The protests are not about one black man dying. Had this been one isolated incident, this wouldn't have happened on this level. This is the result of several people dying /On Film/ after decades of people and the government denying that this even happens (or acting like the people somehow deserved it- as the cops were trying to claim before the video went mainstream). Again, the importance of the videos is that noone believed that this happened. If any black man, woman, or child was killed/beaten/harassed, it was because they were threatening or violent, causing them to fear for their lives. Now people/governments are seeing videos of black people getting harassed/beaten/killed over lies (Officers and Karen's out and out lying about what happened and deliberately using the person's color to ramp up the incident), and it's getting harder to deny, therefore making it harder to tell people to shut up and stop complaining. The other part of this is that people and the government always have an excuse to tell to shut up and wait for justice. I mean there have been generations for people to get our act together. However, apparently, it's never a been politically relevant time for things to change, and it never will be.

This guy is so painfully misinformed on the United Kingdom. We went with a herd immunity strategy for a month. The exact same approach as Sweden. We chose to let coronavirus run through the population which led to mass of uncontrollable infection. The only counter measure we took was wash your hands. No lockdown. Our failure of a government was comfortable letting 250,000 people die to protect the economy. We only changed course when it became apparent the healthcare system would collapse. Which would have resulted in not just tens of thousands more people dying from coronavirus, but tens of thousands of people dying from other diseases because they would be unable to get health care. We locked down then. A month too late.We have still after nearly 3 months locked down, not regained control of the infection. At present we have more deaths per day than all 27 other EU members. And 2000 infections per day This is precisely what happens if you do not lock down. Had we locked down over 90% of those who are dead now, would be alive. We would have reopened sooner and our economy would have recovered faster p.s. per capita Sweden is the 5th worst performing country on the planet. And rising. Not locking down is a terrible strategy.
Over the long term, Sweden made the right move. Obviously they'll have a high death toll right now considering they did never fully locked down like everyone else. But in the long term they'll hit herd immunity sooner, while the rest of us are struggling with second and third waves
@@rainmaker6261 euthanizing your elders for the sake of the economy in such wealthy countries as the EU is such an insane concept to me. ye maybe our economy will take a few years lonegr to recover, but at least our grandparents are alive...
Apparently more delusions but now those delusional people want you to know "Hey bro i'm wearing a mask, im just saying if you really think about it wearing a mask makes us sheep". Oh and just today I saw people saying we gotta boycott cashless business's because its our right to carry cash and having to use a debit card is inherently evil even though other then the way the money is exchanged is virtually the only difference.
He has done more good than any other president in recent history. I'll list a few examples for you. Thanks to Trump, America has the lowest tax rate in 50 years. 82% of middle-income households got an individual income average tax cut of $1000, 65% got an average tax cut of about $2,200. Black and Hispanic unemployment rates are lower than they have ever been. There has been a 3.8% average wage growth, Hispanic median income is the highest it's ever been in the history of America. 4 million people no longer needed food stamps less than 2 years of Trump became president. He stopped North Korea from doing missile tests. ISIS thrived in America while Obama was in office but has been destroyed under Trump.
This guy debating the coronavirus shut down is like saying the Earth taking measures to stop a civilization-ending asteroid that has a 20% chance of hitting was a waste of time because it passed us.
Cody Davis which is typical human nature, it’s the reason we tend to see extreme patterns when their aren’t any. It was advantageous for us to be more precautionary for survival. It doesn’t make any sense why this is such a drastic diversion from that.
this guy would say that walking into space without a space suit wouldnt kill you because there isnt any proof of that yet. @34:40 "we were told that Georgia and Florida were committing human sacrifice by ending the lockdown early, none of that happened." This comment aged like fucking milk.
Ah the Tony death.... once the cops realized that he wasn't responding their entire demeanor changed....they actually seemed concerned He just passed out, he wasn't begging for his life for minutes. An actually EMT showed up There wasn't a viral video about it Ton'y family had to fight in court to get the video released.... 4 years later. The officer knee wasn't on his neck They were in grass The family is currently taking legal action.
Arguing someones demeanor is silly, emts did arrive for floyd as well, how is needing to go to court to get the tape preferred?, was grass even an option for george floyd? Cops dont generally care about your comfort white brown or otherwise. Im not really seeing what youre trying to say.
@@mcmugget "EMT", rewatch a slowed down video of when the "EMT" show up for Floyd... it looks like people in cop outfits that just picked up his body badly and tossed him in... vs Tony where you actually see an EMT and Tony being treated. Instant reaction will always be greater vs 4 years later.... yeah getting actually cop footage is preferred but if Floyd's death was released 4 years from now... the reaction would be a lot different. The protesting isn't just solely based off of Floyd's death... its back to back to back cases, Floyd was just the most recent/last straw. Arguing demeanor is very important.... I strongly believe if Tony's cop arrested Floyd, he would still be here today.... watch both videos, there is a clear change of demeanor once they realize he isn't just passed out......vs Floyd's cop never giving a single fuck..... People keep saying the cops were joking about killing him, its clear it was just dark/joking humor from a situation they deal with on a regular basis. Cops clearly care in some cases... I've seen cops loosen cuffs if the person being detained is reasonable..... seen cops take a guy that just killed multiply people to a burger king.... give someone their last cigarette, etc....
