I've only heard bad news about Twitter, specifically from RUclipsrs. It's why I've only been skeptical about making an account there. It sounds terrible. Especially with the whole MAPs thing happening on there these last few months. As for the MAPs thing I know it started on 4chan which used to be a very toxic site because it's only anonymous people and it has no filters or moderators really. (I dont really hear much about it anymore). They created it as an "edgy joke" to make fun of the LGBTQ flags. Now it sorta spiraled out of an edgy joke to people actually using it for real. It's pretty gross.
Yeah, i recommend not to use twitter. I have been using it for a year, and i can safety say its the worst social media platform ive ever seen. Granted, ive never used Facebook, instagram, snapchat, or anything else besides RUclips and Reddit. Twitter is toxic basically wherever you go. If you express your opinion on anything, you're bassicaly gonna get slapped with a gif that says "your opinion sucks" or just overall hostility. I mainly use twitter for news, but even then i rather resort to reddit for news. At least i can express my thoughts on reddit without being blown to bits. Ive visited many communitys on twitter and i tell you, it's hard trying to find a civilized, normal human being who has a working brain. The way I tell people, bring up the topic gradually and mention the fandom's existence in third person perspective, give a brief description while acting as if you never heard of them before, and if they are not offended about it then tell them that you are a furry. I personally wouldn't say it like "I'm a furry!" but rather like "I'm one of them!". It's a method I created to make it slightly easier to confess your involvement. I'm 26 and my mother and a cousin already know my secret, and it wasn't hard for them to accept that part of me.
I personally think zoo's are fine, if you aren't hurting anyone then why should we care? BUT if a zoo actually does it with an animal then yeah that's fucked up and I dont want that in our fandom

I was getting confused when looking up maps and came across MAPS. ORG "Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies - MAPS" Like what's wrong with that? Anyways far as this MAPS I'll have to look into it more, it just sounds like some BS that'll just be used as a beacon for regressive alt righters that will take away from important issues, consent laws exist for good reasons however, There does need to be reform of things like the registry cause there no reason people as young as 10 and 11 years old be placed on the registry let alone make it anything public just keep it reserved for law enforcement it shouldn't be a living death sentance for someone that mooned their classmates when graduating high school for a real example. Anyways far as this MAPS I'll have to look into it more, it just sounds like some BS that'll just be used as a beacon for regressive alt righters that will take away from important issues, consent laws exist for good reasons however, There does need to be reform of things like the registry cause there no reason people as young as 10 and 11 years old be placed on the registry let alone make it anything public just keep it reserved for law enforcement it shouldn't be a living death sentance for someone that mooned their classmates when graduating high school for a real example. Far as consent laws there needs to be more nuance, example I had a high school friend (30s) who's married now with three kids with a lucrative career. I wonder how his life would of been if he got arrested for dating a 14 yr old for 2 years when He was 17 to 19.
