I'm one of the 90% of people, but actually considering EOS R (the slight megapixel increase) instead of the r6mk2. no? I'll mainly shot portraits and minimal video.

Aye mang, me personally, the R is like 1500-1800 while the R6mk2 is 2000-2200. If it was me, I'd spend that little extra just to have a body with some more modernness to it. BUT, If you're just gonna take portraits, it's still not an impossible idea! Major concern differences off the top of my head are weaker autofocus, the lower burst rate, and one SD card slot...
BUT, cameras are just tools we use to create our vision; It was possible for people to create the content they wanted to create before the R6mk2 and R5 were out, so I say go for it if that's what your budget only allows for!

4k60 is better in the r6 and r6mkii due to the line skipping functionality of the r5 at 60fps.

You're totally right! I shoulda also mentioned how the 4k60 on the R6 II has oversampling while the R5 has that 1.6x crop so the quality is objectively better on the R6 II 👍🏿👍🏿

@@ohdeazy1567 Oh I misread that first reply. I somehow thought you were asking if it happened either on the r5 or the r6mkii. I worded that inital comment pretty badly in general.
But yeah, 1.6x crop or 60% crop factor with the r5, but it's an option to do so. You can still shoot 4k60 without the crop. What I was trying to say was that since the 4k60 functionality is a bit more limited with the lines kipping on the r5, that crop wouldn't be nearly as sharp.