Reactionaries always like their whataboutism. Even if Tony's case were 100% equivalent, the context is vastly different. And of course there's some randomness in what stories become big as well.
Are you joking? The cops weren't concerned until they realized that he wasn't breathing and that they themselves could get in trouble, have you even watched the video? He was crying saying "you're going to kill me" and "please let me go" and they responded by laughing. There is obviously a racial problem in America but police brutality effects everyone.
Im fairly certain there was a study done that demonstrated stories with a black victim and a white offender in these cop situations got significantly more attention from the media at all levels (local, national etc.). Its been years since i remember reading about it so i could easily be misremembering or mistaken, but I'm sure it would be pretty easy to find. And yeah police brutality is an American problem, it is more prevalent against blacks, but it happens at an INSANE level even against whites. There are tons of cases where cops will kill white people under very questionable circumstances and the case goes nowhere.
I got an hour in and legitimately had to stop. This guy doesn’t understand how diseases work whatsoever, him saying there’s no proof more people would die without a lockdown makes my faith in humanity shrivel up and crawl into the fetal position.
Not just that, but his insistence that we not do anything unless we know exactly how many more people it will save... ugh, what a repulsively inhumane take.
He sounds like he doesn't understand politics... sounds like a guy who has two cathegories for things ('good and bad') - everything he doesn't like is automatically 'bad' and has to be justified retroactively.
The lockdown substantially delayed the rise in case count in the initial phase, however we do not have the means to sustain a lockdown forever. So we could have a discussion on when and how to end the lock down, which was a big topic here. But what does it matter now? Everyone's protesting, riots are breaking out, so much for a lockdown. These rioters in New York, LA, pretty much everywhere I've seen are not practicing social distancing, are they. The masks only do so much.
right out the gate Rob says he wants to get to the source of these riots and immediately starts to talk about a symptom rather than the source. Police misconduct, brutality and excessive force is the source. What's the source of that? A system that actually encourages aggressive actions by law enforcement and holds no actual accountability for such actions. This has created a self perpetuating system of abuse for the sake of increased revenue that encourages abuse for the sake of increased revenue. remove the revenue and you quell the abuse.
No one's afraid of death until it's staring them in the face. That's why the Herman Cain Awards are so great. Everyone is so tough when they're shit posting, but when they get sick, they're begging for prayers and money.
I protested in Minneapolis. The reason we're getting less shit is because we're wearing masks and doing what we can (although somewhat limited, given the nature of a protest) to reduce the likelihood of a spread. The next day, when cleaning up the rubble of an Arby's, even people who were helping me shovel piles of broken brick, we did what we could to keep our faces away from each other
Still doesn't detract that you are increasing the likelihood of contracting the virus. Of course, I understand that you weigh the importance of the protest more than you do for COVID-19. I mean, at the very least, you're doing as much as possible to lessen the spread of this virus whilst protesting. Stay safe.
Dude your telling me everyone was standing in a grid 6ft apart? No. People are yelling, breathing heavy, the mask can only do so much. Imo it's just a bad decision putting your own health at risk let alone peoples health that probably can't fight a virus like young people can.
formaly Life long republican here. In hindsight, Destiny was right about nearly everything. Trump failed, us fuck me. I regret voting for him so hard in 2016. We are at a 9/11 a day in deaths.
Thank you, to be honest Trump had shift the Overton window so much that just finding things in common values between Americans seemed like a huge deal now.
What about deaths? O they went down. More testing = more cases. deaths are down. No one said a lockdown was gonna stop covid the curve is on a steady course
James Fitch to add on that, yes more testing does mean more cases. That’s why you need to look at the percentage of tests that come back positive. And right now that number is skyrocketing
This is actually one of my most favorite videos on the channel. Lots of useful information and discussion in light of the whole BLM movement spurring again right now, and an interesting coronavirus discussion.
This was an actual good discussion. I see a lot of people shitting on Rob Noerr here, I think he did fine getting across the point that a lot of "average" Americans feel right now. I think Destiny provided a solid defense against the arguments, but I think Noerr also got some good points across. Pleasantly surprised.
This dude is literally arguing that the alternative to the lockdown we did was to do a better lockdown.... how else would he protect the most vulnerable? without a lockdown?
Shaefer's murder was the "worst thing youve ever seen?" Worse than Breona Taylor having her house broken into and being killed WHILE SLEEPING? (While being guilty of absolutely nothing, might i add). 🤔 Huh. Hot take.
“How do you know the numbers would’ve been worse if we didn’t lockdown?” So it’s been 3 weeks since this debate, and multiple states attempted reopening like Florida. What followed was a large spike in cases and now they’re closing down again so I’ll say that’s how we know
This guy........ Experts: this bad thing will happen unless you do this or this or this to mitigate it. Everyone: does this or this or this to mitigate it. Rob: See! The prediction was wrong!!!!!
There has been $15 trillion spent on the war on poverty in the last 50 years. That is $300 billion a year spent on poverty a year and the needle hasn't moved. Spending $ on poverty doesn't fix it, it is a silly argument.

