Chinchillas are super cute, but they poop like machine guns and need regular baths in volcanic dust which settles all over everything you own 'til your house is the only one on the block that looks like it's dealing with the aftermath of Mount St Helens and your ears and scalp always feel kinda gritty... If you're cool with that though, they're fun pets.
Oh, also, when you've never had a chinchilla and someone walks by in a chinchilla-skin coat, you're vaguely aware that it's fur and kinda icky. Once you've had one and become familiar with their shape and direction of their fur-growth, someone will walk by in a chinchilla and you will actually see it as 100 little dudes sown ass-to-nose, and you'll probably have a melt-down.
I think your description was one of the most accurate and amusing descriptions of any pet I have ever seen.

I used to have two chinchillas named Beethoven and Rudy. Rudy was the Father and Beethoven was the son. They got their names pretty interestingly. Beethoven got out of his cage one night and got on our piano. My mom thought someone broke in but to find one of our chinchillas on the piano was hilarious and a relief. Rudy would bite and wasn't very friendly.

I had a chinchilla named Ralph and some how we always pooped in my boots ???? Like from his cage he would poop into my boots 😂 but his cage had floors like a house it was so cute and we would give him Cheerios and he would eat them like a human like with his little hands

Ikr, I watched this and choked when he called chase an intern, how long have them come. It kind of crazy!
This was the first Gmm episode I ever watched.
My friend invited me over to her house, we were watching RUclips, and she says "Oh, have you heard of Good Mythical Morning?"
I had no clue what she was talking about.
This was their newest video at the time. We watched this without watching the main episode first.
Needless to say, I was confused and concerned for my friend.... but also intrigued.
Four years later, and here I am again- a devoted fan to this day.
Thank you, Rhett and Link and Crew, for getting me through the rough times, always brightening my day, and always bringing a smile to my face. I honestly don't know where I would be without you guys.

Chinchillas are the softest and cutest things EVER. I used to have a chinchilla named Uno but he died... :( My sister and I scream-cried. :'(
Uno, when he took a dust bath, he would ALWAYS roll around 3 times or more and then rub his nose then roll three times or more the other way and then jump out and rub his nose. IT WAS SO CUTE.
Did you see him rubbing his nose at 7:04? He's so cute. :3 I'm thinking about getting one. Sorry for your loss though. I can't imagine how it feels like when your animal you have dies, but I can understand how it feels like to give them away..
We have two chinchillas.. they made little chinchillas, but the littleones died in two days.. now we have only one.. the male one died..
Sammy Knight I feel you're pain, bro. I had a chinchilla named Nacho and he did the exact same thing. He died last November and we buried him in my front yard under a Japanese maple. The chinchilla they had in the video looks exactly like him. It makes me feel happy and sad at the same time... :'(

Thoryn Donnelly I noticed that too. Chinchillas have a cartilage ribcage and when you pick them up you scoop them up and keep them supported they are delicate since their ribcage is nothing like ours.
Actually, no, they don't have cartilage ribcages. Do your research before you comment.
@@jhardie Chinchillas ribcages are very fragile and if you squeeze too tightly they can break. Scoop from underneath and support the feet or let him jump to you. Don't grab the tails.

I had a degu once which are related. They're almost like mini chinchillas. Super great pet for something so small, about 10 times friendlier and smarter than a mouse and they actually become attached and loyal. Mine would get out of his cage to come cuddle by my head on my pillow all the time

I used to have a Chinchilla, his name was Taz. I remember his fur was so soft, it was almost like it wasn't there. Like feeling air.
I have a pet rabbit and I believe he's as soft if not more soft than the chinchilla.He is awesome. He is litter box trained and he can rome my house. Also he is about the size of an adults head, and he is almost 2 years old!

Yuki Onna Its not actually that hard. Rabbits tend to pick one area and continually use that as their restroom. So if you put a litter box there, they will eventually understand that thats where they should go to poop.

He was about 1 when i adopted him about a year ago. so he was trained at the shelter. me and my dad made a 3 by 5 foot cage for him and he lives and poops in there, but he can rome the house! So i don't know how to potty train them. And he is a mini-rex. They have super fine fur and its softer than anything on the planet!!!!
Mini rex do have really soft fur! They're know for it in the rabbit world!
I have an 11-year-old holland lop rabbit, he's litter box trained and he has a bunny-proofed room all to himself where he... Well... Pretty much sleeps all day because he's so old

What's wrong with petco?
The reason you do not buy any animals whatsoever from any major pet stores, such as Pet Co, Is that you have no idea where they came from, how they are treated often, and etc. You should always buy animals from breeders.

They will dislocate the tail if you try to grab it and it's very painful for them..... They also have floating rib cage and have to be handled very carfully

@@julialablanc4949 No it wont. The tail will not grow back. Thats why it is important to handle your chinchilla with care. You scoop him from underneath supporting his feet or you let him come to you.

People!!! If you want to adopt a chinchilla, do some research. They are sensitive and require a lot of care. Because of this, people adopt them from petco and end up giving them away or they drop them off in a shelter. So if you really want one, find a shelter to adopt one. If you reside in California, I believe there is a rescue in Mountain View. It's a lot cheaper to get one this way as well. I only had to pay a $50 adoption fee for my chin as opposed to $120 to $150 from petco.
