When Violette Met Mélanie Huynh | VIOLET GREY

To say that The Violet Files contributor Violette surrounds herself with an inspiring group of women would be an understatement. Follow the French makeup artist around long enough and you’ll meet a bevy of talented artists-actresses, painters, stylists, editors, creative directors (some are all of these at once). They come from all walks of life and live in many different cities, but they are all charming, often French, and all hang out with Violette.
We’re pleased to introduce you to one such friend from Violette’s girl gang... Meet MÉLANIE HUYNH.

Violette says:
“I met Mélanie a few years ago, and it was love at first sight. I actually fainted in her arms the morning of our first shoot together. All I remember is saying, ‘I don’t feel very well’ at the breakfast buffet, and then hearing her scream ‘Help me!’ All 5'8" of me fell on her, and as you can see from the video she’s very slight!
Since then it has been a love story. She’s my best friend and the person who touches my heart most. She’s so thoughtful and generous. For example, the last time I was in Paris we were doing a show together, and despite it being her busiest time of the year she arrived with a bag full of gluten-free raw breakfast porridge for me to take back to New York.
She’s the mother of two incredible little girls, Scarlett and Kate; wife to the best husband ever, Fréderic; and rocking it as one of the most talented stylists. She puts her daughters to bed every night, finds the time to cook for her family, and is there for her friends.
She gave me the most precious gift in a friendship when she asked me to be Kate’s godmother. Even though, as you can see in this video, Kate has serious doubts about my makeup skills, I am obsessed with her and feel so lucky to be her godmother!”