28:52 Graduating High School, Full time Job, and be raised in a 2 parent household is such bad meme parroted by conservatives! Tertiary education (Trade schools, colleges, universities,etc...) is what is needed to get the MOST BENEFITS IN LIFE, which mostly leads to a full time job! Even if you acquire a full time job, you may not have benefits such as (PTO, bonuses, raises, etc...) to make a living! Destiny explains the 3rd point, but my criticism over this dumb talking point stands!
Why is it that a majority of people he has on have shitty ass mics? It doesn't cost much to get a decent mic setup and have it so it doesn't peirce your ears.
Just give him the numbers from Sweden. We are doing terrible compared to the other Nordic countries that have actually shut things down. Now, will it go up when they open up again? Probably. Will hospitals be better off. Almost certainly.
I wished destiny asked this guy what the right way to protest that would have actually got this guy to take the issues of black community seriously. I mean when black people talk about it they are ignored or told to stop talking about race or they are inciting violence. When artists/celebrities make songs/movies that reference the issues. It is either ignored or are told to stop talking about race or they inciting violence. Peaceful protest are either ignored or told to stop talking about race or they inciting violence. Colin Kaepernick silently kneeing through the national anthem. He ignored or told to stop talking about race or he is inciting violence.
And 2000 infections per day
This is precisely what happens if you do not lock down. Had we locked down over 90% of those who are dead now, would be alive. We would have reopened sooner and our economy would have recovered faster
p.s. per capita Sweden is the 5th worst performing country on the planet. And rising. Not locking down is a terrible strategy.
Over the long term, Sweden made the right move. Obviously they'll have a high death toll right now considering they did never fully locked down like everyone else. But in the long term they'll hit herd immunity sooner, while the rest of us are struggling with second and third waves

@34:40 "we were told that Georgia and Florida were committing human sacrifice by ending the lockdown early, none of that happened." This comment aged like fucking milk.
Ah the Tony death.... once the cops realized that he wasn't responding their entire demeanor changed....they actually seemed concerned
He just passed out, he wasn't begging for his life for minutes.
An actually EMT showed up
There wasn't a viral video about it
Ton'y family had to fight in court to get the video released.... 4 years later.
The officer knee wasn't on his neck
They were in grass
The family is currently taking legal action.
More people will have died by the lockdown than the virus ever could’ve done in its wildest imagination.
@@FaithwalkerTodd You understand just as little!
Simps simping for trump
AMAZIN
right out the gate Rob says he wants to get to the source of these riots and immediately starts to talk about a symptom rather than the source.

“He wasn’t a police officer” that makes it worse that a non officer is hunting a black man down in a neighborhood
So many things about this comment is stupid
holy shit this guys arguments aged really poorly
This sounds like a 3rd Destiny vs Nuance Bro debate.

What about deaths? O they went down. More testing = more cases. deaths are down. No one said a lockdown was gonna stop covid the curve is on a steady course

I said this for the last guy and I'll say it again this time.
I can never suspend my disbelief about the lengths people will go to defend Trump.
So in his infinite wisdom what was the right way to actually get wider society to listen and address these issues.
