and leave behind a splinter of themselves

    • @TheCosmerenaut

I gotta question, in the finale of the book while Sigzil is grappling the Cinder King the Cinder King says, "Ah grappling, the cowards way of fighting" and Sigzil thinks, "I know some people who'd be horribly offended by that". Who is that reffering to? AFAIK the only grapplers in stormlight are the Pursuer (who is dead) and... Dalinar?
